The owners are great and very helpful.. This was our third visit to the property (which says more than words perhaps!) and it is extremely well kept. My greyhound (Frankie) loves it there, great walks and the owners are wonderful with him.

The owners were professional and friendly.. The cottage was very well decorated and this could be mentioned in the general information , as could the fact a welcome basket is provided. I would certainly stop here again

Owners were very welcoming and went out of their way to be on hand if needed! They didn’t know we had a dog with us but brought treats and dog box round the next day for Dougall. Will certainly be back.

The cottage, though small, was very well equipped and very comfortable.. Lynne and David were lovely and gave us a very warm welcome. The additional surprise of essentials of bread, butter, milk, marmalade and a cake was wonderful. The cottage was well secluded from the main house. We would have liked to have stayed for much longer!

I had a wonderful few days in Norfolk with my dog and cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough.. The owners were both welcoming and friendly and provided the essentials such as milk, butter, bread and marmalade as well as a lovely fruit cake. They have recently enclosed the property with a trellis, which provides more privacy and dog owners do not have to worry about their dog wandering into the main garden. The cottage was very comfortable and has every facility necessary, including a towel and treats for my dog. I would definitely stay at the Garden Retreat again on my next trip to Norfolk.

The owners Lynne and Dave where fantastic.. They were there when we needed them but were not at all intrusive. They are incredibly lovely people and we are already definitely looking to go back to them again. The accommodation was absolutely amazing really clean and comfortable and the area we stayed in was so friendly and accessible for other areas, we really can't say enough good things. Thank you Lynne and Dave and thank you Sykes.

5 nights stay with our pet Labrador.. David and Lynne were welcoming, friendly and helpful. They had dogs previously so was understanding of our dog's needs. There were nice touches such as a welcome 'pack' consisting of treats, clean towel, etc for the dog, local cake, fresh bread, milk, and butter provided. There is a laminated printed guide with useful info. As mentioned by other reviewers the place was very clean and tidy with amenities and facilities as described. There is a small garden with shaded area and table and chairs for al fresco dining. Local village shop/PO is a few minutes drive. Choice of dog walking areas nearby and within half hour drive. It was a restful, quiet and pleasant stay for us.

Our second visit to the Garden Retreat and again it was a lovely restful place to stay.. The garden surroundings are glorious and there are two areas in which to enjoy the sunshine and sit and have a drink. Great walks nearby for people and dogs and already thinking about our return visit.

Lovely place to stay especially if you like gardens, the interior is warm and comfortable although the bathroom is not for anyone on the large size.. Overall its top quality with all the little extras you expect like a welcome pack etc. Would be an excellent property for a hot tub as very private.

Very quiet & peaceful.. This is a great place to stay for wildlife lovers and anyone who enjoys peace & quiet. The welcome pack and ready made beds made us feel at home. The cottage is very well equipped cosy and comfortable and retains that old world charm, it has a small patio area outside the cottage, and the beautiful garden. Lynne and David are the most hospitable hosts you could wish to meet. Lynne and David give you such a warm and friendly welcome, that you start to relax from the moment you arrive. Nothing was too much trouble and they have created the perfect holiday cottage with absolutely everything you could want! Lovely setting and beautiful grounds. The cottage was comfortable, cosy and spotlessly clean. It was well-decorated and well-maintained, with a light and airy feel, especially in the living room/kitchen area. The bed was comfortable, with high-quality linen. The owners were friendly and welcoming and provided little extras, like milk, tea, bread, butter and biscuits, which made all the difference. The garden was beautiful and there were always many different types of birds around. Planting around the cottage helped to make it feel very private.

A fantastic holiday home and couple. The owners are a lovely couple making us feel more than welcome. Thank you!

October 2015
The cottage was described as a garden retreat and that is exactly what it is. A totally up to date conversion of a wooden building into a warm retreat retreat with all mod cons, the silence there is deafening! The windows look out onto a cottage garden - if it hadn't been October, I would have loved to have been able sit out side. The owners were delightful.

The Retreat was small but, as they say, perfectly formed. Set in the garden of the owners it as a little bit of paradise with the lovely garden and the birds. The owners could not have been more welcoming or helpful. A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of town life.

property is set within owners garden. They are very helpful and polite. Property is best suited to 2 adults plus 1 pet , otherwise is a little on the small side. Is very good for peaceful holiday. Everything is of good quality and in good condition. The bathroom/w.c. is on the small side so anybody of big stature might find it a squeeze. Was a very good position for touring the area.

The owners are a charming couple who couldn't have been more helpful. The Garden Retreat really is quite simply that; a retreat from the bustling lives we all lead. Gladly recommend this delightful cottage to others.

October 2014
Garden Retreat was excellently placed for exploring Suffolk and Norfolk, a short drive from the village shop, a nice pub and some wonderful walks. It was very quiet so not disturbed at all. The owners were very welcoming and helpful, supplying lots of information for us, and even a welcome pack for our dog!

Our hosts gave us a wonderful welcome. As advertised the property was small, but cosy, comfortable, and immaculate throughout. Set in a very attractive garden with a variety of birds. Everything we needed had been cleverly fitted with a loving attention to detail, there was even a box of emergency toiletry supplies. The kitchen was well stocked with good quality pans, knives and crockery, etc. We intend to return.
