The owner of the Garden View flat was so welcoming and eager to help, it was lovely.. The flat had everything you could wish for and I found it very comfortable and it is a brilliant location to visit the area.
I think the only downside concerned my mother, who is 93. This is not a criticism of the flat in any way, but an observation that future visitors might want to take into account. The floors, in places, are worn brick, with rugs. This made her a little hesitant to walk around on her own, but since she often needs my help now anyway, it made no difference to our enjoyment. However, I probably wouldn't book this flat again if she was with me due to this aspect. It was easy to get to the flat along the flat garden path in the front of the property but does have a couple of steps into the front room. Again, this did not concern us as my mother can still manage some steps with help, but it may not be suitable for someone who was coming alone and had mobility problems.
Please pass my thanks on to the owner and wish them well with their Sykes cottage venture. As I say, the comment above is not intended in any way as a criticism but just as a consideration if anyone with mobility problems was coming alone.
