Lots of space for a large group to gather together in the kitchen or living room in comfort, whilst having plenty of areas to spread out rather than being on top of each other (9 adults, 4 young children including a baby). The kitchen is extremely well equipped - there was nothing we couldn't find, including a cafetiere. Small, enclosed, lawned garden - great for the dogs and for drying washing (washing line and pegs provided). The floors are beautiful, polished wood so care is needed with small children and dogs - we had several episodes of human and canine splits in the first couple of days. Thank you, Barbara, for your hospitality and providing the perfect venue for a special birthday x

Beautiful barn, in beautiful surroundings.. Really clean & comfortable. Nice welcome from the owner, who gave us information on where to eat locally. Would certainly recommend this stay to anyone & will book again . 13 of us aged from 30-50+ stayed for my daughters 40th celebrations & everyone had a fabulous time .

We stayed here with friends in February and could find no fault. The proprietor, Barbara, went more than the extra mile to ensure our stay was beyond expectations despite the winter weather. We have stayed in many locations but this was superb value

As a group of ladies who regularly meet up to do outdoor activities together, we have used a number of different facilities over the last few years.. We ALL agreed that this was the best ever!! The barn is beautiful and very well appointed. It has all mod cons and is spotless. Such a luxury to have en-suite in every room( the lucky people with the Jacuzzi bath were very impressed!) Plenty of lounge space to all sit comfortably and a well appointed kitchen with a great table for shared meals. Our hostess was really kind, leaving us cakes and milk for when we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble and we loved the pot painting session that we did on Saturday night ...with our wine!! We don't make a habit of returning to the same place twice, but this time will be an exception ....it's just too nice not to do again! Very many thanks.

As much as this is a stunning house, the cleanliness far out weight it for me.. Bathrooms were very dirty and we has to sweep up the whole of down stairs the day we Got there. also, the bed were a nightmare Even putting 2 mattresses on top of eachother felt like laying on rocks, not comfortable at all. Nearly £600 for the 3 nights, not worth it at all.

The spacious house enabled the family to have quality time together but our own space too .. It is in a wonderful part of beautiful Wales . Not too far for driving to lagoons, Snowdonia, Caernafon. The Electric Mountain visit was amazing . Our hostess and host were extremely helpful , attentive when needed and we ran out of time for all the things we could have done including the Piggery Pottery . We had coffee and a quick visit on the morning we left but it is worth going to !

Upon arriving things looked fantastic but once we settled in we noticed a few issues. Living room 1. The setters in the lounge were so flat that the owner has stuffed thick mad boards underneath which makes the setters ridiculously uncomfortable. 2. The dirt under the setters was disgusting clearly never been moved. 3. The sky did not work and no instructions left. 4. There is a water stain in the living room next to the sky light i noticed this was reported in 2013 but has still not been resolved. Downstairs bedrooms 1. The bedding was so filthy we had to strip the beds on the first night. 2. The amount of dirt on the floors and under draws was disgusting. 3. The bathroom in the downstairs double was so badly moulded on the ceiling above the shower i dont know how the ceiling is still up. Bedrooms upstairs 1. The bathroom in the bedroom above the living room area are full of extreme mould. 2. The large bedroom the ensuite was filthy. 3. The two sofa beds were at breaking point and one actually collapsed. 4. The cot upstairs is unfit for any child out of the 11 women that went we are 10 are parents and would never put our children in it. Kitchen 1. Cupboards are literally falling off their hinges 2. Fridges were filthy 3. Draws were falling off their runners. 4. Glassware chipped excessively From pictures and past reviews you would think this house was rectified all looks well on the outside. Unfortunately we will not be returning and will be asking for our money back. We will also be reporting the disgusting and hazardous conditions of this house.

Fabulous place.. This was our second time visiting the barn and will be going back again! Barbara the lady that looks after you cannot do enough for you while you are there, the rooms are fantastic and obviously the location is perfect! The only negative thing I could say is some of the sofas are getting ready to be replaced but that would really be looking for something. Fab place and fab host! Thanks Barbara we will be seeing you again!

