We were doing a ‘memory lane’ trip, having lived in the area 50 years ago, when Croabh Haven did not exist. We booked Elder Cottage online as it seemed to be what we wanted, more of less where we wanted, at a reasonable price; and it was a real delight. Beautifully clean, thoughtfully equipped with quality equipment, and with a nice welcome pack. Everything that we wanted and more, comfortable with a welcoming ambience. ‘More than satisfied’ sums it up.

We stayed 5 nights at Elder Cottage & loved it. Directions & self-check in was easy. Very clean accommodation, comfortable beds, great shower with fluffy towels & a well-equipped kitchen. The information book the host has made about the house & local area is one of the best we’ve ever seen. Less than 2 minutes walk to the local pub situated in a beautiful marina. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking to stay in this area

Slight untidiness of rear garden of adjacent cottage could put visitors off eating outside.. Why do so few Scottish Cottages have bread bins? Elder Cottage is one of a good number of cottages I have stayed in that do not possess such a basic facility. There is no public access to the marina and the boats berthed there tho it is easy to view the marina as a whole from the adjacent parking area. Regular boat tripsaround the nearby Islands operate from the marine a a day are well worth going on.

The cottage was far more spacious than we expected and there were little touches that we truly did not expect.. Phone charger for example, we just never thought this would be in the cottage for use.Everything was on hand and this was a lovely quiet space but felt like home from home.
