Really can’t fault the house or location on any level, it was simply superb.. We had two cocker spaniels with us who could play happily running round the outside if the house in constant loops!
The house and facilities were superb, everything we needed was there, right down to fresh fruit hanging in the trees in the garden. This house is a real treasure!
The location was remote and exactly what we were looking for. Already looking at dates to book it again. The day we left l stopped in Muir of Ord at the florist’s and bought up half the shop window which wasn’t actually for sale but they very graciously sold me anyway
It was a amazing cottage with all the facilities provided to give us a relaxing, peaceful holiday.. Definitely recommend family and friends who are fascinated to have a beautiful country side holiday. This cottage is the one to look for

A very good cottage to spend time with our family.. There was plenty of space and it was in a good quiet location.
My family and I booked this property to celebrate a 30th birthday of a family friend, we live only 20 minutes away and needed to be nearby as we all have animals that need daily attention, so we had a stacation.. Easter Urray was everything we had hoped for and more, as a very keen cook the kitchen and the larder were very well equipped and once I got the hang of the gas hob we got on fine, the enormous utility room was great for the dog and all our outdoor things. The kitchen was ideal for cosy family suppers and for our more formal dinners the dining room was perfect. One of our guests summed it up perfectly “grand but cosy”.
The house was so warm on arrival that we had to turn the underfloor heating down as the weather was mild, loved the wood burning stoves, we all live in the country but found it very peaceful and great for all ages.
I loved it so much, that I really did not want to leave, I have hired many properties over the years and have to say that this was most definitely my favourite and we will be back, the owner was helpful and met us on arrival, we knew if we needed anything he was there but he respected our privacy which was appreciated. A ***** property.
Recently returned from spending a fantastic Christmas at this property.. The house is amazing, the pictures really don't do it justice. The property exceeded our expectations, 10 of us stayed and there was still plenty of room. Its setting is amazing, located near plenty of beautiful walks, and the town is only 2 minutes away in car if you really need it. Tom the owner was really helpful, on hand if you needed anything at all, but left you be if you didn't. If we had one gripe it would be that one of the sofa's in the lounge has had its day, but that is literally the only issue we had, and believe me it's a tiny issue. Will definitely be returning!
Once of the single track road the house is approached via a lane, which has a problem with pot holes! These will test your suspension and you won't be able to avoid them all!
The accommodation itself is very good with three good sized double bedrooms with each having good on suites. There are a further two twin rooms (one of which is only really suitable for very small people). Some of the mattress were a little uncomfortable and probably past the date at which they should have been changed.
There are two good sized lounges one of which has a large dining area (table can seat 10). The settees in both lounges are probably two years past the date when they should have been replaced.
The kitchen is large and has a table capable of taking ten people. There is also a utility room with washing machine and tumble drier.
Unusually for self catering accommodation there are no instructions for any of the equipment in the house.
The house was not dirty, but not cleaned to a very high standard. We stayed for two weeks and had thought that at the end of the first week we would have been offered replacement towels and bed linen, but this did not happen.
Such a lovely property, spacious, well furnished and equipped with everything you might need.. The property sits in its own large garden and is surrounded by fields on three sides. Cows, sheep, a Bull and occasional visits from Pheasants. It sits next to a workign farm (cattle/timber) but you would hardly know its there. Its peacful with lovely walks in mature woodland just a few minutes drive away. Beaches and small villages within easy driving distance (strongly recommend Portmahaven, Rosemarkie and Cromarty) and Beauley which has some nice local shops. Tom the owner is really welcoming. Will definately return.
The house is accessed via a long track, which is potholed.. The accommodation is very well set out and having three double bedrooms with good on suite bathrooms is excellent, but in my opinion two of the mattresses are in need of replacement. The sitting rooms are an ideal size, but furniture is uncomfortable and probably two years past the date when it should have been replaced.
The house was not dirty, but not cleaned to a very high standard. There was a slice of toast under one of the settees and a dogs ball under one of the beds. We realised that dogs were allowed in the house, but disappointed with the number of dogs hairs on the settees.
The kitchen is a great size and is well equipped, but the cooker could do with a deep clean.
We could not find any instructions for any of the equipment.
We had hoped that during our two week stay that there might have been an offer of clean towels and bedding at the end of the first week, but this did not happen.
Great property, in a good location, lots of woodland walks for the dogs to enjoy.. Garden very dog friendly. Owner on hand if you need anything, wine, cheese and crackers were a lovely thought
Sykes Cottages service was friendly, easy to use, accessible and professional.. Thank you
The house at Easter Urray was fabulous with the owners not far away and happy to help with the smallest query. Wonderful weekend
We had a lovely family vacation in a comfortable and cozy home.. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and also helpful and attentive whenever we needed anything.
The cottage was beautiful and really well stocked -the kitchen had all the amenities any party of up to 10 people would need.. The cottage was in a fantastic location for exploring the highlands and we did some breathtaking walks along the cost. Tom the host was really helpful, but we were also left to our own devices for the weekend. Thank you for such a lovely stay - we would definitely come again.
Sometimes with words less is more and all I can say is the cottage is beautiful and made our wedding perfect.. The owner was close and was such a host making sure we were all well. Extremely friendly and helpful with some special welcoming extras. Couldn't recommend more highly.
Easter Urray is an absolutely wonderful home, perfectly configured for our family gathering in Scotland on the occasion of our daughter's wedding. The two sitting rooms were a real bonus, and the large dining room table accommodated us all. We loved having private bathrooms and cooking in the spacious and well appointed kitchen. Easter Urray gave us memories of a lifetime!
Wonderful cottage, lovely location, near beautiful village of Neault and great central location in the Highlands near Inverness.. Hosts were warm, friendly and just wonderful ! Lovely cottage with everything you need, would book again in a heartbeat !!
