Property Description

Holiday home
The lovely drive leading down to Garden Cottage sets the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Situated on a 700 acre farm, complete with its own farm shop supplying home grown produce - extra tasty sausages for those delightful and leisurely holiday breakfasts. "Garden Cottage, the latest addition to Bodior, renovated to a high standard and within 2 miles of the lovely beaches of Rhoscolyn and, of course, The White Eagle, beloved by both locals and visitors!" Drawing on past experience of providing holiday accommodation, this semi-detached holiday cottage has everything you will need. The ground floor has an open plan layout, with easy access to the peaceful, rear garden enabling guests to socialise easily. With oak floors, comfy sofas and beds, a pretty natural garden the birds enjoy (I spotted a hare on my visit!), you will be sure to unwind here. Garden Cottage is just a few miles from the seaside village of Rhoscolyn on the west coast of Anglesey, where you can enjoy miles of sandy beaches, great walks and a variety of adventure activities.

Area
Located on Holy Island, three miles from Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn is a small village with a church and primary school and is the most southerly place on Holy Island. Rhoscolyn also offers an excellent pub on the lane down to the beach, which is renowned for its gastro food, and the beach itself with its slipway, ideal for small dinghies and power boats, is a popular family destination throughout the summer owing to the sheltered cove and gently sloping sands. Also excellent cliff-top walks can be enjoyed and an abundance of wildlife can be seen, often including seals on the headland. Just two miles away is the village of Valley, which has a Post Office, chemist, shops and eating places, plus the nearby resort of Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of the island and is truly beautiful with a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine Blue Flag sandy beaches. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, supermarkets, harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. Watersports, bathing, sailing, windsurfing and horse riding are the main activities in the summer months, plus golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course, and the area is also a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve. An excellent location with plenty to see and do!

You undersold the location which was wonderful - to be on the edge of a woodland, to have 3 hare in the garden, to be able to watch a parent woodpecker feed its' young and enjoy a beer in the garden after a wonderful day walking was heavenly.. The cottage groundsman, Phil, was extremely helpful and lent us books showing us walks to try - we did 5 of them and they were superb. in addition, the cottage was less than 2 miles from a great pub/restaurant - lunches and evening meals - top stuff! You may want to update your directions on finding the cottage (there are no signs to 'Farm Shop') - not a big deal, but helpful to travel weary guests. Loved ever minute of our stay.
