Your booking system was easy and the cottage was warm and comfortable, the owners, at the farm, were extremely accomodating and told us where to go, for picturesque walks, especially 'That footpath' heading up, the side of the Dale, to the 'Blue Bell Inn' also the circular walk along the River Derwent and back down the lane from 'Black Brook', was helpful during this time of semi isolation.. One little tiny thing that may have been usefull is a 'House book' giving details - locations of Doctors - Dentist - Vets - local take aways etc.

We spent a wonderfully relaxing week at the cottage which was very warm, cosy and comfortable.. Lots of walks for the dog and many places of interest to visit. Jean, the owner, was very welcoming and we felt very much at home.

A welcome pack would have been nice.. Ie milk, tea bags etc, just so that we could of at least made a drink after a long journey. We had to literally unpack the car and go in search of the nearest supermarket. Not a good experience when it's its dark and you arn t familer with the area.

Just what we expected, a cottage in the countryside on a farm, a fabulous outlook, a very pretty garden, no neighbours apart from the cows, however the owners were not far away if needed.. Mrs Jordan is very welcoming and friendly. Not far to the local amenities, more or less on doorstep, a short 10 minute,if that, drive to Belper which can be seen from the cottage. There are steps throughout the cottage, which made it very quirky, even a small step down into the master bedroom. Although some of the decor is tired, we had a lovely stay, and it was a good central point to visit local attractions. The track up to the cottage is steep, however, we had a small car and had no trouble at all. Walking the short distance from the car to the front door is also steep (but well maintained), we were fine, but some might find it difficult to carry anything heavy. Please don’t let that put you off, it is very minor indeed and really, the photo of the cottage does show this.

Chevinside cottage is absolutely beautiful if you want to get away from it all.. The owner is very friendly and helpful. My mother in law and I stayed there this weekend and had a brilliant time. The farm animals were great to watch, the weather was brilliant (which helps but can't be relied upon). I imagine it would be equally beautiful covered in snow. There is a Morrisons within walking distance (quite a good walk, not a few minutes). If you've got a car you can visit many of the surrounding areas but if you're without a car you're pretty stuck but that is exactly what we wanted. We couldn't fault it, absolutely beautiful. We would love to go again.

Beautiful location but is on a farm so have to expect animal noises and smells which we were fine with.. Interior of cottage tired but comfortable and this I think is reflected in the price . We had a lovely short break and would rebook this property

The cottage is in an idyllic place on the side of a hill in the middle of farmland.. . The view from every window is lovely, sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. You do need good walking boots though but we are used to that having two dogs. The track up to the cottage is quite steep and a litle bumpy but worth it. Mrs Jorden is very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The eggs were great too.

We had a wonderful time in our holiday cottage .. The setting was beautiful. The cottage was fully equipped with everything . Plenty of logs left for the fire . A 5 minute drive to all the shops, cafes and supermarkets. Lots of lovely country walks withing 5 minutes walk from the cottage yet you felt very rural it was perfect for us. The owners were lovely and very helpful. We even had a tour of their farm and saw some baby lambs and calfs . We will definitely book this cottage again

Myself my husband and our 3 year old stayed for a week. The owners are lovely and let us see her newly born calf the cows are in the field right by the house my son loved looking at them. There's loads to visit with in about an hour's drive it's perfectly situated on a hillside with the town a short distance away. We loved it and will definitely be back.

It would have been helpful for the description included reference to low door ways, internel steps and uneven floors.. The owners were very helpful and brought extra coal when we ran out.

This is a lovely little cottage set in the hills next to the farmers field, we absolutely loved it here away from the town, its such a peaceful and quiet area but not too far from the town and surrounding areas to explore. The owner was very friendly and offered advice on where to visit in the area. Property had all the facilities needed was just home from home will definitely return to this little gem. My son liked the layout of the property and how close the cows where, we could watch the cows in the field for ages.

My 80 year old Mum I had a wonderful week at Chevinside. The cottage is warm, cosy, comfortable, well equipped and in an ideal location to access the many attractions that Derbyshire has to offer. Next time we have a break in Derbyshire, we've already decided to return to the same cottage. Thank you to our hosts for making us so welcome comfortable.

This is a lovely cottage in Belper, yet still very close to town. It makes a good base for visiting the attractions of Derbyshire. The owner is friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this property for families and small groups, it is an excellent family getaway. The open fire made the cottage very cosy.
