We had a perfect autumn stay in this very secluded and quiet cottage We had a great mixture of chilling at the cottage - lots of hot-tubbing, walking along the tracks straight from the front door - had a perfect misty autumn sunrise, lovely rainbow in the valley and enjoyed a circular walk over the bridge, up to the road, along the road to the entrance of the lane leading to the cottage and then enjoyed the walk (rather than drive) along the lane - it is a very long but beautiful single track lane Also ventured further afield, Lakes distillery, Ravenglass steam train trip, motor boats on Coniston, fish and chips on harbour at Whitehaven. Enjoyed local food, simply the best pies ever at Yewdale Inn, Coniston and delicious seafood meal at Hooked, Windermere We had the log burner on but a shame it was so mild for end October - never got to wear our jumpers!

Amazing. Perfect holiday home in amazing location. This is a beautiful barn conversion on a small farm within a stunning, secluded valley. We loved every minute and didn't want to leave.

We had an extremely relaxing, quiet 4 night stay here in early Sept.. Mum dad and me with the labrador. We loved the walks straight from the cottage and the hot tub was amazing. What a perfect location for it - views of the hills all around. You cant predict the weather but the cottage was great. I would have liked updated washing machine and dishwasher as they were a little tired and no instructions so you had to guess what programme to put them on. Sky TV was great and the new addition of wifi was unexpected but much needed as you can then sit at home and plan your day. We did Blencathra and the local Coniston water lake walk. We also went to Stavelely and visited the artisan bakery, amazing Wheelbase bike shop and Hawkshead brewery. We tried the local pub the Wilsons Arms and had fish and chips outside in the garden with the dog. Would have stayed much longer had it not been for my work. I'd go again in a heartbeat.

We had a great time in Cumbria.. Copper Beech cottage was an excellent place to stay with fantastic views and great walking from the door. There was everything we needed in the cottage and the owner was so friendly and helpful. It was wonderful to relax in the hot tub in the evenings after a days hiking. Recommend the local pub and deli in Torver - really tasty food.

Lovely cottage in a fantastic, quiet location.. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Lovely touches like bathrobes and plenty of towels in each bathroom and woodburner laid ready to light (although we didn't need it as the weather was very warm and quite dry for the Lake District!). Hot tub was perfectly situated with spectacular views of the fells and night sky.

Great cottage in a peaceful and idyllic location.. Ideal for unwinding and as a base for walking and sight seeing. Very comfortable, well equipped, friendly hosts and some welcome extra touches (eg. dressing gowns, coffee machine pods). It would be harder to get a better view from the hot tub!

The cottage is in a perfect location, secluded enough to enjoy a break away from everything but close enough to Coniston to drive to for exploring the mountains and Lakes in the surrounding area.. The owners of the property were very helpful and friendly and gave us some advice on some local walks. The hot tub was just the icing on the cake for aching muscles after days out exploring. Would definitely recommend and would love to return.

Great location if you want to do walking, water sports, cycling or if you just want peace and quiet.. A great variety of places to visit around the area.

We found the cottage comfortable and clean except for a couple of of oven/roasting trays which had been put away without cleaning.. There were ony four bowls which for a cottage sleeping 4 meant constant washing up, even between meals! The towel rails in the ensuites didn't seem to heat up sufficiently even though the rest of the house was very warm, meaning it felt rather damp in bathrooms most of the time, a shower scraper would be helpful in here too. There were no instuctions for cooker, coffee maker, TV or dishwasher. Cottage location was lovely and peaceful.

A perfect cottage in the heart of the Lake District. Everything you could possibly want under one roof. The owners had thought of everything. A lovely hot tub with a view for relaxing in after a long day walking/cycling. Would highly recommend for anyone wishing to escape to the Lake District. We will be returning!

