Fabulous cosy home from home.. Location is perfect to visit Staithes, Runswick Bay, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay. Ideal for walking and great if you have a dog. There are 2 pubs on your doorstep and a lovely butcher's just down the road. You have a coop for anything else you may need just a couple of mins drive away. Would definitely stay here again. Xxx

A lovely little cottage , cosy at night with the log burner lit.. Had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean with no doggie smells , we were greeted with a lovely welcome pack and a toy and treats for our dog , the garden is fully enclosed which our Westie Dexter loved, couple of dog friendly pubs in the village and a good butchers which also sells papers the whole area is extremely dog friendly,

Crabapple is a lovely cosy cottage in a quite location with a large secure back garden with barbeque, picnic table and chiminea.. The cottage has everything that you will require and the owners provided a nice welcome pack of bread, milk ,eggs and jam, even some things for Halloween. There is a combi boiler giving unlimited heating and hot water, also a log burner and enough logs provided for a couple of nights. Hinderwell is on the main bus route to Whitby and there are walks north to Staithes & south to Runswick, Sandsend & Whitby. There are two pubs in the village both dog friendly a butchers and a fish & chip shop, a couple of miles up in Staithes is a good co-op and another chip shop.

The cottage was everything we could have wanted.. Our Labrador loved the garden which was a very good size. The welcome pack of eggs, jams, bread, cake and milk was totally unexpected and gratefully received. There was even a little welcome pack for our dog; treats, a bowl, towel and a new rope ball. The cottage was cosy and snug- just perfect to come back to after a long day on the beach or walk along the cliff tops. The owners, Brigette and Mark have thought of everything and it was a real home from home. The cottage is in a great location, handy for scores of different places including Runswick Bay, Sandsend, Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby. We have already booked for the same time next year. Beautiful cottage, loved it!

We were welcomed on our arrival by a table laid out for breakfast with bread, eggs in eggcups and a range of jams and marmalade, there was even a cake on a cake stand, ready for afternoon tea.. in the kitchen, was a dog bowl with treats and even a brand new rope ball for her to play with. she loved racing up and down the long garden after the ball. The house in general was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Thanks to our hosts for doing a great job and i am sure that we will be back again in the future.

The cottage is very cosy and well equipped with everything you made need and all to a high standard.. The extras provided such as a loaf of bread, eggs, jams & milk were much appreciated on our arrival. There were even treats for the dog and provision of dog bowl, dog towel and toys which were really unexpected ! We enjoyed lots of walks in the spectacular surrounding countryside and the nearby beaches are all pretty with nice sandy beaches.

The car parking was fairly difficult and the car was parked under a tree covered in bird droppings.. Wasn't impressed with the shower but there was a bath so that was okay. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could need.Nice welcoming pack of bread, eggs, cake ,jams and milk and treats and toys for the dog. Location very good, within walking distance of Staithes one way and Runswick Bay the other.Nice enclosed back garden with barbecue ,picnic bench and umbrella.Overall a very good holiday in a lovely comfortable cottage.

We have just spent another week at Crabapple cottage, this is a lovely cottage, clean and tidy and very well equipped. Every little thing has been thought out you require nothing. The back garden is large and we spent a few hours in this garden - equipped with picnic table, barbeque, toys for kids and dogs and comfortable chairs to sunbathe. Hinderwell is a typical old village, the people are very friendly, the butchers is worth a special mention - good meat, morning papers and general provisions. Good meals at the Brown Cow, lots of places around to visit both towns and villages. Interesting in Runswick Bay unspoilt little village good beach. Looking forward to returning in October.

We have just enjoyed a lovely weeks stay at Crabapple cottage and would really recommend this cottage to anyone.. From opening the front door and being greeted with the lovely welcome table of goodies and exploring the area to snuggling away during the bad weather with a blazing log fire. We both feel we have had a most welcome break.

We would like to thank Mark and Brigitte for the wonderful holiday we have had in their beautiful cottage.. Crabapple Cottage is quaint, cosy and peaceful. The owners have taken a lot of care and consideration into making their cottage really welcoming and homely. The furnishings are to a very high standard and were greatly appreciated. The cottage has a lovely garden with a fabulous long lawn which our dog enjoyed and so did we, it is a suntrap. You are greeted upon opening the door with welcome goodies, thank you. Our only suggestion would be the parking space is only suitable for a small to medium car as you have to navigate all the other cars around it to reverse out. There is parking on the high street as an alternative. We feel the accommodation was equivalent to a 5 star hotel with all the little touches that the owners provided.

The location was ideal.. Local village with 2 pubs, butchers and chip shop. Two beaches on your door step and the moors close by. The cottage itself was wonderful and had all amenities you’d want including a lovely long back garden. A smashing welcome package left from the owners that was a great start to your holiday experience.

Very cosy and beautiful cottage.. Owners had gone out of their way to decorate with Christmas decorations and provide extras of Christmas cake, eggs, jams etc. - not to forget treats for the dog!! Great walks from the cottage to Cleveland Way and down to Runswick Bay - a gorgeous sandy beach and cliff hanging village. Butcher/store, fish and chip shop and two pubs just few yards from house. Our only problem was the parking - very very tight especially with a large car.

Great Cottage - we have been to Hinderwell for many years in various cottages this is one of the best. We arrived and parked in the designated place opened the door and wow what a nice welcome. The table was set with welcoming items, bread, Botham's cake, jams, eggs, dog treats to name but a few, plus milk in the fridge. The lovely garden was neatly mowed and contained tables, chairs, barbecue and lots of dog toys. The cottage is modern and very clean with excellent bedding and towels supplied. The situation is also very good between two pubs both dog friendly with decent food. Fish & chip shop across the road and also a good butchers/general store where you can get your daily paper. Nearby Runswick bay has a great beach and is great for walks. Near to Whitby & Middlesbrough and many other nice places, we walked down to Boggle Hole and enjoyed the super coffee shop at the Youth Hostel. We are booking again very soon.

This is a super cottage, clean and welcoming.. We parked our car in the allocated place directly in front of the cottage, opened the door and wow what a welcome! lovely tidy place with a super welcome pack on the table - eggs, jam's, bread, cakes, milk to name a few. We have visited Hinderwell on many occasions in different cottages this was the best. Nice lounge, modern well equipped kitchen, nice bathroom and bedrooms, good quality bedding and towels. Good situation between the 2 pubs (both take dogs) Good butchers/general store and a great walk down to Runswick bay. Would recommend this cottage to anybody.

Crabapple Cottage is beautiful Cottage with a wonderful garden.. The kitchen and Bathroom were modern and the bedrooms were very nice indeed. It is very clean and tidy and soon felt like home. Brigette and Mark had left us with eggs, bread, milk, coffee, tea which was wonderful, as it meant we didn't have to go shopping when we arrived. The location of the cottage is brilliant. The picturesque fishing village of Staithes with its dog friendly beach is only five minutes one way, while Whitby is ten minutes the other. I would definitely go back and will recommend Crabapple Cottage t family and friends.
