The cottage has been newly renovated to a high standard, we were one of the first to stay and they have done a great job. They have made the effort to retain a lot of the original features in combination with modernising it so it is the perfect holiday cottage.
The kitchen is well fitted out with everything you need (including a separate bottle fridge which is always handy!), the lounge is comfortable with plenty of seating and a wood fire (although we didn't need it), there is also a separate dining area which was great.
The outside space is fantastic comprising of an outdoor dining table, snug and garden area. The 'snug' outside is an added bonus, when the nights are a bit darker / chilly this is a perfect area for drinks and nibbles with it's own heater and comfy seating. The garden is up some fairly steep / uneven steps so maybe think twice if you have small children, this is a great spot though for the hotter days to sunbathe / enjoy, while you are surrounded by houses, it doesn't feel overlooked and still feels private. I would say the only thing missing outside is a BBQ! There is an electric car charging point to the side of the house, however it is only a 3 pin plug, so will take several hours to charge your car.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, all good size, we stayed in the double with the ensuite, the bed was comfortable with great pillows, the wall heaters are exceptionally quick in warming the room up (we visited over a cold weekend in August so just needed the edge of chilliness taking off!). The shower in the ensuite was fine, good temperature and decent water pressure. The main bathroom was beautiful with free-standing bath and double sized shower (although i didn't use either!). We heard absolutely no noise from neighbours over our 3 day stay so it really was a lovely peaceful getaway.
Only couple of points i'd mention - there is parking for one car only (and you do need to make sure you're squeezed right in, otherwise you block the road for the rest of the residents!), but there is street parking not too far away and remember to duck through the doors if you're anything approaching 6 foot in height!
Overall this is a fantastic place to stay, it's around £12 for a taxi to Richmond which is lovely and has lots of pubs / eateries. Or if you want to stay closer to home the Black Bull pub is literally a 1 minute walk from your doorstep. I really couldn't find fault with this little gem!