Great place to stay - very much off the beaten track which is what we expected/wanted.. The hosts were very welcoming and everything was clean and very well thought out. Even the log burner was all set up and ready to be lit. My only minor criticism would be to get a better DVD player. The pictures of the place do not do it justice - such a lovely place!!

We loved the remoteness of the place and the absence of wifi and mobile signal! Our 10 year old son loved tge fact that within a couple of minutes walk he could get to an area where he could scramble over rocks. He loved it! Thank you very much

We had a great time here! We planned to use the hot tub, but then didn't as we were too busy! There is plenty of space near the cottage for dog walking. If I'd had more time I would have worked out a route from the cottage to Coniston and back again. The log burner is great and heats the cottage nicely (our dog loved it). There is plenty of parking space too. We struggled with the electric cooker at the cottage, but that was mostly because we've only ever used gas and didn't manage the heat properly. I think a few other people have mentioned the lack of Internet connectivity as a problem. It mostly makes planning your days out a bit harder as you need either an abundance of written material or you need to plan in advance. More local information in the cottage would be great. There do appear to be phone sockets in the cottage, so maybe the lack of connectivity is either a choice or the cottage is too far from the local exchange for ADSL. My recommendation to others is to go down to one of the local pubs and do your planning there. It's not as good as the comfort as the cottage, but it's okay. Overall, a great short break!

Cottage was lovely, well equipped, great views.. Hot tub was excellent. The 2 mile single track road to the farm is very narrow, with very few passing places- it wouldn’t be suitable for nervous drivers.

This cottage is of a very high quality, ensuites and bedrooms are luxurious and the cottage is very comfortable and well equipped.. The owners are very welcoming and just around the corner if you need anything. The private area with hot tub is just exceptional, you are not overlooked by the main house or the other holiday cottage and the views are breathtaking. The walks from the cottage across the farmland and common are just spectacular. We had fantastic weather but the cottage is so well heated that even in cold weather you will be cosy and comfortable. I highly recommend this for people who really like to get away from it all and enjoy secluded accommodation as well as peace and quiet.

Had a great time here - the cottage was comfortable and homely. It was very secluded - 2 miles up a single track road. The views were amazing and we went for some lovely walks. We were lucky with the weather - it was warm and sunny. The hot tub was a bonus - just what you need after a day walking. A big plus for us was that there was no service available on the mobiles - peace and quiet at last! Would def go again :)

The cottage was lovely and can not complain about anything! The owners were there if needed but just left us to our own devices after they introduced themselves, which was good. The location was beautiful although was a long walk to the main road and the local, ideal for anyone wanting peace and quiet. No complaints at all!

The views from the property and especially the hot tub were absolutely stunning! There were 360 degree views from all around the property. The upside down layout is excellent, especially with the triple aspect views. The cottage is fully equipped with everything a holiday maker could require, and the furnishings and equipment are to a high standard. A very enjoyable, comfortable holiday.

A fabulous week over Christmas spent at Copper Beech Cottage. The Cottage was festively decorated for our arrival. It was an extra special treat to be able to give the newly installed hot tub a try under the stars on Christmas night to soak away the aches and pains after tackling nearby Coniston Old Man. The Cottage really was everything we had hoped for.

The cottage is very quiet and surrounded by hills with easy access to hundreds of walks at all levels. The hot tub is in a fabulous location overlooking the hills. Our dogs were made very welcome. We walked, mountain biked in the Grizedale Forest, and visited Ambleside town, only 30 mins drive. Wonderful cafés and gear shops. More mountain biking and walks alongside lakes a few minutes from the town. The owners are very lovely people, and were, friendly, helpful and kind. We shall be back without a doubt.

Copper beech cottage is exactly as described, the cottage is down the end of a track that is only used by the farm behind. The views from the upstairs living area are lovely looking over the farm land. It is well situated for travelling around the lakes and there is a lovely pub in torver if you don't fancy cooking. The kitchen is well equipped and everything was lovely and clean. We have and will recommend to our friends.
