Area
The thriving market town of Ballinrobe is located on the River Robe in County Mayo, close to both Lough Mask and Lough Corrib. Apparently the oldest town in South Mayo, this settlement dates as far back as the 1300s. This town retains a vibrant atmosphere with a diverse range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Due to its convenient placement on the border between regions, this wonderful little settlement makes a good base for those wishing to explore both County Galway and County Mayo. With excellent fishing lakes and good golf facilities close by too, Ballinrobe has plenty for those who enjoy the great outdoors. Both the Mayo and Galway coastlines are worth visiting and can be easily reached in a couple of hours, as can the world famous Connemara National Park.

The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

My family and I stayed at this lovely cottage for 6 night's. It's very cosy and warm, especially when the fire is on. The cottage is very clean and had everything you might need. Great location too, close to Cong and Galway. A great base for traveling around the wild Atlantic Way. Fiona, our host, couldn't have been more accommodating. Highly recommend this place. We will definatley be coming back next time we visit.

Delia's Cottage was an awesome place to stay--it was very clean, comfortable and was the ultimate Irish cottage! We had a great time and only wish that we had more time to spend there. Fiona, the owner, was phenomenal to work with and she went out of her way to make sure that our stay was the best that it could be. She left us pastries and even made us a fire on the first day of our visit. We would DEFINITELY rebook Delia's Cottage again! Thanks so much Fiona!
