We all had a fantastic time staying in our lovely cosy cottage for the week.. The village was very quaint and the surrounding areas were very picturesque. It was a fantastic place to relax and get away from our hectic lives.

This is a wonderful holiday area, lots to do and see but still possible to find secluded bays and beaches.. Woodland walks are wonderful, so much wildlife to watch and again so quiet and peaceful. We also found plenty of really good places to eat and shop. The cottage was well up to standard, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Even the weather was brilliant.

Had a great time at Gled Cottage; it was all it described itself as being and more.. The cottage has excellent facilities and everything you could wish for as a holiday home including bowls, beds and towels for my dogs, it was very warm and cosy as was it's host Karen who met me upon my arrival explaining everything I needed to know about the cottage - microwave, TV, log burner, washer etc, including maps and directions for lots of dog walks in the area. Places to visit with dogs include Mossyard beach, Kirroughtree forest, Balloch woods and Galloway Forest Park - virtually all on the doorstep or just a short drive away. Everyone in the village is very friendly and ready to answer any questions about the area and where to go for a "day out". Thank you for a wonderful stay and hope to return in the not too distant future. :)

This is a beautiful renovated cottage with large garden, summerhouse and barbecue.. Karen catered for all our needs, even the dog’s. I would highly recommend this cottage. Places we visited were Laggan Outdoor Centre, Mossyard Beach and Galloway Creamery. On the day that it rained we used Castle Cary heated indoor swimming pool £1.20 for children and £1.80 for adults.

Loved this cottage, went to the cottage next door Kinnen Cottage last year which is equally as nice but now got 2 dogs and Gled Cottage is dog friendly, beautiful cottage, home from home, the owner Karen is really friendly and gave us invaluable beach recommendations and left us dog beds + bowls which cut down on our luggage, lovely places to visit round about and we love the peace and quiet of Creetown, would thoroughly recommend it!

A lovely comfortable cottage and very helpful host.. Also a beautiful sunny garden with summerhouse and very handy clothesline. Karen left us a useful and thoughtful welcome pack and it was nice to have detergent and softener provided for the washing machine too. We were also left some dog towels to use and dog bowls, and Karen would have provided a dog bed if we'd needed it. So handy not to have to load the car up with these extras. The area itself was beautiful, so many lovely places to see, we ran out of days before seeing all we wanted to, we hope to return one day.

Gled Cottage is beautiful, highest quality from oak flooring to top grade bed linen.. There was every imaginable kitchen items, I can't speak highly enough about the cleanliness and lovely touches like the welcome pack. Karen is an amazing owner, there was nothing too much trouble. My Golden Retriever was made more than welcome. The one drawback I found was the essential need for own transport. Creetown is a lovely little village (600) population. No restaurants to visit for a nice evening meal, no nice designer shops to browse around. The Lairds Inn which is about a 20 minute walk from the cottage is adequate for a drink and pub lunch, they are also dog friendly. But not for an evening meal in my opinion.

September 2015
The cottage was spacious and had a first class standard of fittings and decoration. The underfloor heating kept the rooms at an even temp day and night and if wanted there was also a log burning fire. The kitchen was well equipped and fitted out to a high standard. Everything about the cottage was first class. A great base for exploring Galloway.

The cottage was comfortable, well appointed and certainly not a typical cottage in that it was spacious, light and with high ceilings.

We rented this cottage for a week in May 2015 and found it to be beautifully renovated, comfortable and very clean. There was a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, eggs and biscuits which was a very pleasant surprise. There were only the two of us so we slept in the downstairs bedroom, although there were two more bedrooms upstairs. Probably the only criticism I would have is that there was only one bedside light and no hanging space for clothes in this room. I can understand the reason for this, however, as the big king size bed can be separated into two single beds which would leave no room for more than one bedside table and certainly no room for a wardrobe. There was a good sized chest of drawers which had to suffice unless you wanted to walk upstairs every time you needed something from a wardrobe. The location within the village was good but we were a little underwhelmed by the facilities in the area. There wasn't as much to see and do as we had hoped to find in this area. Nevertheless, the cottage itself was wonderful with possibly the only improvement being the addition of an electric clothes dryer for those travellers from overseas, like us, who have limited baggage and have wet weather to contend with.

A great cottage in a very convenient location to explore Dumfries and Galloway.

March 2015
A fantastically well appointed cottage. Obviously spent a lot of time and money on this cottage and this is shown in the high standard of finish. The underfloor heating was very effective with the added bonus of a log burning stove which we put to good use. The super king size bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was excellent with a really good shower. In a nice quiet location on the edge of the Galloway Forest. We couldn't fault anything to do with Gled Cottage.

December 2014
The owner was extremely helpful and could not have given us a warmer welcome. The little extras were a lovely surprise and very welcome. The cottage was immaculate, extremely well finished and very cosy. A lovely place to come back to and we would certainly book the same cottage again. A great location for those wishing to watch wildlife or go walking in Dumfries and Galloway.

The owner has done a 5 star job in renovating this cottage. Beautifully decorated, very good quality fixtures and fittings throughout, very well equipped kitchen and it was warm very clean. She has thought of everything you could possibly need and more. Also she was so friendly and welcoming. The cottage felt so comfortable just like being at home.

We have used Sykes on many occasions so we are aware of the quality properties they promote. Certainly Gled Cottage is up there with the best of them. Owner there to welcome us on arrival and show us around the property. Substantial welcome pack supplied. Lovely decor and furnished to a high standard. Lovely garden.

A beautiful cottage in an excellent location. Central for visiting many of the attractions in Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage was well equipped and every small detail considered to make our stay comfortable and stress free. Lovely garden, we had breakfast there each morning as the weather was good.

March 2014
It was deceptively large, extremely comfortable and finished to a very high standard. The cottage felt like home, rather than a holiday rental, with all the comforts you'd want and more. We really enjoyed our short break in Gled Cottage and I can't recommend it highly enough.
Ms Anderson-foster
September 2013
The standard of the refurb was excellent. Whilst modern it was very warm and welcoming.
