The house had everything that we needed to have a lovely holiday.. Excellent kitchen. Only problem was with the washing machine but we figured out that if you pressed hard against the door it would begin the cycle. The location was fantastic. Beautiful views from the garden. Would definately recommend.

We loved staying at Dolau and the pictures don’t do it justice.. . gardens are beautiful.. we were very lucky to have the hydrangeas in full bloom! We were very impressed with the cleanliness and preparation for Covid which made the stay easy and worry free. The cherry on the cake was the welcome gifts which were ideal for settling in after a long drive

We loved Dolau, however our 3 kids hated the slow wifi and assumed that the world was ending.. .. and the shower could do with being a little more efficient but other than that we had a great time and would go back again.

Bungalow was clean, spacious and well laid out.. Beds were very comfortable as were sofas in lounge. Lovely secluded spot with far reaching views of countryside. Both Tywyn and Aberdovey beaches are relatively close by (about 5 miles) and are sandy and clean. Lovely walks from doorstep, amongst others I particularly liked early morning walk down towards Tonfanau. I would recommend Dolau to anyone wanting to escape the fast pace of modern life in a beautiful part of the country.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here at Dolau.. The bungalow was clean, comfortable and had all the mod cons necessary to make life easier. It was very quiet and easy to find and reading previous comments it seems like the owners have made big improvements as we did not have many of the problems raised. When we arrived there was no logs for the wood burner but after speaking to the owners this was promptly sorted out and they were very helpful so no complaints there. Only other negatives were the bath was very uncomfortable and the shower a bit 'weasy'. The parking area could do with more hardstanding as you got muddy feet walking to the car. It could do with some outside PIR lighting too as at night being away from any streetlights it was pitch black around the bungalow. And lastly, the electric towel rail in the bathroom could do with being taller and higher up. But we would recommend this place without a doubt and it was perfectly adequate for a 3 star rated let.

Dusty with cobwebs everywhere no iron furniture sagging and very uncomfortable bath mat too small washing machine didn’t work unless you lent on the door no bread board.. Could be a lovely place to stay with a bit of TLC as the location is great.

The lady that helped us find our last minute break was great and took her time to help find the right place for us and our dog.. The accomodation was in a lovely peaceful setting and having the garden was great with beautiful views. Had everything you needed and was clean however the cleaners could do with spending a bit of time sorting the cobwebs! Good break in a beautiful part of the world.

Dishwasher didn’t work , no information in welcome pack on WiFi and so payed for WiFi only to find a code days later under the machine.. A simple paragraph in the welcome pack would have been helpful. The welcome pack was falling apart. The washing line was hanging in and needed repairing along with furniture and soft furnishings. We had a pleasant week as the bungalow was a base and the price was reasonable . But overall the place needs updating and a good clean I have never seen so many cobwebs inside a home that had just supposed to be cleaned.

We enjoyed out stay at Dolau.. The cottage is quiet and has a private garden, which we liked. The kitchen was well equipped and the rooms were nicely decorated and beds very comfortable. Some of our towels had a doggy smell, (even after we washed them!) which was a bit off-putting, and the dishwasher wasn't working but all in all, we had a great time. There were lots of sights to see and nice beaches and walks in the area. I enjoyed the Leather Workshop which was just down the lane round the corner from the cottage.

Overall the bungalow (not a cottage) was fine, the rooms were a good size and the kitchen was well equipped.. It was detached, so this suited us very well, in a quiet location, great little garden overlooking the countryside. It is in a nice location with easy access to the attractions. It was great sitting outside to eat and to relax. The little sign on the grass verge was too small and not noticeable enough. The parking for 2 cars was a bit tight, as the lane was quite narrow. The hedges may need to be cut back a bit. There were a few issues; -There were no bin bags so this was highly inconvenient and we had to then try and purchase some. It was very inconvenient having to dispose of our rubbish and recycling ourselves, it would have been better if this could have been done by the cleaner after we had checked out. It was quite difficult to find the facilities to dispose of the rubbish and recycling, as we were not locals and did not really know where to go. - There were no tea towels, so it was difficult to dry the crockery and cutlery, had we known, we would have brought some. In addition to this, there was no draining rack, which meant when we washed up we had to dry plates etc as there was no where to stack them. -The bathroom door did not have a lock, which wasn't a great problem but the spring in the door handle had gone, so the door wouldn't close at all, so kept opening, which was annoying when we were using the bathroom, as we were not with family but with another couple (friends) -The water pressure in the shower was very low, so showering was not great. -We were not told until after we booked that the dogs could not be left in the bungalow un-supervised, this would have been helpful to have known before booking, so we could have made an informed decision. -The bungalow was quite dusty as well. -The lighting in the kitchen was too dark, the spot lights need to be brighter, as it was difficult in the evening when preparing food. -The mattress in the double room was too soft for me, but my husband liked it, -The iron leaked even when it wasn't on, the ironing board needs to have a new cover.

