Fern house is a beautiful cottage that is very well equipped with every thing you need to enjoy a relaxing stay.. The bed is very comfortable and it is so quiet we slept very soundly, the shower is also spacious and envigourating, also the log burner was very cozy with an abundance of logs supplied. There was a lovely hamper to welcome us and the owner Judith was really nice and friendly. The village has two pubs very closeby with the Sun inn being a very welcoming place with lots of friendly locals which is also very dog friendly which our border terrier really enjoyed. We would definately go back again and explore the region some more. the cottage also has the bonus of a lovely neighbour in the shape of Peter, a real nice character.

What a beautiful cottage, comfy bed, great shower and a lovely friendly village.. Fern House was immaculately clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. We stayed for three nights but there was plenty of cupboard space for longer. We didn't have a chance to use the log burner but it's a great feature. Our dog loved sleeping in the larder and was really at home. We ate in The Lion one night then fish and chips in the other pub for another and on the last night got to use the electric Aga which was simple to use for a novice like me and I found fab. Although Judi is an absent owner, she called me almost immediately after booking and was really friendly, making sure that I'd received all the details. She told me all about the area, the pubs and places to walk our dog. We had the pleasure of meeting her after we had checked out and returned to our car after having taken Monty for a walk in the meadow and she was lovely. The wifi was excellent, ours was a business stay so that was very appreciated but the cottage was very relaxing and we would definitely book again for a longer stay. I mustn't forget the very generous welcome basket which I forgot to thank Judi for when we met her, the eggs were wonderful!

My dog and I had a wonderful 3 night stay at Fern Cottage.. It was super cosy and comfy, loved the sunny garden, wood burning stove with plenty of wood available, great fish & chips just round the corner, a thriving village and gorgeous walks direct from the village or a short drive into the heart of the Shropshire Hills. Also visited two nearby National Trusts, Croft Castle and Brockhamptom Estate, both delightful and with long walks through verdant park and farmland. Ancient trees abounding!

The house is very well equiped and beautifully decorated with plenty of interesting period features including an inglenook fireplace that make it a real treat to stay in. When we arrived the property was very clean and well presented as well as being nice and warm (we stayed for a weekend in February). The small, pituresque town has plenty amenities. As well as shops there are two pubs, one serving food and the other historic parlour pub allows you to take in fish and chips from the great chippy next door. We also made use of the selection of walks and maps that are in the house although our following of routes had a bit to be desired. The walks take you out by either of the rivers and cater for the stroll, the hiker or those who 'freestyled'.

We spent 4 days over Christmas at Fern Cottage which was delightful.. The cottage was very comfortable , warm and cosy with the wood burner, and well equipped. Judith went to a lot of trouble to contact us before our stay to ask if we wanted Christmas decorations , which were just right. She gave us lots of useful information about where to eat . We arrived to find a lovely welcome pack of goodies and even poo bags, treats and a bed for the dog. I would highly recommend this cottage for a stay in a beautiful area of the country.

We chose Fern House as it was dog-friendly.. Full of charm and character inside with a very comfortable bed and modern bathroom with large shower unit. The living room has a beautiful Inglenook with an almost new wood burner but very much in keeping. Leintwardine was unknown to us before but proved an excellent base for visiting the area with a charming multi-arched bridge over the fast-flowing river Teme. Just 8 miles from Ludlow or Knighton. The village itself has an excellent restaurant/Pub (The Lion) with riverside garden, very friendly staff and a separate entrance for dogs and their owners. We found the food to be excellent. The adjacent garage and local shop is well stocked with a surprising array of staples and more. We didn't get a chance to visit the tea rooms or the excellent looking local butcher but we did go mad and have fish and chips from the smartest looking chippy I can recall seeing. Again we didn't visit the "famous" parlour pub - that will have to wait. All of these amenities are within a 2 minute walk of Fern House cottage which lies in an street running parallel to the main road through the village, so we were untroubled by any traffic noise. The local church is close and bell-ringing between 8-9pm cannot be "shut-out".

Fern House was a lovely, comfortable cottage in a very friendly village.. The bed was comfy and the cottage had everything needed for a week away. The owner was also very attentive and we are very grateful for the goodies that were left for us. We had a great time walking in the local area and visiting the local pubs. The Lion for good food and scenic riverside benches, or The Sun beer garden, when warm. Also The Sun allows dogs inside which was great for us to take our whippet Gryff. The Fiddlers Elbow chippy is fantastic and you can order your fish and chips and eat them in The Sun beer garden or by the river on the green. Would definitely return for further walking and relaxing.

Fern Cottage is a fantastic holiday let.. It is furnished to a high standard and maintains a warm, homely feel. Fresh flowers and a lovely hamper welcomed us with milk in the fridge ready for a cuppa! This is genuinely a dog friendly cotrage with towels and a bed provided and a stone tiled floor makes for an easy clean. Shared access through the neighbours rear garden is not a problem since they are friendly and like dogs! It is a pleasure to recommend this cottage and village.

Fern House is a little gem in Herefordshire.. The cottage is lovely and exactly what we expected. From the welcoming phone call to locking the door to leave to return home our holiday experience was fantastic. The neighbours and village folk were friendly and welcoming and the area has lots of interesting things to do, whether it be shopping, walking, cultural events or eating out. As a couple we felt really at home and hope to return to Fern House again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Fern House.. The cottage was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and had quality fittings. It’s in a lovely, friendly village with a great pub and restaurant. The owner had left fresh flowers and a welcome basket with local produce in it. I would have no hesitation in recommending Fern House to others.

A beautiful, old, cosy oak-beamed cottage in a picture-postcard village street with gorgeous salmon river at the bottom by the village green.. Like stepping back to a simpler time. Yet with all essential modern home amenities. Lovely rooms, comfortable beds, lounge with feature fireplace. Country kitchen. Sun-trap of a rear patio garden. Everything we needed. And there's such a lot of interest in the surrounding area! We will certainly be back to idyllic Fern House...

The cottage was lovely.. The owner was great at leaving information and the hamper was really appreciated. Even the neighbours were friendly and would let the dogs come through to their garden via the gate. Everything we needed was on hand in this lovely little village. Both the cottage and the village was extremely dog friendly. I will definitely be booking again.