We have stayed at this cottage before about 5 years ago when it was relatively new.. There are a couple of minor issues with the showers - some regrouting needed. We found the control of water temperature erratic in the shower in room number 1. There are not enough glasses for the capacity of 14 although there is plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment. It is a great space for large parties and having ensuite rooms a bonus. Wood burner warmed main sitting room, plentiful supply of logs. Everyone loved Piggery Pottery and came away with souvenirs of their stay. With a little t l c this house could be wonderful again. Represents good value for money for large parties.

Fantastic holiday home, was perfect for a group of 4 families to get together to celebrate a birthday, Barbara the owner was very helpful and the kids enjoyed painting a pot in piggery pottery.. Fabulous area and the local pub is great and serves good pub grub at reasonable prices (portions are large though!!). All in all a great weekend was had and I would definitely recommend & visit again.

Due to the location of this property, many people arrive at night.. The signage and driveway to the barn isn't lit up at all which makes finding it at night very difficult. I also take a dog with me as this property is pet friendly. I take the dog for walks late at night and early in the morning, and with the driveway not lit up, it makes walking quite difficult. The property is absolutely splendid and kept to a reasonably high standard, if I was to complain it would be the heating of the bedrooms and water isn't good. But I've stayed here before and knew what to expect. The owner Barbara is a very pleasant lady who wants to make sure you have a good stay. I have stayed at this property twice and would do so again. Which speaks volumes.

Unfortunately the property was filthy! There were cobwebs and spiders attaching lamps to walls and ceilings in all rooms. It clearly hadn't been swept or hoovered as he floor was covered in dark grey dog hair. The upstairs bathroom adjoining the bedroom with sofa bed leaked into the lounge rendering it unusable.. this was reported on trip advisor in 2014 but was still doing this last week! The bathrooms and showers especially had hair and mould in them and the bedding was awful. The duvets didn't fit the duvet covers so they were continually becoming tangled. The property was advertised as having wifi which it did but this was shared with the adjoining pottery business meaning it was inaccessible. There was no information at all in the property regarding the local area, property details or comments/guest book from previous visitors. The house was also situated on an extrealmy busy and noisy road which is not stated in the details. We are very disappointed and feel for the money we paid not even basic cleanliness expectations were met.

A group of 10 female friends had the barn for the weekend and we had a marvelous time. We were welcomed with welsh cakes an bara brith, tea coffee and fresh flowers! The barn is laid out well with plenty of places for wet coats, walking boots and a comfortable lounge for a large group. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you very much.

Stayed here for my 60th birthday celebrations with my husband, children and grandchildren. We had a fantastic time - the barn was amazing, really spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar, bara brith and welsh cakes were provided on arrival (a lovely touch) and, as soon as I met Barbara, the owner, I knew we had come to a very special place. Nothing was too much trouble and being able to go into Piggery Pottery for an evening, once it was closed to the public, was absolutely brilliant! All of us came away with something special we had made. We would definitely come back to stay here - a truly amazing holiday. Thank you Barbara!

August 2016
14 of us congregated to celebrate my mum's 60th. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The barn was perfect for us: tons of space, well equipped and a great location between Llanberis for Snowdon and Canaerfon for castles and cream teas :) However, what really made our stay was our host, Barbara. Thank you Barbara for being so kind, thoughtful and funny! Our kids adored you...and the rest of us thought you're pretty great too. Barbara runs the barn, farmhouse, livery and a wonderful pottery cafe 'Piggery Pottery'...as well as painting really beautiful and distinctive paintings in her 'spare time'! We had great fun throwing a pot on Barbara's potter's wheel, and also painting keepsakes which will be a lovely reminder of a perfect holiday. This was such an unexpected bonus when our Great British weather wasn't so great. Can't recommend this highly enough for families and big groups.

We planned a surprise 70th birthday holiday for our parents. Barbara was ever so helpful with all our requests to ensure we had a successful break. The barn is beautiful. 5 good size bedrooms, all ensuite: room 1 is the downstairs double. room 2 has 2 sets of bunk beds and a nightlight. Room 3 is a twin. Room 4 a double (both upstairs via the staircase in the lounge). Room 5 is accessed via the staircase in the kitchen... the room is huge, with a jacuzzi bath in the ensuite and beautiful views. The workmanship is evident in the barn...quality oak staircases etc. We had an amazing week and would go back...great location to get to lots of places of interest. Food in the local pub is fab...huge portions!! We loved our holiday.

