The cottage was so beautifully decorated and provided everything we needed.. It was cosy and warm and in the perfect spot for us to explore the area. We felt welcome and the owners had even provided treats for our dogs, often 'dog friendly' is not truly friendly. It was easy to book and contact the oweners when we had a question. This is the second time I have booked through Sykes and will definately do so again.

Was just me, my hubby and our pooches wanting a nice quiet Christmas away and that's exactly what we got :-) Although we didn't meet the owners, we got such a lovely warm welcome because the heating was on and there was a lamp lit and some fairy lights on, a lovely christmas tree in corner with flickering lights, even a present each under it, was such a lovely touch it actually brought tears to my eyes.. Owner even went out of her way to find out the opening times of the local shops, with being christmas i was a little worried they would be shut so i rang and she sorted it no problem. Very cosy and clean cottage and would definitely recommend. Thank you so much x

Our cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed during our week's stay.. We were impressed by the welcoming touches on arrival - milk in the fridge and some biscuits and jams as well as biscuits for the dog. The cottage was cosy and warm with central heating, and the enclosed rear garden was great for the dog. We were able to park the car right outside the cottage, which was convenient. As an added bonus, the neighbours were also very welcoming. Overall, a great place to stay and good value.

The cottage was lovely with nice welcoming touches.. There are loads of walks in the local area, meaning we hardly had to use the car at all. Everybody, specially the neighbours were friendly and helpful.

Lovely host very friendly and helpful, really enjoyed the jams and shortbread and the dog's loved their treats.. Added bonus was that the shower now has a new pump and is FABULOUS, though don't run the kitchen tap at the same time! The cottage is a great base for exploring both the dales and the lakes. we managed so much walking even our somewhat chunky spaniel has lost some weight.

The cottage was even better that we anticipated, gorgeous decor and really comfortable beds.. The shower didn't work but I've since been advised the owner is replacing it next week which will make the cottage just perfect for a break in the countryside. We walked up to Clapham village which is about 25 mins walk up a quiet country lane. Great location to explore the surrounding hills. I would definitely book again.

Lovely cottage very cosy and welcoming to dogs.. Greeted with complimentary shortbread and preserves. Good location for exploring. Only downside was it was a bit cold in the cottage (it was freezing outside to be fair) and the shower is useless, have a nice hot bath instead.

What a great hidden gem of cottage! My partner and I, and our Springer Spaniel Oscar, had a great week stay in late January. The cottage was warm, cosy, very well appointed, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean, not to mention a great base for exploring the local area. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, utensils etc., and also had everything that we might have needed for the dog too; if we had forgotten anything it would not have been a problem. The shortbread and preserves were also a nice touch, and the shortbread was great with a warming cup of tea after a cold winter walk! The cottage is in a very quiet location, but not too far from basic local amenities, and only a short drive from a supermarket; we found it to be a perfect base for a peaceful, relaxing week to unwind. The only downside was the low water pressure in the shower; but we just had soaks in the bath instead, which added to the relaxation, so not a big deal for us! We would (and I'm sure will) definitely stay again; and I would recommend to anyone looking a for a place in the area.

Lovely cottage.. Very clean. Lovely decor. Only negative was the shower- very low pressure which made it very difficult. Maybe an electric shower would work better. Would use and recommend cottage again.

The Yorkshire Dales is the most wonderful place for walking and scenery.. The cottage was great for our needs and very comfortable. The only thing that detracted from an excellent rating was the lack of a decent shower. Trying to balance the hot and cold taps was very difficult and there was insufficient flow from the shower head.

Great cottage, good location.. Pet friendly. Enjoyed the walk to Ingleborough Cave from the cottage, visited Ribblesdale viaduct, Skipton and enjoyed Sunday lunch at Tan Hill Inn

We had a great time in the cottage.. But unfortunately one of our dogs got ill that's when we realised it would have been good to have a list of local emergency phone numbers. But other than that thank you all at sykes cottages for a lovely holiday

We had a lovely stay in this great little cottage just outside of the village of Clapham.. It is on the door step of the amazing Yorkshire dales and Forest of Bowland with spectacular caves and mountain walks accessible from the village and a regular train route on the doorstep that takes you to the lovely coast if you want a gentle day out. The cottage was very clean, cosy and compact with good facilities, tasteful decoration and everything that we needed ranging from picnic equipment and BBQ through to dog bowls/biscuits for our dog. We loved siting in the sheltered garden at the end of the day to unwind and relax . We had great weather but all Wi-Fi/TV etc. was efficient and there if you needed it for rainy days. The owners and neighbours were absolutely fabulous ensuring we felt very welcome and went over and beyond to be helpful with any queries. Clapham village is stunning and has an amazing community- run shop as well as a locals bar and really interesting antique/vintage shop as well as good eateries. Both the cottage and location were ideal for a very relaxing and happy week. A big thank you - hope to come back at a different time of year.

The cottage was tastefully decorated and the personal touches just added to it, the flowers, welcoming greeting on blackboard , doggie biscuits and pooh bags and the milk .. Location good for travelling to lots of places of interest and the neighbours were very friendly, the only down side was the weather , which can't be arranged !

A super little cottage and a perfect location for walking the Yorkshire Dales.. Beautifully decorated, modern fittings, lots of storage space, outstanding kitchen facilities, beautiful garden, very quiet. However, bedrooms and bathroom were rather cramped. The bed in the double room was very close to the wall on one side. Consequently my husband and I decided to sleep in separate rooms ( and we are not big people!) This did not spoil our holiday at all and we would definitely consider staying there again.
