Lovely welcome with home made cake and tea things laid out and fresh flowers everywhere.. The owners were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely gorgeous cottage and everything was spotless.

Faith Cottage is a fantastic cottage.. So beautifully prepared by the owners, they really do go more than the extra mile to make the house great. We had such a special and peaceful time at this cottage, as it is in a quiet location and the owners have everything so wonderfully prepared. There really is every utensil you could possibly want! The fresh flowers prepared for us in the rooms was just lovely. We so enjoyed our stay and would love to return. The area is great too, many wonderful places to visit. I don't think we have visited a better cottage. We absolutely loved it.

This Chocolate Box cottage is as lovely as the photo. Cosy, yet spacious rooms with tasteful decor, very comfy beds and large kitchen with every utensil you would ever need. Very large gardens with trees and lovely countryside views. Well placed for Bury St Edmunds, which is a very nice town just a few miles away with good shops and a very interesting Abbey and grounds. Close to lovely Suffolk villages like historic Lavenham and Constable country of Dedham and Flatford. You will not be disappointed with Faith Cottage - a perfect place for a peaceful and very interesting holiday. The owners have worked very hard to get it to this standard, all credit to them. Great place to stay!

This was one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in quite a few! ) It was immaculately presented, beautifully secluded and yet well accessible to the attractions we wanted to visit. The owners left us a delightful starter pack of food and goodies some of which lasted us for the whole week. The thatched cottage has been so well restored as well. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely location, quiet - apart from bird song! Beautiful exterior and gardens - thatched cottage. Very helpful owner. Incredible extras - like welcome pack, fruit, chocolates etc. Our only worry were the very steep stairs to upstairs and tight landing, tricky for those of us with dodgy knees! Also only bathroom - downstairs. An extra toilet would be really useful especially if several people staying there. But appreciate it is a difficult building to put in these helpful things! Thank you.

My family and I had the most amazing time at Faith Cottage and are already thinking about when we can go back.. The cottage is even more beautiful in real life and all the thoughtful touches left by the owners make for the most wonderful stay!

This was the first time we'd used Sykes and the first time we'd booked a cottage.. Wuthin half an hour of walking in the front door my girlfriend and I had already decided we were coming back. The place was lovely and the owners very nice people. No doubt we will try other places but my girlfriend and I have decided this is our 'default' getaway we'll come back to again and again.

Carol and Collins passion for the cottage shows in all everything that is presented.. The cottage for us, was the quintessential way to start our UK holiday. For us, we where using it as a base to visit the surrounding highlights but the cottage would also be suited to a quiet getaway being located in a very serene setting. Sykes cottages help and added local information provided was welcome for someone not familiar with the area.

The owners did everything they could, to make it a lovely holiday for all the people who go there..

Everything was lovely, but there is lack of heating in the bedrooms, a factor if staying there in cold weather..

Stayed with my sister and a friend. The cottage is over and above what we expected. So well-equipped & comfortable. We have no hesitation in recommending the cottage for a peaceful stay in the country.

This is a fantastic holiday cottage, from the outside it is chocolate box beautiful.. So peaceful set back from the road so no traffic noise. Inside it has every thing you need and more. The furnishings of very good quality and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable, my wife and I had great nights sleep. There is every kitchen utensil that you will ever need, and plenty of crockery and cutlery. There is every a very high quality (so not dish washer safe) dinner and tea service. If you stay with children there is many outdoor, including an Wendy house and table tennis table and indoor board games, along with a large number of DVDs. The log burner in the lounge makes for a cosy evenings when it is cold outside. Logs are provide by the owners Colin and Carol, who live just across the lane. They are very welcoming and very accommodating without being intrusive to you holiday. We had a wonderful break in Faith Cottage and really highly recommend the whole experience. We have been here many times, both in the winter and the summer. This has been a refreshing haven for us both as a couple and with our two children. In the Summer you can really appreciate the grounds and in the winter its great to curl up with the warmth of a log fire. Carol and Colin help make your visit easy and relaxing as they present this in perfect condition with all stocked crockery and cooking facilities. The local woodland area, just a walk down the lane this all adds to the Charm and beauty of Smallwood Green. We totally recommend this cottage for relaxing and refreshing the soul as a break from all our busy lives.

We are just returning from an amazing 2 weeks at Faith COTTAGE. Not only does it look beautiful but inside it is so well equipped. Carol and Colin have spent a long time making this cottage so special for our holidays. Everywhere you look there are fields and lovely views. Perhaps one thing I should mention that we needed to go out in the car every day as the nearest pub and shop were about 1.5 miles away . However there were great places to visit...Lavenham, Suffolk Owl Sanctuary with crazy golf, Bury St Edmunds itself, Ipswich, Norwich, Banham Zoo, Kentwell Hall and Gardens and so on....... But you will thoroughly feel at home at Faith COTTAGE. THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Faith Cottage has everything you would want in a holiday cottage.. A charming, thatched cottage with a lovely big garden, every home comfort and the personal touches from the owners welcoming us to the cottage were the icing on the cake! A lovely quiet location too but a good base from which to explore the local area. The stairs are steep due to the history of the cottage, so not for everyone, but perfect for our family (children aged 7 and 9) and we can see ourselves coming back! Thank you Colin and Carol!

