Hunters Moon Annexe

Fulford itself is a great location for a base as we found everything we needed within a 5 or 10 mile radius - we found Stone to be very dog friendly and we dined there on several occasions (Fulford has a pub but it isn't dog friendly). The cottage? In a word, Brilliant! I received pre-arrival welcome messages during the few days before arrival which set things up nicely. When we got there everything was clearly cleaned and prepared for us - even a bottle of wine and some dog treats for our enjoyment. The were precious few problems to encounter - I think I'd have to class a broken spatula and a dripping tap as being major!!!! That really is how good the place was. Our hosts were brilliant (including resident BC Milly), and our own Border Collie was made very welcome and made full use of the beautiful garden. We found the lounge, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom all to be very high quality and this settled us in within minutes of arriving. All in all I'd highly recommend Hunter's Moon Annexe 110% - so much so that after all our 'cottage holiday stays' this is the first one that we will be be returning to for definite. Location - brilliant. My wife and myself spent 5 days in fulford, the accommodation was excellent, spacious and very clean. Hand gel and hand soap were provided and very welcome. Jane and Steve were very generous and nothing was too much. Overall an excellent stay. Joy and Stephan

Very comfortable place to stay and explore local area.. Met owners, from a distance, who were very friendly and accommodating. It felt very Covid secure!

We have just spent a week at Hunters Moon annexe which is very well equipped and very homely.. Steve and Jane are very good hosts and will help you if needed as we had a problem with the Wi-fi which Steve went out of his way to resolve. The property is within easy reach of many local attractions The annexe was very clean and modern with a patio area A local pub shoulder of mutton within walking distance good food and friendly too Will return

The accommodation is very well presented and had everything we needed. Every care was taken to keep us safe plenty of hand gel. Lovely garden and patio. Fulford is a very pretty village with plenty of local walks. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Fantastic property, really good size for 2 people.. The owners were really helpful, even putting a cafetière in the kitchen, when asked if there was one available. Lovely area, super walks and stunning countryside. Now looking at next year’s diary to fit in a return visit!

Hunters Moon Annexe has everything you need for a relaxing holiday, whether it be to stay in, put your feet up in the cozy lounge, watch tv or play scrabble (which is provided in the office cabinet) and enjoy a few bevvies (bottle of wine provided by the owners.. ..thank you, was lovely!) or go out and enjoy the many picturesque walks in and around Fulford (there is a handy book of local walks in the bureau that we found helpful, The Dog & Doublet pub walk was an easy one, with donkeys in the field right next to for the little ones to enjoy...or the not so little ones!) The owners Steve and Jane couldn't do enough...to you both, thank you for a lovely holiday, we'll definitely consider coming again, especially as we're promised a treasure trove on our return, as we left one of the cupboards with our snacks still in, still can't believe we did that Haha

The accommodation was stylish, clean, modern and well-equipped.. The shower was fantastic. Parking was easy as there was plenty of space. The owners were kind and friendly. What more can you ask for? We really enjoyed our stay.

Just returned from our second visit to this excellent well placed accommodation for two. We stayed 10 days and had a great holiday. The annexe has everything you need and more! We love the village of Fulford and the local pub does excellent food and beers. Jane and Steve are always around should you have any questions or problems. There is ample safe parking and a lovely garden to just sit and chill. We cannot wait to visit again as it is one of our favourite locations to stay whilst visiting old pals in the area. Thank you again Jane and Steve for making our stay so pleasant.

This is a very well fitted out holiday let.. As I was on a course I can't comment on the local amenities

The owners of this cottage are very friendly, welcoming and helpful.. They treated us as if we were friends and made the experience of staying there special.

Beautifully presented accommodation with everything you need for a stress free break.. Jane and Steve were very nice, Steve showed us around the annex when we arrived and Jane called the next day to ensure everything was okay. The accommodation is situated on the edge of the village, and is very peaceful, but is only a short drive from the main road, so accessing the surrounding towns is very easy by car. We did not visit the village pub, but can recommend The Black Lake Inn or The Windmill at Meir Heath for lovely food. We were visiting family and friends, and are certain we will book this annex next time we need to stay in the area.

The Annexe is a very comfortable, cosy place to stay with plenty of space and everything in the house that we could want.. Jane and Steve, the owners, are exceptional hosts and made us very welcome. A bottle of wine was awaiting us which was very welcome. The Annexe is in an deal location for exploring the area. We would recommend the Shoulder of Mutton pub just down the road to have a meal.

Extremely helpful and lovely friendly welcome.. provided us with new fans cos it was very hot. wine, and beer cos i dont drink wine.care and attention to our every need all week.will go there again and recommend it to friends.

