The town's history has been traced back to the 12th century and can be further investigated in the Hawick Museum and Scott Gallery. Many shops boast a fine selection of knitwear for which the town is internationally famous for, so there's lots of opportunities for buying souvenirs that will keep you warm. Host to shops, pubs and restaurants too, Hawick is a delightful town.
