We felt that the mattress and pillows were not very comfortable.. The settee was very uncomfortable to sit on The front door key was sometimes very difficult to open in the morning I know it was quite small just for two but due to the uncomfortable bed and settee we would not recommend the cottage

No freezer or icebox which was a nuisance as we had taken frozen items and no ice for drinks.. After a couple of days there wasn't any hot water (except in the shower). Rang the owner and she came and showed us how to boost it until it could be sorted. The kitchen is well equipped but short of a baking sheet and dishes to go in the oven (e.g. Pyrex). There is an excellent shower and the main room is very comfortable. It is situated round the corner from market place so very convenient for shops, pubs etc. Can be difficult to park.

It was all great.. Perhaps you should tell people they will need £15 in pound coins for the parking. But other than that it was brilliant. Thank you

The location of Grace Cottage is brilliant - just off the market square.. The cottage itself was immaculately clean, well equipped and, although small, absolutely perfect for two people. We were lucky to have incredible weather for our stay and it was a little disappointing to have nowhere to sit outside to soak up the sun, but it was just a short walk to the castle walls with benches to sit on and not much further to beautiful parks. In bad weather, or the winter months, a DVD player might be a welcome addition but that's just a suggestion. The process for accessing the key was extremely straightforward. Information about parking was helpful but it would have been good to know in advance that we needed £15 in £1 coins in order to buy a weekly pass - no card or phone payments are available. In summary, Grace Cottage is a little gem, well cared for and ideal for a short break for two. Highly recommended.

Beautiful cottage in central Richmond.. A quaint, quirjky little place ideal for a couple. We had a fantastic stay and loved everything about it. It’s perfectky styled and immaculately cream. Bed is soooo comfy too. Slightly noisy upstairs neighbours on Saturday morning but this did not distract from our lovely weekend. Check out the Gin Bar and Emporium, both well worth a visit.

As has been stated, parking is the drawback.. May not be suitable for a long summer break,as there is nowhere to sit outside. BUT other than this the cottage is comfortable and well equipped.

The cottage is quite lovely inside, it is tastefully decorated with very comfortable bed and furnishings, it has plenty of lamps etc and a lovely electric log fire which adds atmosphere.. Kitchen has everything you would need for the stay. Although literally one minute from the market square we did not hear any noise at night. So much to see and do just in the town itself, all on your doorstep. The cinema at the station was lovely, as was the walk along the river and back through the fields to visit Easby Abbey. The dales are so beautiful and two minutes drive. The owner has thoughtfully left plenty of local info in the cottage plus books and games. We stayed a week but could have easily stayed longer. Very romantic stay for couples. Parking a slight problem, I was lucky and often was able to park right outside the cottage, but at busy times that may be more tricky so I would say take fifteen pounds of pound coins and get parking for the whole week includes all night. The parking machines do not take bank cards or pay by phone.

Stylish and comfortable, this cottage or apartment if one prefers, was perfect in every way for the week.. All amenities and appliances ready to hand and comfortable, cosy and easy to keep tidy. A solo traveller, I found its accessibility by public transport superb, would need a car only to travel further afield as there is much to see and do, literally on the doorstep. Eateries and good pubs abound and local produce for home cooking, delicious and so easy to get. Sights, sounds and friendly folk made it a joy of a holiday.

Grace Cottage is a good base for 1-2 people, set in a central position in the town, close to shops, cafes & restaurants.. We arrive by train & bus, so don't have the problems with finding a parking spot which seems to cause a bit of hassle to others. Bus stops are just around the corner. We used The Little White Bus service to take us to other parts of Swaledale, and enjoyed great walking, up and down the dale, between villages.

Parking in Richmond is difficult and the local parking wardens are "enthusiastic".. We had to leave our car about 15mins walk away in the main dispolay and pay car park, including overnight. The ticket (£15 for a week) gave access to many other car parks in N Yorkshire and nothing happenned to the car, but...

There were a few minor issues the bed was extremely squeaky and made sleeping very difficult as I am a light sleeper.. There could of been a welcome pack or teas/coffee and a pint of milk or something like that, also the shower needs to be a power shower, it took me a long time to shower, I don't really like wasting too much water. Other than that is was a really nice property and although the layout was quirky its was fun easy to use.

Excellent studio accommodation. Fittings, decor, equipment all of a good standard. Lighting was excellent in all areas. Grace Cottage in a central position, close to shops, bus, etc. Richmond a perfect town for autumn holiday. Lots of walks, every street full of interesting old buildings, great views from Castle Walk.
