September 2020
Our hosts were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.. The cottage was quite remote, which we liked, but still within easy reach of local towns and amenities. The cottage was very well equipped and cosy and warm - a real home from home! A great base for going out and exploring the vast local landscape. Based on our holiday experience, we would highly recommend this cottage!

Cosy but spacious cottage in a fantastic setting.. Being surrounded by livestock was a bonus. The views are to die for. The proximity of so many fantastic locations was excellent. The help and friendliness of the owners representatives, Kerry and Keith could not be faulted. The only possible issue, and not the owners responsibility, is the access from Sledgate Lane onto the main road. Better signage by the local council is needed to make passing motorists aware of the opening! Overall Fantastic!!!

Beautiful location.. Extremely friendly and obliging hosts. Just needs a few small necessities for late arriving overseas guests, such as milk, tea and coffee, otherwise everything was up to the standard we have come to expect when staying at any of Sykes cottages.

The owners were delightful. We loved the ducks, hens, cockerels, sheep and Jack and Daniel the donkeys. The location had beautiful views and surroundings and was particularly interesting if you are interested in industrial history. Particularly enjoyed Holmfirth.

Foxstone Edge is a lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. There were fantastic walks straight from the door and incredible views. We were entertained daily by the fabulous ducks and donkeys. The cottage was comfortable and cosy, the owners are lovely people, very friendly and keen to make us feel welcome. The surrounding area is brilliant for walking, we especially loved the Huddersfield Canal walks. A lovely holiday, thank you!
