Had a lovely week in this charming & spacious property.. Ideally positioned for the town & it's pubs & facilities. Lovely walks by the river from the door & just around the corner from fabulous scenery & Hadrian's wall. We felt at home from the start & the owners Nick & Netty were at hand next door if you needed anything. Great welcome pack of essentials waiting for us too. We would definitely return to this lovely cottage.

What a lovely cottage! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Nick and Annette are great hosts and have a wealth of knowledge about the area. We very much appreciated our welcoming pack which included everything to make a hot drink etc and oh those wonderful scones! What more can I say, Great Place and Great People! Thank you so much.

Chare Cottage is a great place to stay and brilliant location to explore from.. The cottage was extremely comfortable and our host Netty had ensured that everything was provided for that first arrival including milk, coffee, tea, biscuits, shower gel, shampoo and we luckily got homemade sconces. The owners are there if you need them or not if you are busy like we where. Managed to explore Northumberland, Cumbria, The Lakes and Scotland returning to friendly pubs in Haltwhistle. Would we go again YES.

The cottage is wonderfully spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with lots of character, and the owners made us feel very welcome.. It's an ideal location for exploring the area - we don't have a car & this cottage has excellent walks from the front door, as well as being very convenient for public transport. The only thing I'd suggest is correcting the online listing to say that the cottage does have WiFi!

Your failure to provide a refund in April (when we had originally booked this cottage) will mean that we will be unlikely to use you again.. This is a shocking way to treat customers (irrespective of the legalities). Other travel companies offered flexibility, free changes, vouchers or a refund.

Chare Close cottage is lovely, very spacious and comfortable.. Its location on the edge of the town is ideal, quiet but close to amenities. We had a problem with the tv, which was dealt with promptly by the owners. The cottage has many walks from the door. We had a relaxing holiday here, despite the mixed weather!

The advert stated that there was no wifi and there was, which of course was great but I would hate to think you lost any bookings due to this mis information.. It really was the perfect cottage, just out of town and nice and quiet whilst being within walking distance of all the facilities. Add on a good parking space, washer/dryer, towels and a comfy bed, it made a fantastic base for our holiday. Also it was very close to Hadrian's Wall and it's lovely walking whilst being a lovely, scenic drive over to Kielder Water for a bit of cycling - a bit of advice, hire an electric bike at Kielder, you will have an amazing day out. You can publish any or all of the above with my pleasure and thank you for a great holiday home.

We loved the cottage and thought that the photos online did not give it justice, as it was a lot roomier and brighter than expected.. Sykes gave us detailed information regarding payment and our stay and the hosts of the cottage were great in terms of the detailed information they gave us prior to our stay and the little touches on arrival, such as milk and biscuits, toiletries, Would definitely recommend and stay again, as it all felt relaxed and in a great area to explore.

On arrival at Chare Cottage we were met by Netty who made us feel at home from the start with a full explanation of all the necessary information with regards to the cottage and also an idea of the surrounding places of interest.. We could not have asked for better hosts and would recommend this holiday let to anyone looking for a lovely , clean , quirky cottage for exploring this part of Northumberland. We both enjoy holiday cottages and one of the most important aspects we look for when we stay at a cottage is...the feeling of being 'welcomed' to a cottage. Chare Close Cottage owners made us feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble. What impressed us were the small touches ie tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, scones, butter and jam. Some might say so what, but these additions made us feel welcome, and it made all the difference to us. A lot of cottage owners leave nothing, this act makes us feel unwelcome regardless of the accomadation! So our stay is coloured by the lack of welcome. Chare Close was a wonderful stay helped by good weather, and we will go back.