June 2018
We had been looking forward to staying in Faith Cottage for several months, since making our booking, but had not anticipated the extent to which our hosts would go to make our stay so pleasant! Although the nearby roads were not so good for long walks (narrow, boring and at times dangerous), Faith Cottage is well situated for visiting B st E and many fascinating old villages. Check out the old house beside Cockfield parish church! We also enjoyed meals in both pubs in Hesset (great chips in the Bear!), as well as Hartest.
Mr Ennis
May 2018
This is our second visit to Faith Cottage and it was even better than our first.. The owners provide a very high level of hospitality, from fresh flowers in every room to a cake waiting for you on the kitchen table. Beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting.
Mrs Mccormack
April 2018
Lovely cottage in a lovely location.. Owners friendly and welcoming. Lots of good things as welcome from fresh flowers to wine, cake, tea and milk. Weather was great so we loved sitting in the garden, but plenty of comfort indoors to snuggle if the weather had been bad. We will be back.
Mr Hickman
January 2018
Lovely, cosy cottage, and a very enjoyable break.. We were greeted by the owners, who were lovely and showed us around. There was everything you need for a short break away, they even left us a bowl of fruit, sweets, milk and a bottle of wine for us to enjoy which was a nice surprise, and fresh flowers in all of the rooms. The house is quite cold in the winter, but the wood burner made it nice and cosy in the evenings.
Mr Hollington
January 2018
The reason we would not re book this cottage again - The kitchen was cold, underfloor heating didn't work.. The bathroom was also uncomfortably cold. Ran out of hot water so couldnt have a shower. Towels provided were of very poor quality. Beds in the twin bedded room were very uncomfortable due to the quality of the mattresses. The springs in both mattresses could be felt.
Mrs Simons
November 2017
Perfect location to put us close to our two daughters living in the area, however Faith Cottage far exceeded our expectations.. Even in the autumn the gardens and views were stunning and the exceptional little touches, flowers, sweets, fruit etc made us feel very welcome. The furnishings are in keeping, lovely deep roll top bath, walk in shower, log burners and comfy beds all make this a very desirable holiday home.

We were welcomed with a smile and wonderful welcome, Colin and Carol have made this place a dream come true, plus all the complimentary gifts as well, we had fantastic weather and chilled out, we really did not want to leave. Thank you both for letting us share your dream home, it is a privilege and honour to have met you both. We will return at some point, hopefully during the summer months. Thank you once again Clive & Susie Buckinghamshire

The quality of the property and all the extras that the owners put in, made this the best cottage we have ever stayed in.. The garden was superb.
Mr Jones
June 2017
This cottage is superbly beautiful; the owner worked for a year and a half getting it into shape for lodgers.. Colin and his wife Carol do everything to please their guests. Fresh flowers, a warm welcome message, several breakfast items - none of this is standard procedure but it was certainly pleasant and useful for us. The cottage was spotless, the beds comfortable, the kitchen had everything (our "cook" was very happy indeed with all that was at his disposal), the surrounding nature (Bradfield Woods NR a few minutes away on foot) most agreeable (for a birdwatcher like me). Bury St Edmunds is not far, with supermarkets and several places to visit including beautiful Abbey Gardens.
Mrs Simon
April 2017
Wonderful and friendly owners who understood the meaning of child friendly.. They couldn't have been more lovely and in such a wonderful setting also. Both girls want to go back - and so do we. Such a beautiful idealistic cottage in lovely surroundings. All mod con's. again couldn't have asked for a better place - Thank you.

A beautiful thatched cottage in a lovely garden setting. This was a truly magic cottage and one that has had more photos taken of it than all the places we stayed at in Scotland and England. It was my dream to stay in a thatched cottage and that was fulfilled.

The cottage was exactly as it looked on the picture, a thatched cottage with gardens all round the property. It had two inglenook fireplaces and wood burning stoves. The kitchen was large and had everything you could need, so it was the perfect mixture of old and new.

This cottage MADE our holiday! The owner met us in the village to lead us to the cottage which was warm with a fire in the fireplace. The ambiance is just a delight and so true to the nature of the cottage. We would stay at Faith Cottage again in a heartbeat, and recommend it to any and all.

An excellent location and exactly as we thought it might be, the overall appearance of the property both inside and out was of an excellent standard. What an amazing place!! Faith Cottage is absolutely beautiful. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere and the WOW factor throughout. It has been lovingly restored to an extremely high standard by the owners, Carol and Colin, and it was a real privilege to stay there. They gave us a very warm welcome and it was a lovely surprise to have the table laid with scones and jam and all we needed to begin our holiday without rushing out to the shops for basic provisions. Every single part of this cottage is beautiful...it was a joy discovering each room with all the character and querks... yet still very practical and well equipped. I particularly enjoyed my long soak in the roll top bath, which made for a luxurious and relaxing evening after our journey over. It had everything we needed for a wonderful weekend away. I would highly recommend this Cottage, and we will definitely be going back!