January 2016
Spacious accommodation, generally furnished to a high standard, and boasting an extremely well equipped (huge) kitchen. Some very minor issues e.g. some missing remotes for bedroom TVs, slightly tired bedding, but picking holes really. Have rarely stayed in such a beautiful rental. Beds are memory foam and extremely comfortable, some traffic noise on weekday mornings but you quickly acclimatise. Great location, and only a couple of minutes walk to the pub! Piggery pottery next door is a delightful bonus on rainy days, and the owner has been very helpful, accommodating and easy to contact. Would definitely stay again - at off-peak rates this is an exceptional bargain.

I would recommend the property for large parties and families of mixed ages and abilities . Its very spacious and all rooms having an ensuite is a real bonus. The large dinning table was great for meal times too. The location is an excellent base for exploring using your own transport. Barbara was very hospitable and was there only when needed.

I stayed in this beautiful house for 3 nights with 10 of my friends! The house was perfect for what we wanted. It is a perfect size, the rooms were very nice, and the overall experience was very good. The pottery place was very fun and cheap too! I would highly recommend this to anyone from families to a group of friends. Very very good weekend!

Plenty of space for the family to be together but still have own space if they wanted it. Location was excellent with plenty on offer in the surrounding area. Friendliness of the owner who was more than willing to accommodate our requests, eg grandchildren visiting animals on farm. Great idea having pottery available as well. Children had great time painting pigs!

July 2013
A very well appointed barn conversion, ideal for our extended family of 9 giving both space and comfort with a great separation of eating from relaxing and sleeping; stars were master bedroom and lounge. The bonuses were a pottery for the kids (and adults!) to test their skills and a walk to a lovely river across fields. The owner was friendly and very helpful immediately sorting out any little problems. Ideal location for easy access to mountains, beaches, castles and railways. Excellent value for money

We visited for a family weekend away where we celebrated my 30th birthday. We rented Ddol Helyg farm house also as we had a large party of 20 people ranging from age 6 to 83! We also took our dogs which the house was great for, with wooden heated floors throughout! This accommodation was modern and had all the facilities and everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, bowls, cups serving dishes and abled us to cook a roast dinner for all of the party. The lounge was very spacious and great that everyone could get a seat while relaxing round the wood burner and playing games with the children. The house catered for everything and having a ground floor double bedroom with en-suite was great for a relative who had a broken ankle and couldn't make the stairs! Overall this is an amazing modern house in a great location and I would definitely not hesitate to recommend it to families. The owner Barbara was very friendly and allowed us to stay in piggery pottery after closing where all the family(adults included) painted pots and other pottery! I hope we can visit again sometime. Please see my review on the Ddol Helyg Farm House if you have a large party.

The property has the 'WOW' factor! The space, light and layout lends itself well to family living. The owner and potter, was extremely helpful and we had many happy hours in the workshop and enjoyed the personal tour. It's location is a great launch pad to other locations with just a short journey to the coast or mountains. Having the option of creative recreation and refreshment on site makes this a unique option, one we would choose again!

The Barn was amazing! Very comfortable for 14 adults; plenty of space. A lovely location for walks, easy parking, we took the dogs with us for their first holiday and the Barn is great and dog friendly; an enclosed area at the back to let them out last thing at night. The owner was also very helpful. The Farmhouse is next door and with the Barn could easily take 28 members; superb to get together with family and friends.

on arrival we thought the barn was fantastic it is beautiful the owners should be proud, but unfortunatley the cleanliness was not what it should be.the two cookers and microwave were not clean and we found dishes in the cupboard dirty which was a real shame to say the least.also on top of that there were two seperate occasions where 6 of us had to finish our shower in cold water because the hot had run out.it is a lovely place though and very spacious.. but to improve it the owners should check it over when the cleaners are done
