Situated in an isolated position, 7.5 miles from Glenties town in County Donegal is this all ground floor cottage. This cottage sleeps five people and has two bedrooms consisting of one double with woodburning stove and one twin with additional single sofa bed, as well as a family shower room. The rest of the cottage is made up of a fitted kitchen with dining area and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside, this cottage has off road parking for 2 cars and a rear lawned garden. If you want to get away from the hectic everyday life, then this cottage is for you.

Area
Glenties is a small town in County Donegal offering shops and pubs. Close by is the Owenea and Stranaglough rivers, which are known for their salmon fishing and good walking can be enjoyed in the Bluestack Mountains and Bluestack Way. Glenties is an ideal base perfect for exploring the delightful Donegal countryside.

The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

Note: The road from the R262 to the property is not suitable for low vehicles, i.e. sports cars. Note: This property is in the middle of the owner's sheep grazing field, so pets must be kept under control at all times. Note:As the property is remote the Wifi can be intermittent and limited.

Paddy was a great host.. I really enjoy my holiday here with the dog, weather was pretty good and lots of places to explore. Cottage was lovely, warm and cosy and everything you need. Unfortunately I had to cut my holiday short as I needed to see my dentist as had an abscess on my gum. Will definitely be back. Thanks Paddy!

This cottage is a wonderful place, far away from everything else, to relax ! Yet, it is near enough for all activities like hiking and sightseeing in the area of western Donegal. It is well equipped, with everything you need. Everything was clean, functional and we had also the possibility to have a good internet access after contacting the owner. The Owner, Paddy, is a very friendly host, who really takes care of you and your needs, without beeing obtrusive in any way! We had a lot of very interesting talks with him, and he can be very proud of this place he has so wonderfully rebuild and renovated. We heartily recommend this cottage and will definitely return some day. Monika und Matthias

Die Woche in diesem Cottage war wirklich wunderschön und sehr erholsam. Es ist das einzige bewohnte Haus im Umkreis von einigen Kilometern und liegt wunderschön, mit Schafen als einzige Nachbarn. Als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und Ausflüge ideal, sind es dennoch nur wenige Kilometer zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten des westlichen Donegal. Die Ausstattung des Cottage ist sehr gut, alles ist sauber und funktionsfähig und hervorragend renoviert, obwohl das cottage schon sehr alt ist. Es ist geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet und die Aussicht ist hervorragend. Wir hatten sogar, nach Rücksprache mit unserem Vermieter, sehr gut funktionierndes Internet, für das wir einen kleinen flatrate-Aufpreis bezahlt hatten. Der Vermieter, Paddy, wohnt knapp 20 km entfernt und ist wirklich ein außerordentlich netter und engagierter Gastgeber, mit dem wir viele sehr gute Gespräche hatten. Man merkt, dass dieses Cottage, welches übrigens sein Elternhaus ist, eine echte " labor of love" ist! Absolut empfehlenswert! Wir werden ganz sicher einmal wieder zu Paddy und dem wunderschönen Carnaween View zurückkehren! Monika und Matthias

This is a delightful cottage particularly if you want to get away from everything and wake up to the sound of nothing but the brook behind the house the wind and a few sheep. It has stunning views to the horizon. At night there is no light pollution except the stars! Owner Paddy could not have been more helpful and the stove made the place cozy. The nearest village is a short drive away as are the beaches and scenery a plenty. Came back refreshed and sorry to leave.

What a pearl. It would be hard to find another place like this. Totally away from civilazation, not a neighbor in sight. Beautiful surroundings and just a perfect place to get away from it all. Cant wait to go back and make friends with all the sheep grazing around

Great location! Only neighbours were sheep. Great place to relax. Open fires were great. Has all the facilities you need. Close enough to visit attractions and local shop not too far away. Paddy was very friendly. Would definately visit again.

We loved the location as it was surprisingly close to Donegal town and Portnoo Beach. The house was perfect, a great size and beautifully restored with all mod cons. The surroundings were beautiful and the only noise were the sheep. We hope to return to this lovely house and would highly recommend it.

This is a simple cottage in a very remote area. It was very cosy and there was plenty of fuel available for the stove. We had dogs with us and the cottage was perfect! The views were wonderful and the only neighbours were the sheep.
