Lovely little cottage, everything you need, very generous welcome pack of food and very helpful and friendly hosts. A 5 minute downhill walk takes you to the beach (a ten minute uphill walk back). The beach is lovely, small sandy and sheltered, plenty of rock pools to explore, a little shop selling all you need for the beach. A choice of supermarkets are under 2 miles away.

As we are an elderly couple we liked the quiet setting in a very small village. The nearby beach is very pretty and other beaches near are very nice. The couple who own the property are very friendly.

The owners were extremely friendly and welcoming. They supplied a very comprehensive welcome pack and I would definitely like to stay there again. We would also recommend the cottage to friends. The cottage is extremely well-situated to make visiting many interesting places very easy and we found some good restaurants in the area.

A lovely welcome from the owners and a welcome pack too! The cottage is just so nice and compact. It has a beautifully sunny kitchen, and there is everything you could want there. The owners were there to answer any questions we had. They are really lovely, and helpful, without being intrusive. The cottage is ideally situated, nice and central to make visiting places like Helligan, and the Eden Project, and the lovely local harbours so easy.

The homeliness of the property and the warm welcome from the owners, who live in the adjoining house. The location was excellent for walking on the coast path and visiting Helligan and the Eden Project, activities that were the reason for choosing Casa Mia.

The owners were absolute gems. We received a superb welcome pack and they were on hand to give any information regarding where to go and what to do. The position of the cottage was excellent, on a hill and with sea views from the garden and kitchen. The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan were very close. It was in a perfect situation for exploring Cornwall.

Casa Mia is a lovely place to stay - when you are in the garden it has beautiful views over Porthpean beach and further enough away to be quiet and relaxing. The cottage is very comfortable and the kitchen is wonderfully light and well equipped. The owners who live next door are very welcoming as is the welcome pack that Janet is renowned for. Highly recommended.

Lovely homey cottage in a first-rate location, close to supermarkets, attractions, a selection of delightful harbour towns/villages, and of course the great view of the bay. A fine beach only hailing distance from the door. Owners were kind, friendly, helpful, and solicitous without being intrusive. Many thanks for an enjoyable, hassle-free holiday.

The owners of the cottage live next door and were very friendly and extremely helpful. On our arrival,we found the cottage well-stocked with provisions (tea, coffee, bread, cereals etc.)The cottage has plenty of car parking space and a really good LCD television set with a DVD library. The only difficulty we had was in finding the cottage as the instructions we were given are rather 'sketchy'. We thought these should be rather more detailed. The cottage is conveniently located reasonably close to the town centre and roads to the major holiday centres.A large asda supermarket is also very accesible. Although the weather was a bit mixed,we really enjoyed our stay and had plenty of time to enjoy the facilities of the cottage, particularly the garden where we had quite a few picnics. The service we received from the Syke's management when booking the holiday was excellent-friendly and efficient.

I stayed here in August 2011 and had a wonderful week. The cottage is comfortable, if a little old fashioned in terms of furniture, but is spacious and has everything you need for your holiday. But the thing that makes it special is the real welcome you get from Janet and Reg, the owners, who live next door. They are really friendly and even their little dog wants to say hello. There's a welcome pack of groceries to greet you and you're given free run of the garden, which is a truly lovely place to sit on a sunny evening with a glass of pear cider looking over the village rooftops to the sea. Porthpean is a tiny village with no amenities but St Austell is 5mins down the road with everything you need. And what you get in compensation is true peace and quiet, and just a short drive from everywhere that you could want to visit; The Eden Project, Lanhydrock, Polperro, Fowey etc. I recommend Lanhydrock in particular. It's stunning, even on a rainy day! Porthpean beach is down quite a steep hill so getting back to the cottage will test your leg muscles and lungs. But it's worth it as the beach is very secluded so it's a nice place to walk down to in the evening. And by the end of the week you'll be striding back up that hill! You can go down by car if you want but the road is very narrow. So if you want a holiday with total peace and relaxation but within striking distance of lots of resorts and attractions I really recommend you give this place a try.

A lovely clean comfortable cottage, with everything we needed. The owners live next door and were very friendly and helpful. Would definately stay there again and have told all my friends about it. How can you beat a sea view from the garden while sipping a cold drink or your morning coffee.

My husband and I had a fantastic welcome by the owners. All the basics ie coffee, sugar, teabags, eggs, milk etc were provided for us as a welcome pack. The local beach is wonderful. Casa Mia is a lovely cottage and we are going back again later this year.
