A perfect place for a relaxing break. We stayed for a week and found it very peaceful. Garden House is a well furnished clean property with lovely decoration throughout and a very romantic feel. 10 out of 10. We will certainly be back.

A lovely cottage in wonderful surroundings. The cottage has some lovely touches and felt very homely. It was a very private cottage even though it was in the grounds of the owners home. It was comfortable and cosy with everything we needed. Would recommend to any couple who like to get away from city life.

A great location with wonderful views and an excellent base for sightseeing with many attractions within easy reach. The Garden House was beautifully decorated and furnished, spotlessly clean, warm and very comfortable. It would be great to return in the summer months as the garden area looks lovely and ideal for drinks/meals outside.

A peaceful and romantic location, close to walks at Carsington water. A lovely cosy little cottage, was great to have a wood burner for cosy nights in. It was the perfect place for our 1st wedding anniversary.

The place was beautiful and remote perfect for a quiet Christmas, cosy living room with wood burning stove, kitchen with everything the photos do not show how welcoming it is. The area is stunning with many places to visit and wander around, including towns and villages not to mention the countryside.

We loved the cottage and the garden. The cottage was in an ideal setting in the tranquillity of the countryside. It felt as though we were in the middle of nowhere, but the village of Kirk Ireton was only a mile and a half away. We will definitely book again, and would recommend the cottage to friends and family.

We stayed at Garden house at the end of May and thoroughly enjoyed it! The cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable holiday (even down to an egg slicer!) The views are amazing and you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, but actually within a few minutes in the car you can visit some wonderful places such as Carsington Water, Heights of Abraham (caves and cable cars) Bakewell (beautiful place where you can post a REAL bakewell pudding) and Alton Towers is about half an hour away. Upon arrival the table was laid out for dinner which we thought was a lovely personal touch. The cleanliness throughout was fantastic. The only downside was the shower, as it is a handheld one, so would be great if there was a hook and a shower curtain for ease of use! We also found that phone signal's varied here. I have Vodafone and managed to pick up a signal but my boyfriend is on Orange and didn't pick up a signal at all. Also our 3G didn't work. This is by no means a criticism, as we thought being in a rural spot this may happen, we just thought it was a good point to inform others. We were also met a few times by the owners dog who was very friendly :) We would definitely recommend this cottage to others and would love to go back again.

The cottage is situated in a beautiful location very near to lovely walks. We had a small child and the cottage suited our needs perfectly. We would recommend to couple or very small family to stay at this cottage.

February 2013
I loved the peaceful atmosphere of Garden House. The views across the fields were great. I visited in February, so needed the heating on all the time, but the heating kept the cottage very cosy, and using the log burner was a bonus. It is really easy to reach interesting places to walk, straight from the door of the cottage.

The cottage was an actual cottage. It was also quiet and the surroundings were beautiful. All in all the holiday was great and the cottage is highly recommended.
