This is a large comfortable house just off the main street of Wooler.. Facilities inside are excellent. The town itself lacks a really decent pub and there is only the one restaurant to eat at, The Milan, which features mainly Italian food.

We had a fantastic family holiday at Cheviot Hills.. We were a party of 7, with 5 adults and 2 children, and we found the house really spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms are nicely spaced out and we each had our own bathroom which allowed us to have our own space. The sitting room, dining room and terrace provided lovely spacious areas to all be together. We were delighted with the lovely, thoughtful welcome pack and flowers. The house is in a great quiet location while being really accessible to a little street of interesting shops. The house is also a great base for exploring in every direction; to the beautiful coast, over the border to Scotland, and the picturesque surrounding countryside. Thanks for a great holiday house, we had a very enjoyable and memorable family holiday and we'd love to visit again some time.

Rachael and Neil were extremely welcoming and everything about the house was excellent.. They had installed a Xmas tree and left a great welcome pack that exceeded expectations. The house is only 2 minutes walk from a good pub and Milan Italian restaurant where we enjoyed a lovely meal served by very friendly and attentive staff on Xmas Eve. The only slight downside was that Rachael and Neil had been having problems getting a fault with their boiler repaired and the water could only be heated by the log burner. This just meant that the water for the showers wasn't just as hot as it might have been but was still perfectly acceptable and didn't detract in any way from our enjoyment of the house itself. They also supplied us with extra logs so we could keep the log fire going and Rachael has since told me that the plumber was going in with the required part yesterday so there should be no recurrence of the problem. All in all an excellent experience that we're very likely to repeat.

There was no hot water We had a severely autistic gentleman with us who had to have a luke warm bath and could not understand why his bath was cold.. we also had a 70yr old lady with us who had to have cold showers. This is not acceptable and as we are responsible for their care ,this is an issue that needs addressing. This issue has been raised in previous reviews so I cannot understand why nothing has been done about the water temperature. I look forward to your response on this issue. Regards Wendy Hutchinson Registered nurse

The house we stayed in was beyond our expectations.. It was warm, (November) comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The quality of the furnishings was much better than is usual for a holiday cottage. The welcome pack was much appreciated.

The sitting room was very comfortable and the facilities in the kitchen were excellent.. The WiFi and home entertainment were first class and the rear terrace was a nice feature. However, the temperature of the hot water was not very hot and this led to the showers being just about warm enough on max setting. I think one of the big drawbacks to a property of this size is the single parking place, particularly as the road has double yellows on the side of the property & the other side of the road was pretty full. Overall, we did enjoy our stay at Cheviot Hills. Thank you

Just back from a wonderful weekend away at this beautiful cottage.. The pictures really don’t do it justice as it was so much more luxurious and comfortable than we were expecting. We really liked the arrangement of the “upside down” house which meant that with the stair gates our toddler could roam freely upstairs without us being concerned that he could hurt himself. It also meant it was very quiet in the bedrooms at night so the adults could enjoy themselves without worrying about waking the kids. The welcome package of fresh bread, cake, eggs etc was also unexpected and a delightful surprise. Would thoroughly recommend this property and will no doubt be back.

We had a lovely time in Cheviot Hills.. The accommodation was very spacious and clean, very well equipped. Beds were really comfortable. It's a great base for exploring Northumberland. Would recommend the Italian restaurant, Milan in Wooler, food and service is spot on ( booking is required). Also The Anchor pub does a wonderful Sunday lunch (again, booking is recommended). Holy Island is definitely worth a visit too.

Tastefully decorated accommodation, spacious lounge with ample comfortable seating for all our party of eight.. No problem parking, one car at side of cottage and one on street opposite. Very generous welcome pack, thank you very much it was much appreciated. Well situated as a base for exploring the stunning scenery of Northumberland, a perfect setting for celebrating my birthday and our anniversary. Dined at the Milan restaurant which is only a very short walk away, highly recommended. It is a popular restaurant we suggest booking early.
