We had a very enjoyable stay at Gorwell House.. The cottage is cosy and very well equipped. I would recommend without hesitation. You will not be disappointed

Amazing holiday – the best holiday cottage/house we have ever stayed in.. A true ‘’home from home’’ – fantastic location - awesome views – local amenities on your doorstep! We cannot recommend Gorwell House highly enough. Very clean, comfortable and well presented. We were all very comfortable and loved the 2 separate lounges – allowing us to do seperate activities of an evening if we wanted to. The only thing that would have made the stay slightly more comfortable would have been bigger towels (bath-sheet) and more towels in general. Having said this – we immediately re-booked for next year upon our return home and are all very much looking forward to staying again. A definite 5-star rating! Thank you from The Jeffrey Family.

Gorwell was a lovely house to stay in.. The only thing that could have improved our stay, would be a better shower. The location is excellent and the locals were very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this property for couples or families.

Visited over New Year. Photo's on this site show cottage exactly as it is. Nice spacious cottage. Access is via a steep hill and steps up to cottage, this didn't cause us any issues although I didn't like driving up there as quite narrow lane! There is good parking available for two cars. Bedrooms are all a good size and beds were really comfortable with lovely memory foam mattresses. As well as the main bathroom with over bath shower there is another separate toilet. It was too warm over our visit to make use of the wood burner, even though it was a winter visit we did enjoy sitting out on the seating outside the cottage and the garden seating area would be great in summer I'm sure. Liked having two living room areas, this would be good for a large family group. There are a lot of books, DVD's and games available for you to use. There is a nice large dining table which was good for jigsaws/games as well as eating. WiFi service is good. It is a short walk to the village although during our visit a lot of the cafe's were shut, the Post Office did a take away chinese option and we got take away pizza from The Dolphin pub. Would also recommend the Pack of Cards pub at top end of village. The cottage is in a great position for walking with easy access to the coastal walks, all the walks in this area are fairly steep, we enjoyed a walk to Ilfracombe and to great hangman for fabulous views. There is also a nice pub a little outside of Combe Martin at Berrynarbor, we walked there for Sunday lunch which was really good. Really enjoyed our visit and hope to go again.

A wonderful cottage up a quiet lane a short walk from beach and shops.. The cottage is spacious and nicely furnished. Very homely and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped including a washing machine. We loved playing UNO, watching dvd’s and relaxing with our children after beautiful days cycling the Tarka trail, crabbing on the beach and walking on the coast path. This was a lovely village to be based in the locals were very welcoming. We did the Coomb Martin Museum’s beach safari which was particularly lovely. So much to see a week was not long enough.....

Excellent location—but clients do need to be told of tricky/steep access Lovely but challenging terraced garden ——not suitable for young families and definitely not for people with mobility issues Two of our family adults were unable to come— if they had, it would have been a tight squeeze esp in dining area There were 4 adults and 2 v small children and that was just fine However- a lovely lovely characterful old house —good ,well equipped ,big kitchen ——and it was literally 5 mins walk from beach We had a delightful week .. Thankyou

Lovely house with 4 decent sized bedrooms. Kitchen is equipped with everything you could need and garden is very big and lovely patio area. We had a toddler (16 months) with us and they provided a highchair and cot which was a life saver! Would definitely return

A very lovely house near the little beach of Combe Martin.. The sitting room in the house is very comfortable and cosy - especially on rainy days when you light a fire. The kitchen is fully equipped and typically British. We loved every day there.

We had a lovely family holiday during Easter week, Gorwell House has a cosy 'Home from Home' feel, with a lovely woodburner for chilly nights, we had plenty of space for all six in our family and a lovely welcome of tea, biscuits and a bottle of wine on arrival, even the Easter Bunny came and lots of fun was had searching for eggs in the lovely gardens. Very good location for lovely walks, beaches and would highly recommend Watermouth Castle, lovely for children of all ages, theme park included. Perfect family holiday.

The location and space of the cottage was ideal. The place was very comfortable and well equipped throughout. The fire is a great feature and having a large dinner table to sit around and share meals was excellent.

Location of the cottage was perfect for touring around the area. Cottage was comfortable and the log fire in the evening was perfect. Combe Martin is small but the walk up Hangman is great. Not for the faint hearted but once on the top the views are special and you can walk for hours. Kayaking in the small bay is very safe and even better at sunset. Prefer to stay in Combe Martin as less of a tourist trap. Local people very friendly and helpful.

The cottage was very quaint and very well looked after. Felt like we were staying in a piece of Devon history. The garden was also really lovely and our two year old loved exploring it. We also liked the big kitchen that was well appointed and the rooms upstairs were nicely furnished. We also loved the little villages in the area and had a brilliant time on Woolacombe beach.

Had a wonderful trip to Somerset, when we we normally head to Dorset and Hampshire. This property is perfectly positioned for walking, lovely beaches and sightseeing in the historical villages but above all, you can just relax in the lovely garden and have a great bbq. You will have to go along way to better this rental spot. The trip went so well, I was moved to pop the question and she said yes - Can't be bad then!
