Beyond this home’s landscaped garden, it’s nothing but fields as far as the eye can see. You’re in a tiny West Yorkshire village, just a short hop in the car from the natural wonders of the Peak District. The exterior is honey-stone perfection with a plant-filled garden providing an al fresco spot for drinks and lounging in the sunshine. Glass doors fold back from the dining room for meals that feel as though they’re outside. A modern interior – black walls and leather sofas – is a far cry from the cottage exterior, but doesn’t take away from the comfort of this country bolthole.

Home truths:
*Both of the bedrooms are upstairs, so this place may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
*This is a terraced house so you'll have neighbours directly either side of you.
*There's not a lot of storage in the bedrooms if you're planning a long stay.
*If you're travelling for work, there's a dedicated work desk on the landing, rather than in a separate office space.
*In a small village without a shop, having a car is recommended and there is private parking.
