Nothing negative at all.. .....property ideal and would book again.

Beautiful bungalow with lovely views over the lake and furniture and fittings were delightful.. The only negatives were with lack of cleaning in some areas. Had a problem with emptying the bath as when full of water the plug would not release - contacted number of cleaners in folder about problem but although told to twist the chrome disc this did not work. It did however release when only a quarter filled with water. Phone signal only worked from bedrooms or outside and the same with own WIFI connection (no WIFI of their own). Was well equipped in kitchen although no plastic tumbler's, plates etc for children. Also a baking tray, microwave splatter guard and a washing up bowl (don't use a dish washer) would have been useful. Beds were really comfortable and clean. Freezer drawers really dirty as was a drawer under the hob which was really greasy inside and the kitchen sink waste plugs need a deep clean underneath.

We give Glaven a top recommendation.. Glaven is a lovely, spacious house, set back from the road, with stunning views to the south across the Dornoch Firth. At the house, there were endless opportunities to relax and be entertained; dawn light on the water, ospreys hovering for their prey and a multitude of other birds, through to spectacular sunsets over the Kyle of Sutherland. The accommodation and facilities were as described (and better) although I do think that Wi-Fi is essential nowadays, especially when mobile coverage is so patchy in the area. The village can meet all of your basic needs with a special mention for Crannag Bistro, truly exceptional food and Ardgay Game for venison and more. Lots to do in the area as well; outdoors, golf, history and heritage are all to the fore. Handy for the North Coast 500 as well!

Glaven is an exceptionally comfortable & bright holiday house.. It has really lovely views from especially the kitchen-dining room and the lounge of the westmost end of the Dornoch Firth & of mountains & skies. This is what made our holiday there so memorable.

Everything about Glaven cottage was absolutely superb, views and location were stunning, even the weather was great! !! The cottage itself was immaculate, lovely big kitchen, great lounges and 3 double beds. When I go on holiday I like to look online to see local events, places to visit, the only thing that let the cottage down(in my opinion, some people see it as a plus) was no WiFi or 4G. Overall though we loved it, Gordon & Karen Fellows
