Maybe not the best situated though not badly situated .. there’s more than Ben Nevis in the area.. And maybe, at first glance not the most aesthetically pleasing either … But again it has its own unpretentious charm which I sort of associate with my few visits to Scotland.. But it’s sort of unique in my own mind .. The owners are cool, just ask if you want anything, leave you alone if you don’t… They’re friendly enough without being overbearing.. But from a personal perspective it’s one of the few places I’ve been in my life and felt that sort of calmness where you’re completely blank in thought through lack of stress.. I’ve been wild camping on many occasions throughout my life and have felt that peace in isolation but never in a populated place.. Would definitely stay there again if it didn’t take 10+ hours to drive.. All the best to the owners..

Lovely comfortable cabin with everything needed for a peaceful away from it all holiday whilst being close enough to to amenities of Fort Wm.. Maybe just a couple of notes to say where the bins are located and any recycling bin/s.

This lodge was perfect for our needs.. First I should start by saying there is Wi-Fi, which was a pleasant surprise as it states on the website there is no Wi-Fi. The lodge was cosy and comfortable. It's in a tranquil setting, with 5 lodges set around a big, neat grass area. This is where we could watch the owners friendly dogs play and the hens pecked. It was so relaxing and peaceful we could pretend there was no pandemic! Also we could hear the steam train and see it's steam. From our back windows we had a great view of Ben Nevis. There is a co-op in walking distance and most hikes and walks only a short car ride away. The £1 coin meter was preloaded with £7, which we didn't actually all use up. We had fine weather for September.

Lovely and peaceful, hosts delightful.. Rabbits, dogs and chickens a change from the norm. The dogs were great as my daughter missed our own pooch. A fabulous time had by all, only thing missing was a dryer but not missed that much. Great for Potter fans as the train goes under the bridge at the end of the lane( yes that steam train that goes over the viaduct). A super stay!

Really nice landlady who was very helpful.. It was a pity that building work behind the chalet woke us earlier than normal and went on all day. In addition the floodlight shining directly into the bedroom all night prevented me from using the main bedroom. Was able to use one bedroom and the lounge wasn't too bad so slept on the floor in there behind the sofa. Nevertheless the chalet was clean and nicely decorated. The local shops were good and friendly and did not mind us requesting all our change in pound coins. Overall a nice break and Fort William is a good centre from which to explore that part of the Highlands.

There was no central heating and coin meter system was extremely annoying, cottage got freezing cold during the night time and electric heaters provided would consume units within minutes.. Nobody keeps enough coins in their wallet( 30-40) all the time. we spent nearly 50-pound coins and all night long our only concern was to keep the cottage warm for two kids, who slept in their jumpers with the warm bottle for the first time in their life

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here at glen dessery and the surrounding area is absolutely stunning, a stone’s throw away from Ben Nevis Mountain and the supermarket.. The house was lovely and peaceful, for animal lovers there are animal’s onsite and they are very friendly these included dog’s cats rabbits and chickens, and didn’t hear them at all. All the facilities in the house were working the cooker had only 3 working rings which made cooking a bit more difficult but for those who only cook for a few nights this is no problem. Also the people in the area are lovely and very welcoming including the animals  Overall I would highly recommend staying at glen dessery, I know we will be in the future

Due to an unforseen event we weren't able to stay at Glen Dessary on our start date. Jennifer Campbell made every effort to find a replacement for us until we could move in. Whilst walking up Ben Nevis on the Saturday I even had a text message asking if we were OK? I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a stay in the area not too far away from First William itself but a nice setting.

Beautiful setting with chickens, ducks and geese to greet you and freshly laid eggs in the mornings were delightful. The owners of the property were extremily helpful and catered our medical needs, taking delivery and storing some medial equipment prior to our arrival. The location of the property is excellent for exploring the west highlands and the islands.

The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful and made us feel very much at home. The chalet was comfortable with a good range of equipment. The only real complaint was a slight lack of storage space for luggage. Location was good as there were shops and restaurants within easy reach for everyday shopping and meals out in the evening. All in all we had a very enjoyable week.
