Mary and Sean, the hosts who live next door to the property, were extremely helpful and friendly without being intrusive.. The garden leads down to the marina and the view from the sunrooms at the front of the house of the marina is really lovely. Ideally situated for exploring what Clare has to offer, which is much! It's a short drive into Kilkee and the magnificent cliffs en route to Loop Head.

Hosts Mary and Seán are so welcoming.. In the difficult times currently with the pandemic, social distancing etc there were extra facilities in the accomodation, hand sanitisers and a stock of latex gloves. The accomodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The view of the marina is lovely, especially in the early morning and the house is perfectly situated, only a few minutes stroll to either the main street in Kilrush or the pier and rockshore at Cappagh. We were fortunate to have lots of good weather but during a rainy day the 2 conservatories are a delightful spot to curl up with a good book.

The house keeper next to property made us feel very welcome.. Location was quiet as property is at back of house keepers house and a beautiful view from Marina. Not too far from Cappagh beach and shops and about 20 minutes to Kilkee.

Ferry Cottage was lovely.. Spotlessly clean and spacious. The views across the Marina were beautiful too and the town was in easy walking distance. The owner's were so friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We were able to get to Killarney for a day because the Ferry across the water was just a few miles away and cut down on the travelling time. We would certainly go back there.

Ferry Lodge is beautifully situated, with views of the Marina and within a easy walking distance of Kilrush Town and the Pier and shoreline at Cappagh.. Owners Mary and Seán are the soul of hospitality.

It exceeded expectations from the information given on the booking.. The Cottage had a lovely view over the marina and out to sea, from the conservatory(one of two Conservatories) . It was extremely clean and hospitable on arrival. The cottage was quiet, yet only 5 minutes walk from the shops, restaurants, and pubs in Kilrush, Co. Clare. It is also a great base to explore the Wild Atlantic Way on the west coast of Ireland. I would also recommend the day excursion to Scattery island from the Marina.

The location of Ferry Lodge is beautiful beside the Shannon river.. It is quiet and peaceful and very restful. The hosts Mary and Sean are most hospitable and welcoming. It is a pleasure to meet them and to get to know them. This is my second year staying in Ferry Lodge and I would love to stay there again.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the property.. The location is good - on the outskirts of the town, with the garden fronting onto the harbour. The sun lounges are great places to relax. There are pleasant local walks and there is easy access to the Loop Head peninsula and, a little further afield, the Cliffs of Moher. Mary and Sean were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay - always willing for a chat or to advise without being intrusive.

Ideally situated for exploring Co Clare.. Mary and Sean, the owners (who live next door) were extremely helpful (e.g. advising us to explore the quiet cliffs at Kilkee with free parking rather than the very busy and expensive Cliffs of Moher). Great view from conservatory. Has Wi-fi though not advertised.

WE ENJOYED OUR WEEK FOR A SECOND YEAR WITH SEAN & MARY AT FERRY LODGE.. JUST THE RIGHT SIZE F0R TWO. THE TWO SOLARIUMS AND THEIR VIEW OF THE KILRUSH SAILBOAT MARINA ARE SO RELAXING. THE TABLE IS GREAT FOR OUR NIGHTLY CANASTA GAMES & TV. THE WEATHER WAS LOVELY AND WE HAD A GREAT BOAT TRIP FROM THE MARINA TO SCATTERY ISLAND. THEY HAVE A WONDERFUL BOOK OF A MAN'S LIFE ON SCATTERY AND IT'S HISTORY. THERE IS A GOOD PAVED WALK TO THE CAPPA PIER OR TO KILRUSH TOWN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION FROM THE HOME. THE WALLED GARDENS ARE GREAT AS IS THE CITY WALK FROM THERE. THANK TOU AGAIN MARY & SEAN. SEE YOU AGAIN FROM FLORIDA NEXT YEAR. MARY JO & DAVID

