Grange Cottage is a delightful holiday home set on the edge of the village of Castleton in the Peak District National Park. With three lovely bedrooms and a family bathroom, the property can sleep up to six people. There's also a kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with woodburner. Outside, there is a front patio garden along with a rear, enclosed lawned garden with furniture and lovely views across the surrounding countryside. There's also an off road parking space for one car across the property. Grange Cottage is an excellent holiday home in a lovely location, perfect for any group at any time of the year.

Area
The outstandingly beautiful Peak District village of Castleton is situated at the top of the Hope Valley, on the doorstep of some great walking country. Castleton is world-famous for its visitor caves. Castleton has a fabulous array of interesting little gift shops, some fantastic food pubs and an excellent Visitor Centre with its small museum explaining life in the Hope Valley, plus the Christmas lights and festive activities are very popular during December.

The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Absolutely fabulous cottage, with everything you could possibly need, just on the edge of the village so very quiet but a 5 minute stroll to the high street with plenty of pubs, tea rooms and a restaurant, can recommend Tilly’s for gorgeous breakfasts and had two lovely meals in 1530 restaurant, just make sure you book as it’s very popular.. We only had to take the car out once as you can walk for miles from the door. Will definitely return.

The most beautiful cottage in the perfect location, with the added benefit of a parking space in busy Castleton.. The garden was fantastic to sit and relaxed before and after a day of walking (right from the doorstep). Cottage was stocked with everything you would need to make your stay very comfortable and homely. Huge choice of pubs/cafes within 5min walk from property, also two shops for essentials.

The cottage was excellent, the proprietor Julia really has made it home from home, with wonderful welcome.. All the essentials were provided which was really appreciated. Even included a bottle of wine! The cottage is very tastefully furnished and cosy, with wonderful views of the surrounding hills from the garden. I met Julia as I was leaving she couldn't have been more helpful as a host.

We stayed at Grange Cottage years ago via the previous owners.. It was always lovely and we really didn`t expect it to be improved, but it absolutely has. The decore is lovely and the beds were super comfy. The cottage was really cosy (other members of our familly rented next door and kept comig over to us to warm up!) and the tea tray, cakes etc were a really nice touch. We`ve booked again in November!

Highly recommend Grange Cottage. A delightful cottage with excellent facilities and a lovely garden, in the centre of what is a beautiful village. There's so much to do in the area, with a variety of excellent walks on hand and a choice of caverns to look at, not to mention six great pubs! The owner was friendly and helpful, and maintains the cottage to a high standard. The perfect getaway!

Grange cottage was beautiful, very well decorated and had everything we needed.. Lovely garden and the location was perfect. Castleton is a great location for walking with Mam Tor nearby. We can recommend the local bakery for a walkers lunch and there are loads of places to eat in the village. Julia was very helpful and left prosecco for us!!! Would definitely recommend this cottage. 5 star without a doubt!!!!!

Just got back from a three night stay at this cottage.. Lovely quirky little cottage, with a lovely garden and views. The bottle of wine, tea and little cookies are a wonderful welcome gift, along with the box of treats for your dog. This cottage is well equipped and the cottage is in a great location in Castleton and is an easy walk for shops and pubs. Carnot wait to return for another stay.

What a lovely cottage Julia the owner has, every home comfort and spotless.. And what a great village Castleton is, perfect for walking and exploring and with so many pubs and local shops what more could you want. Julia informed us about the key collection to start with and said if we needed anything to let her know, she left us to it she was not intrusive in any way but was there if we needed her. I would highly reccomend Grange Cottage to anyone it was spacious very comfortable and loads of character. Very happy holiday makers all three of us plus one wrinkly.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at grange cottage, which was one of the best cottages we have stayed at.. The position in Castleton was superb allowing us to wander into the village for meals or drinks or brilliant walks right on the doorstep. The cottage was excellently equipped, with everything you could need for cooking at home, and even a picnic basket, which we used every day, as we had fantastic weather. Lots of extra touches which made it feel a real home from home. The only negative is the lack of a second toilet. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the lovely cottage.

The village of Castleton is ideally situated for exploring the Peak District.. Grange Cottage is within easy walking distance of four dog friendly pubs and the village shop. The cottage is also dog friendly, with an enclosed rear garden. The cottage has been furnished and decorated with great attention to detail. It is warm, inviting and cosy, and the kitchen is well equipped. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the bathroom is modern and attractive. The dedicated parking space opposite the front door is particularly welcome, as parking in the village is problematic at weekends. We are keen to stay at Grange Cottage again, and would highly recommend it.

This was our second stay in Grange Cottage and we absolutely love it - a real home from home.. The little touches like handwash, flowers, tea, coffee and milk on arrival make it all the better. The whole house is extremely comfortable and well appointed with a completely secure garden front and back for the dogs. To have a parking space opposite is also a massive bonus. The location is fabulous, just a couple of minutes walk from the village centre amenities including countless pubs, Blue John shops, a bakers and a post office/shop. The only thing I will mention is that it's probably not that suitable for people with mobility issues, as the hill up to the cottage, although not long, is quite steep. My Mum has arthritis and she did find it a bit hard going. However, it is in the Peak District, so you have to expect hills!! Will definitely be back next year :)

Our third stay at Grange cottage did not disappoint, the cottage was beautifully decorated for Christmas and as comfortable and clean as ever.. From a practical The kitchen is very well equipped, the shower is nice and powerful and a dedicated parking spot is a bonus. Castleton is a great village with plenty of choices of pubs and cafes. We always enjoy being able to go on some great walks straight from the front door.

A much needed free parking space for one car opposite the cottage. At weekends Castleton gets extremely busy and you would struggle to find a space up a couple of steps into the cottage itself close the gate and enter into a lovely old cottage that opens up into a large open and light kitchen. Three bedrooms two double and one single all rooms upstairs were large airy. The bathroom is large with a good shower over the bath. Outside a back garden to sit and relax with views of the countryside. It is lovely and peaceful out back away from our everyday distractions. We enjoyed walks looking around castleton itself. Trying out the local pubs and tea rooms. This is a dog friendly cottage we all found it very comfortable relaxing and very clean. Book if you want to eat out in the evening as everywhere gets busy. jewellery shops selling blue John can be expensive. We would most certainly book this cottage again for the comfort and next time we won't be moving our car as it's ideal to stay and not venture out.

The cottage is ideally situated, 2 minutes walk to the shops, pubs etc and a nice 10 minute walk to peak cavern. The cottage itself is very clean and comfortable, giving all the creature comforts we needed for our stay. A spacious kitchen and cosy living room. Three comfortable bedrooms and a large bathroom upstairs. A dog friendly cottage, we had a bulldog with us, who enjoyed some good walks around the area. All in the party said how much they had enjoyed their stay and talked of returning to enjoy more of the attractions the area has to offer.

We love this cottage, we stayed here before it changed hands a couple of years ago and it was lovely but it has been much improved by the current owners. Grange cottage is so comfortable, well equipped and ideal for dog owners as there is a decent sized garden straight out of the back door, something a little rare around Castleton. Loved the shabby chic styling. Will most certainly stay here again.

Looking for somewhere as a base from which we could walk in and around Castleton. Just off the Market Place and with a parking place to boot proved ideal. Cottage has 3 bedrooms (a double a single and a family with both) Wi fi is good which is just as well as mobile reception is poor. TV with freesat and radio in a comfortable lounge, well equipped dining kitchen and a welcome pack with wine, milk & parkin. Outside space - garden with table and chairs although not used. Lovely week, Julia.