The property is the annexe of a large house in a very nice Staffordshire village.. There is a very good pub within walking distance and does excellent food, but no village shop. Nearest town is Stone, just a ten minute drive away where you will find a very good supermarket and plenty of other stores and restaurants. Jane & Steve who own the house could not have been better hosts, they are normally about if required and are excellent, fun company for a chat! The annexe has plenty of storage and the bed is very comfortable. The kitchen has all that is required and well set out. The bathroom has over the bath shower and always plenty of hot water available. There are many walks around the area and the garden is very pleasant to just sit and chill with a beer or two. We did not visit any of the many attractions around the area as our visit was mainly to see relatives and friends due to now living in Scotland. We are also Holiday Home Hosts and I just hope our guests have as good a time as we had at Jane and Steve's beautiful home! (Cannot wait to book the next visit).

Needed to find accommodation that would take two collie dogs due to taking part in the 70.. 3 Stafford Half Ironman in June 2019. Hunters Moon wasn't close to the start in Chasewater but it allowed more than one dog. Prior to arrival I'd asked whether we could get in early due to travelling up from Cornwall overnight and for the owners to text me if this was possible on the day. They duly text when the accommodation was ready and I text back to say that we were very wet due to the current weather conditions (pouring down with rain!). On arrival the heating had been turned on so that we could dry out and also there was a bottle of wine for us and a number of doggy treats for the collies. Steve, the owner, showed us where everything was but said to text him if we needed anything further. (We only needed to do this once when a bulb blew and tripped the fuse switch and he came round immediately to fix it.) They also supplied an information folder with everything in it which you need - wifi code, vets, doctors, shops, pubs, etc. There's also an interesting folder in the office with the history of Fulford in it (Hunters Moon used to be the post office at one time - hence the postbox in their wall). There is loads of storage space here as well as living space. We didn't even use the lounge or office as we spent most of our time around the kitchen table as there was plenty of room here. The location is ideal for getting around Staffordshire. Morrisons is in Stone, about five miles away, for food and fuel. Good road links to Stafford, Lichfield, Cannock Chase, Shugborough (NT). We have an older collie dog (14) so we brought out own rubber-backed mats as he has problems on wooden floors which they had here (legs go in all directions except the way he wants them to go). Overall we had a lovely week except it rained most days but that didn't stop us going out and seeing as much of Staffordshire as we could. Would definitely come back here next year.

After complaining about the original cottage we booked and arrived at, you found this gorgeous place for us as an alternative within a couple of hours.. It saved our holiday. The original place, Warmbrook Cottage should be removed from your web site

The owners are a charming couple who are extremely friendly.. We had a particularly relaxing week. The only slight drawback to the property is, it is a little out of the way, other than that is great. Slightly noisy when owners are using rooms above the annex. If we were to return to this area we would certainly use the annex again.

This property met our requirements in every detail.. It was a pleasure to stay here. In addition the owners, Mr and Mrs Walters made us most welcome.

Hunters Moon is a comfortable, cosy place to stay and makes a great place to relax after exploring the area.. The location is peaceful and Steve and Jane are friendly, welcoming and helpful but not at all intrusive. We were very impressed with the way in which they dealt with the electrical issue on our first night. Responding immediately Steve worked out where the problem lay and having ensured we a safe and could cope overnight arranged for an electrician to come next morning to fix it. By 10.30 a.a. everything was sorted. The accommodation is well equipped and provides all you need for a great holiday. Jane suggested somewhere she thought we my like to visit and we enjoyed it so much we went a second time. We enjoyed our stay so much that before we left we booked a return to Hunters Moon in the summer.

This is a very comfortable cottage with warm and welcoming owners. Steve and Jane were there when needed but we're not at all intrusive. There was an issue with the main light in the bedroom on our first night and Steve, having ensured we were safe and could cope, arranged for the electrician to call first thing next morning to sort it so by 10.30 a.m. everything was working. The property is warm, comfortable and well equipped. The location is peaceful and it proved the perfect place to relax after exploring the area. Jane suggested somewhere we might like to visit which proved so good we went a second time. We enjoyed our stay so much that before we left we deserved had already booked to return in the summer. Definitely a great experience and so reasonably priced.

