In terms of interior, it doesn’t get much more Parisian than this. The floor to ceiling bookshelves whisper of poets and authors, and antique velvet chairs look like they’re straight out of the 18th century. The living room is crowned with a gilded mirror and livened up with ferns and pot plants. A wall of windows lets the natural light stream in and glass doors lead to a private balcony overlooking the residential area. The neighbourhood is blissfully quiet, set back from the city centre yet just a twenty-minute stroll to the Eiffel Tower. If you fancy a bit more tranquillity to your city break, the sprawling parklands (once a royal hunting ground) of Bois de Boulogne is a fifteen-minute walk.
Home truths: * Some furniture and some equipment is a little worse for wear
* The home is situated in the south of the 16th arrondissement, which is a residential area that's far from the main attractions – there's is still transport connections to the centre though
* There is no air conditioning throughout the home so it will get hot during the summer months
