After a year of lockdown and life being stressful my husband stumbled across this adorable quaint cottage on the Internet . We were so thrilled to get a booking so early with the lifting and have just got back from a 3 night stay. Oh gosh it is so lovely, the beams and brickwork give it such a charm. It has everything you need, spotless and just awesome sitting outside with the young cows in the field. There is lovely walks (unless you are like me and get your boot stuck) . We have had such a fun time. Saw deer, Hare, woodpeckers, duck. The peace there is exactly what you need. The farmers Julie & Tony have done a brilliant job, and extremely friendly. Thank you.

We had a wonderful time.. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and spacious. When we needed something, Julie and Tony had already thought to provide it. Our hosts were very friendly, but not intrusive. We particularly enjoyed exploring the woods on the farm, the wellies provided were essential for their enjoyment. Its a wonderful location with lots of lovely places nearby. The perfect spot to "get away from it all".

We were very impressed with the property and the furnishings.. The owners Julie and Tony were very friendly and helpful. I left a valuable ring and they very kindly returned this to me much to my relief,. The cottage was very cosy and well equipped. The walks nearby were enjoyable and on the doorstep. The woods were unspoilt and the view at 'the edge' was so serene. We were very grateful for the welcome pack. Would recommend this property and hope to return ourselves one day. I particularly enjoyed watching the birds in the early mornings and visiting the calves. The name Faraway cottage is a perfect description and we felt very rested and relaxed.

Had such a lovely time here from being a townie to coming into the country for some peace and quiet. Feeding the calfs is just 1 of the amazing benefits of this place, it's beautiful, quiet and in the not too far from Scotland and the Lake District. I would 100% recommend this place for anyone just wanting that time away for something different. You have the option of relating in front of the fire with a glass if bubbly or heading to the district for some water sports and different forms of activities. The owners are lovely very welcoming and happy to talk to you and help in anyway with your stay. We wish them all the best with their new business venture and hoping to visit again soon.

What a lovely place Faraway cottage is - so peaceful and restful! Truly an amazing place to stay. The cottage was decorated so beautifully and with such high end fittings, it really made our stay very comfortable! Location is very tranquil and close to Hadrian's wall (approximately 30-40 minutes drive away). Tony and Julie were wonderful hosts! Very accommodating, friendly and helpful! Would definitely re-book again!!

The cottage is surrounded by amazing countryside in a fabulous location with breathtaking views down by the river. Its a great base to explore places such as Keswick, Grasmere and surrounding villages. Tony & Julie are fabulous hosts and very accommodating. . . Nothing is too much trouble, genuinely nice people! The cottage is restful and wonderfully decorated to a high standard with all the mod cons that you could want. Can't wait to come back!!

Well, what can I say about this property but Wow! The owners Tony and Julie are very welcoming hosts who make you feel very at home as soon as you arrive. The addition of a bottle of prosecco and a cake on arrival is a lovely touch! One of the highlights of our trip was being able to feed the calves. This property is in a brilliant location with easy access to Hadrian's wall, Kielder forest, Carlisle and Hexham. In addition to this is the woodland that surrounds the farm makes for a lovely place to explore with access to the nearby river. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet retreat in the country.

Faraway Cottage is a gorgeous place to stay, it is slightly more remote than we are used to, but still only a few miles drive from various town centers.. This was a very relaxing stay for us, but far from boring! We were given the opportunity to meet some lovely little baby cows, we bumped into some deer, we went fishing on the river for a morning/afternoon, and despite not catching supper, it was a beautiful place to spend the day. We also visited Carlisle, and made a trip to Edinburgh during our short stay too. This cottage is a perfect place to come 'home' to after you've finished exploring for the day, it is wonderfully clean, and finished to an excellent standard. If you ask us, being able to sit in front of the fire in the evening, and having a coffee in the morning overlooking the fields were our favorite parts of each day. Tony & Julie are great people too, very warm, welcoming, and helpful - Tony even took the time to guide us down to the river. We don't usually visit the same place twice, but we both enjoyed our time here so much, that we will be booking again!

Tony and Julie have a beautiful cottage on their working farm.. The cottage was comfortable, well laid out and a perfect retreat away from the city. They were very welcoming and left some goodies for our arrival. We walked around their land, down to the river following their suggested route and saw lots of wildlife Inc wild deer. We were able to help feed the calves one night as well. We took a trip to Hadrian's wall, Derwent water and Carlisle which are all short drives away. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life this is the perfect retreat. It's cosy and quiet and a beautiful part of England. Very recommended and thank you for your hospitality.
