The cottage is very well equipped and furnished. The owners are very helpful and friendly and are happy to recommend things to do and places to eat. There are interesting things to do in the immediate locality e.g. a walk to the waterfall and a visit to the heritage centre. There is lots more in the surrounding area : Kielder Forest and reservoir with nesting ospreys, the Dark Sky observatory above Kielder ( booking essential), Hadrian’s Wall, the National Trust house at Wallington and the Roman site at Corbridge.

Lovely, spacious and very clean holiday cottage with wonderfully comfortable beds and excellent en-suite bathrooms. Well-stocked kitchen and care has been taken to make your stay stress free and enjoyable. The owners are super friendly and will offer useful tips about places to visit and things to see. The local Co-op is open every day and has most things you might be looking for. Bellingham is not big but I found no less than 3 public charging points for my hybrid car! During our 1-week stay we explored places like Cragside, Wallington, Vindolander, Corbridge, Banburgh Castle, Amble and the Holy Island amongst others. Tea on the train, an advertised local lunch or afternoon tea venue is definitely worth the visit (especially as it is just around the corner!). Negatives: Nope, can’t think of any!