The hosts are very welcoming on arrival and so are the little touches that they provide, especially the cream tea. The cottage is beautifully restored and very comfortable. Home from home. The cottage has ecellent facilities with all the equipment you would find in your home. The gardens are delightful. The cottage is situated for days out and about not far from a variety of attractions. All in all a fabulous place to have a realaxing stay.

September 2012
The cottage was so attractive - we looked forward to returning to it each day and seeing the primrose walls and thatch. Inside, the kitchen and bathroom were highlights, spotlessly clean and very well equipped with good quality utensils etc. We very much appreciated the care and attention that our host had given to the preparation of the cottage and the extras she had provided; wine, cream, tea, chocolates, fruit - never been spoilt so much in 30 years of holiday cottages. The garden was much bigger than we had expected and the setting was very peaceful. We absolutely loved the quiet country lanes for cycling and the golden fields and blue skies.

My husband, two friends and myself stayed here in May 2009 but have never forgotten our visit to Faith Cottage it was so wonderful. The cottage looked so pretty on Sykes' website and didn't disappoint in the slightest. The owners couldn't have done more to make you feel at home, there were too many little touches to mention which you don't often find in rented cottages. If we ever get down that way again we would love to make a return visit and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday in the area.

The location was great, off the beaten track but with walks from the doorstep. The owners were friendly and on hand if we needed anything. The welcome was great and we even had a cream tea waiting for us and a full basket of fresh fruit. Fresh flowers in all the rooms was a lovely welcome touch. We made use of the garden and indoor games and the television was hardly on. This cottage ticked all the boxes for location and facilities and we really did chill out. Will definitely be back. Great base to explore. This cottage is obviously well loved by its owners and for our first cottage holiday with Sykes it was a great experience!

May 2011
Carol and Colin are wonderful hosts and they've done a great job fulfilling their personal dream of repairing and fitting out Faith Cottage. It is beautifully appointed with quality furnishings, appliances and loving touches, It is comfortable, cozy and charming. Colin tells a great history of the place and his pride in his work is evident. The cottage is surrounded by very nice landscaping and farmer's fields. Like any centuries old house it has its quirks. If you're handicapped in any way, be careful. The bedrooms are up a steep staircase and the bath is downstairs. However, there is a convertible sofa on the ground floor that avoids the stair issue. We enjoyed our stay very much and would do it again in a minute.
Mrs Bennett

July 2010
Not only did this look like the best cottage we had ever stayed in it was. The little touches added by the owners as well as their friendliness and kindness made it so. The cottage itself deserved the five stars it has got from us. It was beautiful, lacked nothing you could want and indeed immediately felt like a home not a holiday let. The location was good with access to Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. The area was very quiet and peaceful and the gardens of the cottage were kept beautifully and we enjoyed watchng and feeding the birds and the squirrels. We missed the deer unfortunately who we understand visit too but we did have a visit from the local rabbit population. All in all this cottage is highly recommended, unless of course, you are looking for wild nights out but for a country location it is ideal.

This cottage was one of the best we have stayed in. The owners were not only welcoming they added touches which were so nice to greet us as we arrived there. The cottage was immaculate. The garden was superb and we spent many happy hours watching the birds, squirrels and rabbits. The visitor book reflected our thoughts in that there was not one single bad comment. Highly recommended.

Faith Cottage was absolutely gorgeous and made our New Year break fantastic. The couple that owned it were so friendly and helpful. It is by far the best cottage I have stayed in. The story of the childhood dream to own the cottage and reasoning behind the name 'Faith Cottage' made it all the more special.

Faith Cottage is a typically English thatched country cottage in a location ideal for exploring the Suffolk countryside and amenities and is convenient for visiting the university city of Cambridge. The welcome we received was more than we expected; we were made to feel more like friends than visitors. We intend to make a return visit.
Mr Wiseman

Absolutely tranquil privacy surrounded by wonderful countryside. Faith cottage is very pretty, very ancient and oozes history and atmosphere. The super kitchen is fully fitted out. Very friendly owners. The owners had tastefully decorated the whole cottage including a lovely Christmas tree.

Our second visit to Faith Cottage with its thatched roof, beautiful peaceful garden and modern kitchen and bathroom which are scrupiously clean. The owners go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful stay. You do have to take care going down the stairs as they are quite steep (a requirement of the building being listed). Pubs two miles away, supermarkets six miles, loads of farm shops in the area. Easy access to main roads for fast access to the Suffolk/Norfolk coast.

The cottage is beautiful, both with old beams and with a modern, large kitchen. It is a listed cottage, so the staircase to the first floor apparently could not be made less steep. Another handrail would have been nice, though, as I tripped down the stairs and twisted my ankle quite badly. However, we have recommended the cottage to some friends of ours

The cottage is absolutely beautiful, and the landlord a delight. We were very touched to be greeted by a lavish cream tea, bottle of wine, chocolates and extraordinarily generous fruit bowl on arrival. All sorts of guidebooks to the local area were left out for us so we were able to go on some cracking walks all around. I simply cannot recommend this cottage highly enough.
