The cottage is fairly clean - however, the property is tired and run down and in need of some serious TLC.. The photographs of the property are very misleading! The beds are adequate but the bedroom curtains are very thin, so lie-in's are unlikely. The sitting room doesn't have enough seating for the number of people that the house will hold, and the cellar 'games room' is cold, unwelcoming and smells VERY strongly of damp. We spent most of our time sitting around the dining table. The kitchen appears to be well equipped, until you go to look for a small bowl to make scrambled eggs in or a small jug - there are a great many missing essentials ...... There is, however, ample crockery, cutlery and glasses.
The hot tub is great - a pergola has been erected since the publicity pix were taken, which is OK, but the rest of the courtyard!! Where to start? A rickety picnic table, long past it's best, broken concrete underfoot with weeds growing through the concrete. A few sad, random plants, badly pruned ...... Not a 'courtyard garden', more a badly maintained backyard.
Having said all that, the location is perfect! Within a 30 second stroll of the front door, there are pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops - and, of course, the Castle. Maybe the hire charges are a bit high for the condition of the property?