The accommodation and location was fantastic, beautiful views and very spacious accommodation nothing was missing, everything was to hand.. Bed was great and very comfortable. Shower Room, large with walk in shower and spotless. Together with large kitchen/ lounge area, very comfortable again spotless and very well fitted out, cooker, microwave etc. The two sun lounges were very comfortable and most welcome when weather is not great. The most important part was the owners Mary and her husband Sean, they were so kind and friendly and went out of their way to help us enjoy our holiday and they did it very well. This was the most enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable holiday that we have had for many years and would recommend it to anyone who is going to Southern Ireland to try Ferry Lodge the welcome is fantastic the accommodation is top class and the area is great to visit brilliant coast line, beaches etc within about 10 mins drive and plenty of supermarkets in the town of Kilrush, together with local butchers, bakers, chemists so everything is on the door step. We will put Ferry Lodge, Kilrush on the top of our list of places to revisit hopefully in the next year. Well worth the Visit.

We would recommend Ferry Lodge Cottage for a wonderful holiday in County Clare.. Mary and Sean made us so welcome that when it came time to go we felt we were leaving "family" behind. Ferry Lodge makes a great centre for touring around the beautiful Atlantic Wild Coast and countryside. The cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable holiday. The kindness and caring of the owners Mary and Sean is just what we needed to make our holiday the best we have had for a long time. The nearest shop is within walking distance and sells all you may need. We would recommend Ferry Lodge ++++

Mary & Sean (the owners) were exceptional.. As I am diabetic and use insulin it has to be kept cold whilst traveling, so I always carry a cold bag with freezer packs in side, and Mary was kind enough to freeze them down for me in her home freezer, before we started our journey home. every thing about the cottage was excellent, and spotlessly clean.

It was a fantastic holiday, Wi Fi was available in the cottage, Mary & Sean were most helpful, inc lending us a vase to put some flowers in that friends (that live in Kilkee) had bought us round for our anniversary, They also gave us a dvd they had made of places of interest in and around County Clare..

The fixtures and fittings are rather dated and worn, but this is more than made up for by the two fabulous sitting areas overlooking the garden and marina.. A great place to relax, read a book and watch the sun go down. An easy, pleasant walk into the town for supermarkets, restaurants and shops.

Ferry Lodge was in a lovely location.. I enjoyed the two sun-filled rooms overlooking the sailboats moored across in the marina and being able to sketch them in any weather. My husband especially enjoyed walking along a sidewalk into town or in reverse to the lifeboat station/park with the "Winkleman Statue". We always enjoy cooking our meals with Irish meat & fresh produce, grocery was within walking distance. Kitchen was well appointed and it was fun playing cards or watching tv in the kitchen/dining/ lounge and looking out upon the garden through the glassed wall. The bedroom was very comfortable and also had a view of the garden. Intend to return.

We are so pleased to be able to give feedback on our holiday.. It was a very long drive down from Lisburn N/Ireland, and when we arrived we were greeted by Mary with a lovely warm welcome and smile. Mary asked us did we have milk for a cup of tea and we told her that we were going to unpack and then find a shop which sold milk. She said "don't you worry I can give you some", and she came out with a jug of milk:) so we could have our cuppa,:) We loved our stay and we were well looked after by Mary and Sean. They are such lovely warm kind people, who went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay at Ferry Lodge. The Lodge is so lovely and relaxing and the bed is so comfortable. There is everything there that you will need for your stay. The view from the Lodge is so beautiful and we felt so relaxed while there and all through our stay. We had a lovely warm goodbye as well when we were leaving to come home again. We drove away with a really happy frame of mind and we were so refreshed and relaxed. We would recommend staying at Ferry Lodge to anyone who wants to come to County Clare. There are so many beautiful places to visit and experience that they are too numerous to mention, and we would come back again for sure. A beautiful friendly part of the world, and we will always remember the kindness and warmth our hosts showed to us.:)