The accommodation is excellent and very dog friendly.. The large garden is ideal for a dog and the road next to the property is very quiet with a small recreation field at the top so great for a short dog walk. Fulford is a lovely village with a good pub. The information available in the annexe is most useful and there are several walking guides. There is a dishwasher, washer - dryer and two tvs. The owners live in the adjoining house and were very welcoming and were readily available should you have any questions. The accommodation is of a very high standard, was lovely and warm and has all the equipment that you need. The are some lovely walks in the Stone area. I was so impressed with this accommodation I have booked another holiday there in September

The accomodation was very good and clean the owners steve and jane were very pleasant and helpful and the location was what we wanted close to stoke on trent.. The only down side was the flat above needed the floor sound proofed as there was a lot of bumps in the evening and first thing in the morning

This annexe is more than adequate for a short or longer stay.. Every effort has been made to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Will be recommending this place to friends and family.

We stayed in this lovely Holiday Cottage for 2 weeks in September.. Our hosts Jane and Steven Walters were such a lovely welcoming couple.. even including a bottle of wine on our arrival.. thank you ! They were also very considerate about us inviting our family over for an Afternoon Tea which was really nice of them. The accommodation itself was above the standard to which we'd been expecting.. it was spotlessly clean and very well appointed for all our needs over such a long period. There was also ample parking for both ourselves and visitors. It is located in a lovely little village and in a very quiet location. At the local pub 'The Shoulder of Mutton' (walking distance) the staff were also very friendly and the food was exceptional. We would not hesitate to recommend Hunter's Moon to anyone as being 'small but perfectly formed' and would certainly consider staying there again if we return to the UK. Thank you very much Jane and Steven for such an enjoyable happy holiday !!

The pub the shoulder of mutton is excellent good prices and good food also the black lake is a good pub to. We would highly recommend Hunters Moon annex for a relaxing break.

Lovely, warm and comfy holiday cottage in a quiet village with a welcoming, helpful and friendly (but not intrusive) owner living next door. Cannot fault the cottage and it was very good value for money. We made use of the Wi-Fi facility and - despite this being the first time we'd made use of such a facility - we had no problems and the reception was excellent from within the cottage. Fulford itself does not have many amenities although there is the very occasional public event at the just-across-the-road village hall. Also, the village pub ("The Shoulder of Mutton" - five minute walk from cottage) has a Wednesday night pub quiz and has a good range of beers and - based on the one night we had a meal there - offers excellent, large, and reasonably-priced meals. Fulford is within easy reach (albeit initially on fairly minor roads) of larger places such as Stone (@5 miles away, with Morrison's and Aldi supermarkets), Stafford, Stoke on Trent, Lichfield, etc. We enjoyed nice days out at Eccleshall and Stone (good places to mooch around for an hour or two); Lichfield (Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum, Erasmus Darwin House, Cathedral); Stafford (shopping, St. Mary's Church, cinema, theatre and live blues/ rock music at "The Grapes"); National Memorial Arboretum, Cannock Chase and site of Castle Hill Iron Age hilltop fort; Stoke on Trent; etc.

Fully kitted out to a very high specification throughout. This place is charming and the owners could not be more helpful. There if you need them but otherwise you are left in peace. Stayed there while on business in Stafford as a pleasant change from a hotel and immediately booked it again a few weeks later. Perfect holiday location to explore the beautiful countryside of Staffordshire. Couldn't recommend enough.

Now that Hunters Moon Annexe has been extensively renovated, it is even more enjoyable and comfortable.. Cannot recommend this property enough - it is of a very high standard and I have stayed in many self-catering properties throughout the UK. We were in Staffordshire for a wedding.. Hunters Moon was only a few minutes away. It was everything we hoped for, clean and comfortable. Our dog was with us and to have use of a large garden was great. The owners were friendly and made sure we were happy with everything. One slight down side was no freezer or ice box in the fridge. All in all a great place to stay and would recommend . Full marks 10/10

We had been left milk and wine and even dog treats for Harvey which were most gratefully received! Everything we needed including the sun for a good Easter break away. The local was worth a walk to but check their opening times not to be disappointed. The food we had there was excellent.

We had a wonderful vacation in Fulford. The house is for couples who want to have time for each other perfectly. In the surrounding area you will find a wonderful landscape (the Peak District is not far away). The cities of Liverpool and Manchester are both about an hour away. The hosts are very warm people and help with any questions. We recommend Hunter's Moon without hesitation.

We arrived on 18th April for 7 nights, welcomed by Jane who showed us round the annexe. A nice touch was the provision of a bottle of wine. We had forgotten a few items but we arranged for them to be sent to the main cottage and these were given to us later on in the week on there arrival. The cottage is located in the very pretty village of Fulford, which is conveniently located for the Peak District, and we spent the majority of the days in that area. The annexe is well equipped with all relevant appliances, and comes with a large garden which is perfect if you have a dog, like we do.
