The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

Loved our stay at CnocMor (pet friendly) cottage.. This place was finished in keeping with the original olde worlde original style. It was cosey, comfy & had everything we needed for ourselves & much loved hound. Hosts Pat & Mary were very helpful without being too intrusive. Pat had a tremendous wealth of knowledge about the locality & we loved the Nevins Pub close by. We will be back!

From the outside an attractive cottage in a stunning secluded location.. Inside the cottage decor was haphazard and dated although there was everything needed supplied. The stove had a hole in the glass plugged with tinfoil. The bedding was old and the pillows were thin and lumpy. Overall the cleanliness of the cottage was poor by any standards and certainly not acceptable during covid pandemic. There was used bars of soap in bathroom and cloakroom and previous guests wash scrunchies left on the bath. Surfaces were dusty and obviously not cleaned and sanitized before our arrival. The owner was very friendly and came down shortly after we arrived unfortunately he persisted in coming to the property almost every day during our stay to potter around the garden and completely ruin our peaceful break.

The first impression on arriving at Cnocmor cottage is that the photos cannot do it justice.. A cosy cottage tucked into the side of the hill surrounded by garden and orchard looking out on a spectacular view of mountain and sky. While retaining the feel of an old world home, this simple cottage is snug and convenient. Perfectly located for cycling and hill walking. In the evening we lit the wood stove or walked down to nearby Nevins for a drink. We greatly enjoyed meeting the owners, who were very welcoming and responsive. We will be back!

We loved the little cottage.. It was a bit harder to find than we expected, I could simplify the directions a bit more. The hosts were absolutely lovely and so welcoming. Especially Mary the lady who was born in the very house we stayed in. As Catholics we loved the font by the door and the picture of Jesus in the kitchen. I've been to Achill many many times, and as usual had a lovely time. The cottage was spotless and beautiful. I think we will definitely stay again when we are back down. Many thanks for such a lovely stay.

The location of the cottage is fantastic, you can see the greenway from the hall door and it is less then a 5 minute walk away. The two private gardens were perfect for the dogs. I have spent many holiday's in Mayo and would have no hesitation booking this cottage again .

The cottage was perfect, the weather was perfect, the people were perfect. Everything we've come to expect from Mayo and more. The cottage was lovely, clean and well furnished, the beds were so comfy and the rooms were all a good size. The location had beautiful views and was well maintained. We had lovely weather and there's loads to do in the area so while we weren't there as much as we would have liked we were happy to spend evening in as well as out sampling the local hospitality. We will be booking again soon.
