We had a lovely three nights at Dovetail cottage.. The weather was brilliant and the cottage was very comfortable. The close proximity to the town centre was a distict advantage. The parking is restricted but big enough for my car which is only small. Overall very clean and comfortable, hope to return sometime soon.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Dovetail Cottage.. The cottage was lovely and so central for everything in Llangollen. It was clean, comfortable and had everything you'd need. I was also pleased that there was space for my little car at the rear of the cottage! If you had more than one car we noticed that there is parking for £4 a day at the church hall across the road, which would be handy! Lovely pubs in Llangollen (The Corn Mill and Three Eagles were perfect). We also did the Pen y Coed woodland trust walk on a sunny day which was beautiful and only down the road (loads of bluebells). Chirk Castle only a short drive away and well worth the visit!

The cottage has plenty of space and light, and felt really cosy. Fully equipped and only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre and attractions. Owners live on site in case of any issues. There is Wifi, but a bit patchy (fab for going off the grid!)

My Husband and I had a lovely relaxing week at Dovetail Cottage. The cottage is warm, cosy, immaculately clean & tastefully decorated. In addition, it is well-equipped from cooking facilities to entertainment (tv, DVD player, games & jigsaws etc). Ideally situated for shops, cafes, restaurants & pubs We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will be returning

We spent Christmas there and found the cottage beautifully decorated for the holidays.. The Christmas tree was so real looking and a lot of work went into it. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Would return to this area and accommodation.. We were there for a Steampunk Festival so did not get the chance to visit some of the other attractions in the area. The flat is an old stone built property adjacent to the owners home. Really good location for the town. Shops, cafes , restaurants etc all very close by. Was given good instructions on how to find the property although found the lane leading to it a bit scary to negotiate. Steep track with the restricted view when leaving and pulling out onto the road. Although the property sleeps four, and is big enough to accommodate four, the two beds on the mezzanine floor are obviously open and not very private , which some people may find awkward. As there was only two of us this was not a problem. Also the fridge freezer takes up a lot of space and prevents a fourth person sitting at the table. Comfortable bed with nice bedding and a all round nicely furnished property. Some of the furniture has been updated since the photos on Sykes website. Homely feel to the place. Not suitable for anyone with mobility disabilities due to the steps at the front and steep lane at the back. Had a great weekend and would recommend

Lovely cottage in a great location

This property does suffer from woodlice invading into the bathroom, which could be quite off-putting to some visitors.. Each morning I came to take a shower, only to find 2 - 3 alive woodlice in the bottom of the shower cubicle. These would removed humanely using toilet paper, but I suspect they are getting up inside the drain. Parking is also a problem, with very limited space outside the property - it can take two 'supermini' type cars, but would not fit a people carrier or long estate car. Otherwise facilities were very good.

Loved this quirky little cottage .. The location was great , really central. The quality of the workmanship of the renovation and also the furniture , bedding etc was excellent. Didn't really use any of the cooking facilities so.cant really comment on the microwave or oven but everything was there that you could need. Even the settee ( which I thought looked uncomfortable initially ) was actually quite fitting in the room and we both fell asleep on it so no problems there . The cornmill for food was amazing and fouzis cafe was excellent for service coffee and cake :)

The name "Dovetail Cottage" is deceptive it is an "apartment".. More style than substance. Lovely oak furniture but it was just the little things: the kettle didn't reach boiling point to make a decent cup of tea; the settee and armchairs were not comfortable; the tv remote was reluctant to work properly; lovely new bathroom but no shelves to put stuff on, nowhere in the splendid shower to put stuff, no hooks to hang a robe or clothes on. Very convenient location for Llangollen and very central for touring North Wales.

Dovetails cottage is a warm, well equipped and comfortable property situated within easy walking distance to the town centre with all the amenities you need. Plenty of pubs, restaurants and hotels for a meal and drinks. (The Cornmill pub/restaurant in the town centre - walk down the side of the bridge - is a must due to the location, food and the atmosphere). The property has everything you need including a huge fridge/freezer and the furnishing are first class (the owners have a outside table on the roadside which they sell fresh eggs which are well worth buying). The large bathroom is gorgeous with a large walk-in shower and a roll top bath. The only slight negatives for anyone with mobility problems would be a steep step down to the bathroom and also the steps outside. The parking is accessed by the rear of the property down a steep narrow track. For groceries there is a Co-op across the road and a Spar 1 minute away. Aldi and Home Bargains have also opened stores which are convenient for shopping. We walked miles down the canal and by the river, visiting horseshoe falls and we found many places of historical interest. Travelling to the north coast we found Talacre where the beach is perfect for a walk (on the road before Prestatyn & Rhyl). For larger shopping therapy try Wrexham and Oswestry both of which are easily accessible. We found Llangollen a lovely town to stay in and are looking forward to stay again in "Dovetail".

EXREMELY COSY, WARM AND WELL EQUIPPED PROPERTY WITHIN CLOSE PROXIMITY OF ALL AMENITIES AND YET VERY QUIET AND PEACEFUL.. A VERY COMFORTABLE STAY. (THE BATHROOM IS GORGEOUS). ONLY NEGATIVE WOULD BE FOR ANYONE WITH MOBILITY PROBLEMS AS THERE ARE STEPS UP TO THE PROPERTY AND ALSO STEPS TO THE BATHROOM.

A fantastic cottage. The children loved their room upstairs on the mezzanine floor with its wooden beams and little windows. The cottage is located literally a 2 minute walk from a shop, pub and several restaurants, and most places within the village can be accessed on foot within 5 minutes. Overall a great stay in a great place and we look forward to returning in the future.

The property location was perfect for town and restaurants. We never moved the car for most of the holiday as walking routes could be started from cottage. The property itself was quiet and peaceful. The owners were pleasant and checked we were ok. Hard to find any fault at all. Llangollen is a good base for boat and train rides and the people were very friendly wherever we went.

A super cottage, just as described by yourselves. It was amazingly handy for Llangollen itself, so much so that most days we didn't need to use the car. It was very comfy, nice and warm, and the owners were friendly and happy to chat. Would certainly like to go back if funds allow.

Dovetail Cottage is located very centrally and easy walking distance of all of Llangollen's restaurants and pubs. Cottage has all the facilities required, except washing facilities, but the Laundromat is just over the road. Very comfortable and plenty of space. No internet however which is a negative. Had a great stay here with 4 adults. Car parking is a bonus, and the owner is very helpful. Lots of stairs though to the property from the town side

Spotlessly clean cottage in a most convenient location. There are shops and restaurants extremely close and it proved to be an excellent base for a week's walking holiday without a car. The countryside around is beautiful in all directions and easily reached. Thoroughly recommended.
