This is a tidy, well equipped and cosy cottage, ideal for a couple.. If you have a dog (we don't) the garden is enclosed so no problems there. The view across the Dee estuary to the Wirral ad beyond is absolutely astonishing! It changes every time you look out of the well situated patio doors or the private garden. The owner is close by should the need rise but otherwise leaves you to enjoy your time there. The hamlet of Dolphin is very small, just the pub and a few houses but Holywell is a 5 minute drive away (actually, it is walkable for the fitter amongst us). It's ideally situated for travelling West or East to explore the seaside towns of North Wales or some of the inland towns such as Mold. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at Dolphin Bach and would recommend it to a couple looking for a break away with space and time to relax.

Lovely clean cosy and well equipped cottage in a secluded village.. Nice friendly welcome by Helen & Bramley (a friendly dog). Fabulous views of the bay and a good base for touring North Wales & Chester. Our dog loved the secure garden which had plenty of birds and the odd rabbit. Only downside was the sofa was too low, however this has not stopped us from booking again for next May.

What a little gem of a place, stayed for 3 nights, the photos don't do the place justice, it's immaculately clean, has the most beautiful garden full of birds and rabbits overlooking fabulous countryside. There is some road noise but wouldn't put us off returning. Lovely little place.

Your photograph of Dolphin Bach does not do it justice and is clearly out of date.. A particular attraction of the cottage are the wonderful views but are these mentioned in your description of the property? These comments apart, it is a very appealing cosy country cottage, full of character and beautifully maintained. We look forward to returning.

This cottage was an ideal place to relax and recharge the views over the Dee Estuary were lovely.. Its location makes it an ideal base for exploring the North Wales coast and the many historic attractions. The cottage was well equipped with plenty of kitchen utensils and a good cooker. A pub is very nearby but we were that comfortable in the cottage we didn't eat there.

The best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in.. The owner was near by, very pleasant and knowledgeable of places to visit. Without imposing, she went out of her way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The pub, 5 minutes walk away, served 3 real ales, good wines and food. Would we return to this cottage, definitely. Would we recommend it, most certainly.

We liked that the cottage was very disabled friendly (as my husband is in a wheelchair and cannot stand). The views and the wildlife were great, but above all the owners made all the difference, lovely couple with a can do attitude to any queries we had, nothing was too much to ask, and they genuinely mean it. What a breath of fresh air in a world where even the swankiest of hotels on occasion don't give two hoots about customer care after they have been paid. Having now found this little gem that suits our needs we will be going back as soon as we can arrange time off work, hopefully this year, but definitely next!

A place with really high standards the furniture and furnishings were superb. The owners could not have been more welcoming and the welcome goodies were a bonus. Ideal for a romantic break or just a few days to re-charge yourself from the outside hustle and bustle of everyday life.
