We have rented Eribel cottage on a number of occasions and last year we felt that the cottage wasn't as clean as we had found previously.. This year, however, there was a definite improvement and we enjoyed our stay. We did look at booking again for next year but it seems as if the rental cost has increased significantly from last year?

It was a fantastic cottage, very comfortable with amazing views.. A very well equipped kitchen with everything you could need. Seeing the red squirrels every day was a bonus. The only downside was the heating which didn't seem to work properly, upstairs was fine but downstairs the underfloor heating didn't seem to work, but other than that it was a lovely cottage

Great cottage.. Very clean. Fantastic views, perfect position. In an ideal world there would be a fire and the TV would be lower on the wall, but pretty small things in the overall picture. We've just had our third holiday there and will be back next year.

Great location in a quiet, peaceful area.. Walks on your doorstep and fabulous views from the house. The property has been beautifully refurbished and modernised and is very well equipped, probably because the owners use it themselves, making it more of a home. Just a couple of criticisms. The duvet is only king size and doesn't fit the super king bed. It's also not thick enough for autumn/winter use. We had to pinch the duvet from another bedroom to keep warm. The underfloor heating in the lounge is inadequate and didn't really seem to warm up. There were a number of evenings when we were quite chilly. When we tried to turn the heating up it kept flicking back to a lower temperature. It was as if it was being controlled elsewhere! Also the entire heating went off at 9.30 in the morning. There were some strange anomalies with the heating which we never really understood, particularly upstairs which was off more than it was on and the heated towel rail in the bathroom only came on for a few hours in the evening!! Really don't like being cold when we're on holiday.

As you know, we had to get in touch with yourselves on arrival re the state of the cleanliness of the cottage.. Two ladies from the Keswick office came over straight away and saw for themselves a multitude of unclean areas including one of the beds. They immediately set to and changed bedding, cleaned floors and dusted. They quite agreed that the cottage should not have been left in that state - a stomach churning start to our holiday! I must say from the initial phone call with Gary to the girls coming round, I felt that your staff did all they could to put matters right including a refund of £100 at the end of the holiday. The disappointing start to the holiday at Eribel Cottage will not put us off booking the property again as it is so beautiful and so tastefully done. I think the owners would have been saddened to see that it had been so let down because of the lack of cleaning! Thank you to Karen and team for putting things right and I have to say we thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the week.

If your hesitating regarding this cottage, don't, just book it, you won't regret it. It's great to see an owner that understands the type people who rent this property are not the type to pinch dishwasher tablets, all is provided in this occomodation, the owner has thought of everything. Thank you for sharing your lovely cottage.

This cottage is the best we've stayed in,very clean inside with everything you need for your stay, the beds are very comfortable and two bathrooms is a plus, fantastic views from the living room and open the bi-folding doors and its like your outside, its in an excellent position for visiting the lakes only 4 miles to keswick, inthe village there are two pubs both serving excellent food, this holiday was over far to quick and we will definitely be going back, this cottage has been decorated to a very high spec and is a credit to the owners

Beautiful house, modern, spacious and well-equipped. It is positioned perfectly at the end of a short road with a stream (gill) running along the side and stunning views of Blencathra to the rear and side and Clough's Head across the valley. Walks can be straight from the door with access to the path by the stream either into the village or up Blencathra. The village is nice with 2 friendly pubs and a surprisingly good coffee shop. However, be aware that there is no shop in the village so come prepared or its down to Keswick for provisions. Obviously word is getting around about this property. When we booked at the end of last year availability was not a problem. However, we considered returning later this year and found it was booked solid until Oct! Not surprised really, we have stayed in several cottages in and around the Lakes and Northumbria and this is undoubtedly the best. Other than the lack of a local shop and, to some perhaps, the noisy rooks (I think) nesting in the trees alongside the house there are no downsides. We would certainly recommend it and expect to stay again in the future.

This is a great cottage, well thought out and very comfortable. The views are fantastic. It's easy to waste a morning just sitting in the living room with a cup of tea and looking out at Clough Head. Floors downstairs are generally wood or stone tile (limestone?), which makes them very dog and outdoor shoe friendly. There's underfloor heating which means everything dries really quickly. The kitchen is well equipped and there is even a decent dishwasher. Upstairs in the bedrooms the carpets are new and are probably expensive. You sink gently into them. The zip and link bed in the main bedroom seems enormous. The sheets and bed linen are good quality. Internet connection is a standard BT hub, I think, and works well. Bit difficult to think of any downsides. An en suite would have been nice but the layout doesn't really mean you can do this easily. The pros of everything else outweigh that one disadvantage. There are leather sofas in the living room which I am not keen on, but that is just a personal thing.

This is a dog friendly cottage that is of a very high standard. The views are outstanding and it is very private. It has been furnished to the highest standard. It is very well equipped and is lovely and warm. The owners have thought about comfort in all weathers supplying everything you need. We will be going back.
