Lovely location for walking, with good views of the pond.. Parking is right outside the cottage which is handy. Great butchers and plant nursery in the village, both worth a visit. Unfortunately cottage was a bit damp and slightly musty in all the rooms and there was no hoover.

The cottage was very comfortable, and its location was perfect - Tissington is a delightful village and the Christmas event at the Hall was an added bonus!

Lovely property set in an ideal location, take away the cars and you could be 100 years back in time - unspoilt. The cottage was lovely and clean and very comfortable, there could have been a little more kitchen equipment, e.g sieve, baking dishes and perhaps more literature on bin collections etc but these are only small issues, it did not spoil our week

Cottage was spotlessly clean and very spacious and well furnished. The kitchen was new and modern and equipped with everything you would need. The big bedroom had a very comfortable king size bed, with a large en-suite bathroom. The whole property had a very light and airy feeling, while still managing to retain a cozy cottage atmosphere. It has a great location in the estate village of Tissington, opposite the village duck pond and just around the corner from your neighbours in Tissington Hall. The ducks on the pond provide plenty of simple entertainment, as well as vocal accompaniment to a leisurely breakfast. There are plenty of walks directly from the cottage along the Tissington Trail and into Dove Dale, and the local bus service comes in handy for "one way" walks. We had a great weekend at Fire Brigade Barn and hope to stay again. It's great for Spring and Summer when you can be out all day and during light evenings, and also for lazy days and cozy evenings indoors in Winter.