We had a really lovely relaxing break, the cottage had everything we needed it was like home from home.. Only one thing that I think is needed was a lock on the bathroom door but other than that we will definitely be booking again many thanks the Davies xx

On entering everything looked OK, until having a better look around. In the kitchen the glass on the cooker hood had not been cleaned and the filter need a good was. On entering the room there was ash all on the hearth and the fireplace not cleaned up. Dust on ornaments and television stand clearly not been dusted. Glass table top not been cleaned finger marks on the top and underneath. Shower screen not cleaned either. I dont expect to walk in and have to start cleaning.I have never been to a rented cottage and not been left a pint of milk or a spare toilet roll. Attention to detail absolutely lacking. Dust on a lot of flat surfaces. Note on the kitchen to say they have had complaints about strong dog smells on the bed linen in the bedrooms causes extra work for the cleaners! Surely the bed linen has been washed. Also states if you any issues with cleanliness contact the cleaners within an hour of arrival and they will attend within one hour phone number obliterated!

On entering everything looked OK, then walked into the room.. Ash was all over the hearth and fireplace not been cleaned, the glass top on the table not cleaned finger marks above and below the glass, shower screen not cleaned, the glass on the cooker hood the same, the filter of the cooker hood not been cleaned in ages. Dust on ornaments and television stand and various other surfaces, I don’t expect to walk into a place and have to start cleaning. Note in kitchen if you have a problem contact the cleaners they will respond within an hour phone number obliterated. Attention to detail by the cleaners is lacking. I have never been to any cottage before where there hasn’t been a pint of milk in the fridge or a spare toilet roll. In one bedroom no full length hanging space in the wardrobe all the space taken up by towels and bedlinen.

Wow what a gem of a place, the bungalow is absolutely lovely, such an ideal place to just chill and relax tucked away nicely in such a quiet area, we explored a lot of walks around the different areas and Tywyn beach was great for the dogs such a beautiful part of the country, you do need a car if your going to visit places, our dogs really enjoyed the freedom in the garden, would book this place again no problem at all..

May 2018
Area is nice.. Kitchen good, beds comfortable. However, tye advertised cottage does not match reality, let me give some examples: 1. Its not a cottage, its a pre-fab bungalow. 2. Upon arrival the fence leading to the property was damaged, blocking the only access in and out. Therefore me and my wife had to conduct repairs in a torrential thunderstorm simply to get in. 3. No DVD player, although advertises that there is one. 4. No door into kitchen meaning that we heard dog snoring all night. 5. No lock onto toilet door. 6. Rear Garden needs grass cut and tidy up to prevent bees / wasps entering property.

Was a fantastic setting in a lovely warm cosy bungalow.. Just a shame the garden wasn’t fully enclosed as stated to let the dog have the free run. Had a super relaxing break and lovely walks. Can’t wait to return

Lovely cottage, deceptively large, photos do not do it justice.. Spotlessly clean, wonderful facilities, large secure garden which our dogs appreciated. Will be booking again for next year.
February 2018
Please re consider if thinking of booking this place we went for a week stay, I had to clean the kitchen and oven prior to use, then came the nasty surprise on the first night whilst unpacking we found what appeared to be lines of dead insects underneath the bed we were to sleep in (see pictures) the whole place was covered in cobwebs and spiders. According to the owner cleaners had been that morning what utter rubbish, we then discovered we were living with wasps rang the owner who contacted pest control that was 2 days off our weeks holiday turned out there was an active wasp nest that had gotten into one of the rooms. I have had numerous discussions and messages with the owner who has numerous times stated he would offer some kind of refund however despite being very patient none arrived. Please please do not book to stay here unless you want to spend days cleaning and sleeping next to dead insects and goodness knows what else!!!!!!!!

Fabulous bungalow everything you need for your stay.. Area was lovely if you want to be in the middle of nowhere. Easy to access nearest town and shops. Only thing I will say with the bungalow, is the plumbing needs looking at. The bath took nearly all day to drain away water from a morning shower and the toilet only flushed properly once and then would take ages to refill. Also some of the bedroom lamps didn’t have light bulbs in them.

Would consider booking this property but a few things would make me thing again.. This is the second time I have been to it roughly at the same time of year as well. This year it rained a lot which did not spoil the holiday but made it very difficult to get to the car and not get covered in mud or slip over on the very narrow slate path.the concrete area needs to be made much bigger to park your car on and walk to the gate. The property is good value for money basic and does the job but could do with a little tlc.

Lovely location.. You do have to drive everywhere as in a hamlet with no facilities. But local shops just z couple miles away. As is the beaches. Lovely views of mountains and short drive to stunning view of sea.

It was a lovely bungalow.. In a very nice area. The only criticism is the neighbours hedge along the drive needs cutting as it scratches the car
