Located in the heart of the border countryside where England and Wales nudge each other along Offa's Dyke, the area is a haven for walking and cycling, and for discovering olde worlde country pubs in the unspoilt villages close by. The picturesque village of Weobley, just a short drive away, is a hidden gem and is quite simply the jewel in the crown of Herefordshire’s famous Black and White Village Trail. Leominster, possesses some fine examples of architecture such as the Priory Church, along with a wide variety of shops, cafes and pubs, and is the ideal place in which to spend a lazy afternoon strolling around in pleasant surroundings. Within easy reach are Hay-on-Wye, the 'town of books' and the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains. The popular medieval town of Ludlow, situated above the River Teme, is also well worth a visit, with stunning surroundings of unspoilt countryside of south Shropshire and the Welsh borders. The cathedral city of Hereford dates back to Saxon times and boasts an eclectic mix of architecture, with a medieval bridge spanning the winding River Wye. Here you can discover the fascinating Mappa Mundi world map and the captivating chained library, home to a collection of rare and ancient books. There is also a cheese factory, vineyard and many cider farms in the surrounding areas for guests to tour and sample the delights of the wonderful local produce. This really is a wonderful destination in a beautiful region of Britain.