The cottage was warm and welcoming when we arrived. There is a great space outside with plenty of grass for the kids to run about on. Found it an ideal spot for exploring the area. Hopefully will be able to make this an annual event. Definitely would recommend.
The cottage was tremendous! Cleanliness standards were very high. We hope to return very soon.
Fantastic, relaxed cottage - really welcoming and spacious. Superbly modernised traditional farmhouse, which keeps some great features (log-burning stoves) whilst adding some great modern ones (underfloor heating). It was clean and bright throughout and very well maintained - the owner was very welcoming and helpful for the duration of our stay.

Would definitely recommend to friends and will probably book again.
What a lovely warm welcome from the owner, it just made our holiday. It was a home from home.
My daughter booked this very beautiful house for a large family week-end party. It exceeded all expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend this really lovely house. It is ideal for a large party with really spacious living accommodation and very large farmhouse kitchen. There is a huge laundry, utility room which was great for tucking away prams, packs, wellies, outdoor clothing, sledge........the list is endless. The house itself is beautifully furnished and extremely warm and comfortable. The entire ground floor has underfloor heating. The wifi worked well, despite the rural location. The house sits on a farm so expect to be aware of the cattle, this added to the experience for us, our little grandson loved watching the farmer on his tractor and visited the cows in the barn.
I cannot believe anyone would be disappointed renting this house, was excellent value for money.
This was our second visit to Easter Urray and we were not disappointed. The owners really take care to make the house as comfortable as possible and we hope to be going back for many years.
Every aspect of the cottage was well above standard! We loved the location as it was away from any major town or traffic.
Right from the start we were made welcome and felt at ease which is just want you want from a property. We have been to other countries and had villas and not felt comfortable at all. The cottage is very welcoming and well equipped and the views from most windows are great. The owner was helpful when asked questions about restaurants and fresh produce in the area. We had a very relaxed holiday there, and I personally could of stayed longer. We visited most places and this was our second year in Scotland and our opinion is it is just stunning.
This is a house of exceptional quality. We enjoyed the space and the lovely furnishings. The location was also very good.
When we booked our holiday we were looking for a quiet escape from our hectic day to day lives and it didn't disappoint.
The cottage was beautiful and decorated throughout to an exceptional standard, whilst maintaining a comfortable and homely atmosphere. We arrived to lit fires, some tasty local treats and a warm welcome from our host.
We will definitely be returning soon.
We booked our break at Easter Urray cottage, based on the photographs and reviews that we saw on Trip Advisor. I am delighted to say that the photos don't do the house justice, and that the reviews were spot on.
We visited as a party of six, three generations of the one family. We had plenty of space, and the ground floor accommodation was perfect for my elderly parents, (my father has difficulty walking).
From the large kitchen to the spacious bedrooms, the furnishings have been chosen with care and add to the enjoyment of being in such a beautiful house. Three of the bed rooms have en suite shower rooms and the main bathroom is sumptuous. Added to this, the house is very quietly situated at the end of a long drive.
It seems to me that Tom and Susan take pride in providing accommodation that meets the highest standards, and go to great lengths to make sure that their guests have a wonderful holiday. The welcome pack provided is just one example of this, quality wine, cheeses, biscuits etc, etc. They go above and beyond what anyone could expect.
Thanks again, we are already planning a return visit.
The house was gorgeous and well worth its 5 star rating, whilst retaining a warm, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. One of the most relaxing holidays we have ever enjoyed.
We booked Easter Urray as a base for our annual fishing trip to the Beauly. The house is beautifully furnished with lovely bedrooms, 3 of which are ensuite. The family bathroom is beautiful with a lovely large bath. The kitchen is extremely well stocked and feels much more than a rental property kitchen as the owners have used Denby and Emma Bridgewater crockery. There is a really useful pantry and a huge utility room. It benefits from two lounges (one with a large dining table) and a good outdoor bbq. I wouldn't hesitate to rebook this property.
Ideal house for a large family gathering.
We booked this property as it was close to family and able to accommodate our friends who we wished to invite to my wife's birthday celebrations.
This house can sleep ten people, albeit two have to be quite small to cope with the low ceilings in the attic room. (our grand daughter wanted to have a sleep-over in this room!)
The house is beautifully presented and the bedrooms are all quite luxurious (three of them en-suite). The large bathroom upstairs for the use of the folk who did not have en-suites is very well appointed and those using it enjoyed the large bath!)
The kitchen was fantastic and we have never experienced such a well stocked kitchen for cooking utensils and crockery.
The heating system throughout is quite sophisticated and the availability of wood burning stoves in the lounge, dining room and the kitchen were an added bonus. There was a plentiful supply of wood and kindling for the fires and they were easy to set and to keep going.
A nice and very welcome touch was a tray of snacks, coffee and tea awaiting our arrival.
We will certainly return.
Anyone who does not know the area will be pleasantly surprised by the abundance of things to do and visit within a short drive from the house.
Went to Easter Urray on 1st Feb for a 3 night stay with 8 friends, first impressions count and we were not disappointed we had to call the owner when we were in Inverness so that he could greet us. On arrival there was no one there but we opened the door and the first thing you noticed was the heat all 3 wood burning stoves had been lit and the under floor heating was also on, in the kitchen a tray had been set with fresh coffee and oatcakes with pate, cheese and milk in the fridge a lovely touch. I think the house has only been renovated in the past 12-18 months and they have not scrimped on it, it is very tastefully done and the cottage is fully equipped any thing we needed was there and the owner came down later to check that we were happy with everything added bonus we had Red Kites flying above the cottage. Well worth the money. 1 observation a sign at the church would be helpful as our Sat Nav wanted us to go past the road end.
