I visited here last November so this was our second visit. It’s s great area with lots to do. The cottage is cosy and I would have rated it v good but for a few points. There isn’t a washing machine, not handy at all. I’d have a washing machine over a dishwasher any day. There weren’t many towels either, just as well we always bring some. The living room carpet and rug need a clean and the hoover was useless even after I cleaned out the filters. I might have dogs but I don’t want dog hair everywhere. There were a lot of cobwebs too this time. The bedroom gets a lot of condensation and also gets stuffy so I had need to keep the window open at night. The window frame is needing a good clean too. But for the money it’s a good rental, the kitchens got everything you could want ( apart from the washing machine) and the folk in Dalry are soooo friendly.

The cottage was as expected with a dog friendly enclosed garden.. Washing machine would have been more use than having a dishwasher. Bed and sofas were a bit soft as I have a sore back. Cottage was ideally situated for touring around the area.

Lovely cosy little cottage in a excellent location for walking.. Cottage was well equipped having everything you need to make a home cooked dinner, the walking guides and OS maps were great, a thoughtful touch! Very dog friendly, our dog really enjoyed his stay too. You could tell a lot of thought went into the making of this holiday cottage. The only minor for us was the bed was firmer than we would habe liked, but this is down to personal taste.

The cottage is well-equipped and very comfortable for two people. Being a single-storey building with a gravelled, fenced garden, it is ideal for a dog. The central location of the cottage makes it convenient for visiting most locations in SW Scotland by car, and even Glasgow is only 1.5 hours away. There are shops and supermarkets within 30 mins drive (Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbright or Newton Stewart) and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed for home cooking (including a dishwasher).

Excellent well equipped cottage in a good location.. It felt very safe and the people were very friendly. The property contained lots of tourist information regarding sightseeing in the surrounding area which was very helpful. There was a pub with a restaurant serving superb, reasonably-priced food within easy walking distance - The Clachan Arms. Our only negative comment was that we found the bed too firm for our liking but this did not detract from a most enjoyable stay.
