Cottage was lovely. Had everything you would need, for a nice stay. Owners close by, so any questions could be answered quickly. Will save time, if you read the information pack supplied on the table, regarding fire / heating etc. Really enjoyed the break. You would need a torch, if you planned to leave on foot after dark, even if it were only to the nearby pub.

This was a wonderful property and we have already told family and friends what a lovely time we had there.. The Christmas Decorations were greatly appreciated with a bottle of red wine ( our favourite tipple ) and choc’s! The wood burner was nicely ticking over with a full basket of logs along side making everything welcoming and cozy. Mark tapped on the door to check all was ok and to knock next door if any problems. Everything was perfect and thanks to you all. Wishing you all a Happy New Year, Linda Sketchley

This was a birthday surprise for my wife, and a lovely one at that ! The cottage was very clean and comfortable, the wood burner is great for those cold nights with a amp full supply of wood. Great location for exploring the area.Chase distillery with its vodka & gins tours was enjoyable. A big thank you to Mr.& Mrs. Williams for making our stay so good, and memorable. I would highly recommend.

Had a great time at the cottage.. Everything was as described. It’s such a beautiful place and the owner ( only met Fiona) thought of very little detail. They even left us fresh milk in the fridge, there was plenty of wood and we enjoyed the fire. The pub is very close and there is a path by the river that you can take. They have great food and a very relaxed atmosphere. I would recommend visiting the Monkland cheese makers and shop ( a 30 minutes country side drive) they have great cheese and you can take a tour and learn how the cheese is made.

Excellent well maintained cottage with all facilities situated in a quiet rural area but with easy access to larger towns and attractions..

Access to the shower room and lavatory is restricted by two low doors.. The spiral staircase to the bed platform is rather narrow. Someone with limited mobility may find access difficult.

We had a lovely time in this beautiful cottage.. The wood burning fire made the place cosy in a week where autumn really took a temperature dive! The proximity to walking tracks including the Wye Valley Path along the riverside was a big plus for us, as was the nearby pub! Walking back home under a blanket of stars along the river was magical. Did bang our heads a bit on the low door to and from the bathroom but oh well...there was a sign warning us after all. The addition of games and books along with firewood was a lovely touch.

We had a brilliant stay at Eightlands from start to finish.. We met Fiona as we arrived who was so lovely and friendly, the cottage was as described and so cosy and quaint in person. Tea, coffee and milk were provided which was a nice touch and Fiona even dropped round some extra wood for the fire on our second night. There is a walking trail just opposite the cottage entrance which goes along the Wye which was just beautiful, and we also sampled some food and local ales in the Bunch of Carrots which is wonderfully old and characterful. Would really recommend the cottage and the surrounding area (but watch out for the low ceiling in the bathroom - fine for us as we aren’t the tallest!). We are already planning our next trip!

Situated just 2 miles from the centre of Hereford and yet in a very rural setting. If you're coming from Hereford, it's about 200 metres after the village road sign, on the left, or from Ross-on-Wye, 250 metres beyond the Bunch of Carrots pub, but on the right. Not easy to spot if you don't know where to look. At times this is a vey busy road, so take care. The cottage is well kitted out with all the kitchen essentials. Comfy sofa situated in front of the wonderful log burner. Spiral staircase to the cosy bedroom. Parking space right next to the cottage. There's a lovely walk directly opposite along the River Wye. Hereford and Ross-on-Wye are both vibrant towns worth visiting. Slightly further afield is Monklands Dairy. Go on a Monday or Wednesday to see the cheese being made.

Eightlands is a quaint 17thC cottage which has been refurbished very imaginatively and sympathetically.. Although only for 2, it was spacious and suited our needs perfectly, being close to the city of Hereford but also easy to access the lovely Herefordshire countryside. Owners are a very friendly family and made us feel very welcome. A holiday to remember.

We were very lucky to start with, with wall to wall sunshine.. The cottage is so nice and quirky with every thing you need, also the location is idea just across the road to the river with some nice walks, but only a couple of hundred meters from a great pub which has a great range of good food also a carvery every night, at reasonable prices. With a car you are well situated to visit lots of areas of interest. Hereford is a beautiful county being just on the boarder of Wales.

Could not find fault with the cottage, location, or hosts who were extremely helpful.. I have already been recommending the cottage to family and friends. However, the listing on Sykes website states that The Moody Cow pub is situated in the village, but (although very nice) it is actually a 15 minute drive away. The village local is called The Bunch of Carrots which is a lovely, welcoming pub. This needs to be changed as a matter of urgency.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely cottage, which was very welcoming, clean and comfortable.. Despite the cold weather, the cottage remained warm and cosy. We felt very much at home. Fiona and Mark, the owners, went above and beyond to help us out when the heavy snow began - thank you so much to them for their kindness and flexibility. We hope to return again soon.

Eightlands has been beautifully and tastefully refurbished last year to be a most comfortable place for a winter 'retreat'.. The mezzanine bedroom is particularly good. A lot of stooping to get into the bathroom (very low door heights) however, might not be for everyone. Excellent pub just up the road serves very good meals. Owners are very friendly and helpful.
