This is a lovely cottage in a good location.. Contact with the key holder was very helpful & friendly. Explained everything. It was perfectly clean & well equipped. Rooms comfortable & heating easy to adjust & control. Local pub good to walk to but plenty of other restaurants in town as well. Quite close to road & no real garden although the best is made of the outdoor space.Lots to do in the area so it doesn’t matter. Would happily return

Just spent a lovely week here with my family for the New Year.. The house is spacious and very comfortable. We arrived to find some lovely welcome gifts left by the owner including some treats for our dog. The owner had thought of everything to make our stay a comfy one. We ate at the Duke of Wellington on a couple of occasions, which was reasonably priced. But found many more lovely restaurants down the hill. Taxi fares are only £3 for anyone not wanting to walk. We also attempted the escape rooms which was lots of fun and only a 10 minute walk away. If your a fan of real ales? Than I would highly recommend Stanley’s ale house, again within walking distance. The neighbours around us were very friendly too. We will definately be returning.

The cottage was fabulous.. We were a group of 6 adults, 1 child, a toddler and a dog and the cottage had everything we needed. The living space was very comfortable and the bedrooms were roomy and beautifully presented. The cottage is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location is great, local pub 2 mins walk away was welcoming with good pub grub, there is a steep hill down to the town, but that is to be expected in the area. We visited out of season so a lot of the local attractions were closed (we knew this before we arrived so wasn’t a hinderance to the holiday) despite this we had some fabulous walks in the area and a little further afield and a lovely steam train ride, cavern visit and Christmas at Chatsworth. We cannot recommend the accommodation and area any more highly and we would definitely visit again. Very friendly and informative hosts before our stay and the lovely welcome pack was a great surprise.

Fantastic property, great little town and soooooo clean.. Comfort was ever so slightly lower as the heating was so high and it took us a little while to figure out how to turn it down (we should have just called the owners as they were really friendly and helpful but we just got on with it). We had a fantastic time

Excellent property.. The owner was very helpful and there was good communication prior to stay. The house was ideal for us and the little touches the owner left were a really nice surprise. The house had everything that you would need. Nicely decorated and nice comfy beds. The games helped keep the little ones entertained especially good as the weather was a little wet. The house is located well and a short £3 taxi ride to restaurants and pubs area. We visited 2 local restaurants during our stay which were both excellent service too. Overall a great experience and i would definitely recommend this property.

Lovely holiday with the family.. House had everything that we needed. Brilliant pub 200yds away. Good pub menu cheap and cheerful. Lots of walks around the area and a taxi ride up the hill is a must at only £3 a taxi. Taxi rank just behind market in Matlock

A fantastic location from which to explore The Peaks.. The house was excellent, plenty of space for a large family plus a couple of guests. All the facilities you would want, very clean and well maintained. We would certainly recommend the accommodation and being in Matlock, which is a lovely town, great park, good shops and places to eat and get coffee. The proximity to Matlock Bath meant we could easily get to the Heights of Abraham and other sights plus traveling further afield including Crich, Chatsworth, Carsington Water and we even did a day at Alton Towers! Walking from the house you are very quickly by the river, crossing fields and experiencing the beautiful countryside. All in all a great week away - we could easily have spent a fortnight and will look to come back.

The cottage was absolutely perfect; it had everything we needed and much more! Everything was pristine, gorgeously decorated and instantly felt like a home. It was in the perfect location with everything you need a walk away and all attractions only a short car ride. We took a 6 and 3 year old and they both didn't ever want to leave! Dave and Sarah were incredibly accommodating and even welcomed us with some treats when we arrived! We would absolutely book again, and strongly recommend this beautiful holiday home for anyone wanting to get away!

Great support from the owners and an easy to use house.. Modern house in Matlock on a busy-ish road. Close to an ok pub Duke of Wellington and slightly further to a brilliant pub The Thorn Tree. Excellent stay will be back.

A wonderful 4 bedroom house a few minutes walk (down a very steep hill! ) from Matlock town centre. Clean, well equipped and very welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay using the house as a base to explore Derbyshire from. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of space for 6 adults and a child, the kitchen was well equipped with, the family games and childrens toys were a big hit and the shower was amazing! Our only recommendation would be more clothes airers or a tumble dryer as 6 adults trying to get washing dry was a bit of a logistical nightmare! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider returning.

