Can hardly call Glenashdale a cottage, it is a beautiful house in a perfect setting for a very relaxing holiday. A real home from home with everything you could possibly need to enjoy yourself; be it cooking, reading, watching TV/movies, listening to music or surfing the web, it was all there in abundance, would gladly recommenced this property to friends and family, anyone really. If you're looking for a great place to stay on the west coast, whatever it is you like to do, this is the spot.

What a lovely house to stay in! There was everything you needed. The view from the back rooms and garden were fabulous with constant activity on the Firth of Clyde, including submarines, ferry's, fishing boats and ocean liners! The garden has a resident pheasant and deer often came in for a feed on the grass and bushes. We did see one seal but the red squirrels eluded us. All in all a lovely place to spend your holiday.

Glenashdale really is a beautiful and well equipt cottage, just perfect for relaxing in. It's location is good, with nice walks on the doorstep and well positioned for travelling to other areas/sights like the Argyll forests. Super comfy beds, great views, deer and pheasants in the garden, and friendly neighbours. The driveway is a little awkward to get in and out of, but there is always the option of parking in the turning point up on the road.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location.. We've never stayed in a place which was so quiet and peaceful. The cottage was clean and well equipped, the beds were very comfy. The views from the living room and garden were amazing! We had a dog with us at and there were walks down to the beach directly from the cottage. Although the cottage seems to be remote it is actually 10 minutes from Dunoon and local takeaways deliver here if you don't feel like cooking.

Although we had probably the worst weather the area had had for a while ie.. Storm Ali we were warm and comfortable and had no problems. The poor garden suffered a bit from tree debris blown down and the furniture all flew about the garden but was fortunately not broken and easily restored to its position in the garden. Seeing deer in the garden was a treat and seeing the coastline appear and disappear across the Firth of Clyde as the weather changed was interesting whilst being in a cosy place and enjoying a glass of wine. The position of the cottage in relation to the Osborne Restaurant which is a lovely place for a good meal and a friendly greeting was an added bonus.

The weather couldn't have been better, which helps a lot, the cottage is beautiful & as advertised.. Only small snag was the kettle broke & I wound up fixing it my self because I couldn't contact anyone or get them to ring me back, but it's O.K. now. Brilliant Holiday!!!

Had been before to this cottage, chose to go again so knew it suited me and my dog with its location and large secure garden.. Wonderful views, comfortable beds and sofas, decently equipped kitchen, the new porch makes a difference. Peaceful setting.

March 2018
House in a quiet area.. Driveway was a little tricky to manoeuvre out of. Lovely big garden often with local wildlife. Fantastic views from the lounge. Whilst I cannot fault the house and facilities it is not one we would use again. Mainly due to the stairs which were steep especially to the upstairs bathroom.
Mrs Clarke

Mrs Barrass

April 2019
On arrival found level of cleanliness unacceptable.. Wooden flooring needed cleaning carpets full of dog hair hoover blocked unable to use. Shower mouldy front of washing machine thick with dirt. We have photos to back this up. Looking forward to speaking with you.
Mrs Tinniing
March 2019
The new kitchen is brilliant such an improvement on the old one.. Just a shame the lighting can't be switched on in levels ie plinth, counter level and then the ceiling.
Mrs Gahagan
May 2019
The house should have been cleaner.. Dusty and hairy in some areas. Decor needs refreshing in areas. A small hole cut in cupboard surround to stick hand in to switch on downstairs bathroom light! Glass pane in kitchen door broken. Wardrobe area in upstairs double bedroom grubby and unpleasant. We chose not to use it. Wakened at 4.45 every morning by resident pheasant in garden. Bedside lamp in downstairs bedroom not working. This is not up to usual standards we have experienced with Sykes cottages. We did enjoy our holiday in this beautiful area and views from the house were spectacular.