Everything was highly organised before arrival, the instructions were clear, and all went smoothly.. The cottage was very clean and there was a splendid "welcome" pack to greet us. What was so good was that the place was so very well equipped and stocked with virtually everything one could need. The beds were comfortable and the standard of decoration was high. The local council's arrangements for rubbish disposal were not at all clear and did not coincide with the council's own leaflet, but neighbours were helpful. All that was missing was some sort of tray in the shower to hold soap and shampoo. By the way, the shower was very efficient and roomy. It was easy to find and reach the local facilities, including the pub just along the road, which did good meals. There is much to do in the area and we had a lovely time. Thank you!

From the moment we arrived we were thrilled to find the extra special touches that the host had left us.. Flowers ,wine ,biscuits filter coffee, sweets and home made jam with a loaf of fresh bread amongst lots of other things. The whole house was amazingly clean and tidy and there were games and dvd s. we all enjoyed it so much.

Dukes View is a modern property, finished to a very high standard.. Comfortable beds, a very well equipped kitchen and spotless bathrooms. The owners were easily accessible and flexible on arrival and departure times. They even left wine, biscuits, bread, home made jam and a bunch of daffodil's. Duke of Wellington pub is 2 minutes walk away serving good food and at a reasonable price. Matlock town centre is a mile away down a steep hill, we would walk down and get a taxi back at £3 a journey well worth it. A beautiful property very highly recommended.

We had an absolutely brilliant Christmas at Dukes View! The house was everything we hoped for. We really appreciated the Christmas decorations & were pleased to arrive to some nice treats left for us by the owner. The company were really helpful, as was the owner himself. Lovely walks nearby & not far to walk into Matlock (although the Hill is incredibly steep- so much so that we had to fetch the car to bring my grandmother back up the hill when we went out!) the house is very clean & well presented. The kitchen is very well equipped. Only negative is that shower in the main bedroom changed temperature when other water was being run in the house- very minor issue though. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property & the company. Hopefully we’ll return one day!

We had a great stay in this lovely property over New Year.. Slight problem with the boiler but the owner had this sorted out super quick and was very helpful. The decor was tasteful and the house was decorated for Christmas which was very thoughtful (as was the pile of goodies left as a welcome gift). We would definitely stay here again.

The house was warm and the owner had put plug in fragrance diffusers in the principal rooms.. In the kitchen we found not only a wide range of groceries, rather more than the usual "get you in pack", but also a vase of yellow roses and a bottle of wine. Towels were plentiful and the beds very comfortable. The house was fully fitted with everything needed by its guests. The Wi-Fi and Sky Q were just as advertised. From the beginning we enjoyed the best of welcomes to what would be a most enjoyable holiday. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent house and its generous and helpful owner. I will certainly book it in the future.

Dukes View is a beautiful property and the small gesture of some biscuits and a much needed bottle of wine on arrival went a long way to making us feel very welcome! David phoned us the night before check in to go through things we needed to know which was really useful and was available to contact throughout our stay should we have needed him. The property is beautifully laid out and has all the amenities you could possibly want for a family holiday in the Peaks, they even allowed us to bring our dog who is also a very important part of our family! I would highly recommend this property for a weekend getaway, its conveniently located to local shops, pubs and a park, as well being close to the villages of Bakewell and Chatsworth, all good for walking. But if you fancy more access to a city, its a 40 minute drive to Sheffield and about 30 minutes from Chesterfield. I didn't want to leave! An amazing property.

Very good location with easy access to Matlock Bath and surrounding area.. Owner was very helpful with any issues, endeavouring to resolve them as quickly as possible. He even posted a rucksack back to me that I had mistakenly left behind and refused any recompense - above and beyond the call of duty!

The property was in excellent condition.. Very clean, comfortable and with all the facilities we needed. The owners were very accessible on the phone for any questions we had and were flexible on arrival and departure times where possible. Although the lounge and kitchen are compact, they were still comfortable for our party of 6 adults and 3 small children. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. Wifi was available and good speed. We would highly recommend this property in order to visit Matlock and the surronding areas.

Fantastic property, spotlessly clean and beds were so comfortable everyone slept like babies! Really well equipped home with everything you need for a self catering holiday, owner even left some lovely ice cream to enjoy on arrival which was thoughtful. Wifi was superfast which the older children appreciated. Great location for exploring with some good walks right on the doorstep including Lumsdale Falls. Pub a minutes walk from the property with kids play area and reasonably priced food. All in all a great value property and wouldn't hesitate to book again if we are in the area.

The cottage was a great base to explore matlock and the area.. The kitchen had everything we needed to self cater. We would recommend the local pub, Duke of Wellington for good value, good food and service and only a short walk from the cottage.
