Very well equipped cottage and super dog friendly location, with a very secure back garden area and lovely walks from the door step. The hot tub was a great way to relax even when it rained,

This Cottage was absolutely brilliant.. It was everything we expected and more. It was everything we could have wanted for our visit for our parents 70th Birthdays. The owners were also very accommodating and even provided a brand new high chair as we had a little one with us. We shall defiantly return. Highly Recommended. The Disson Family

The holiday was lovely and the owners were very friendly and welcoming.. Due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control we did have some issues either the plumbing due to the septic tank which was quickly sorted. A dryer would have been beneficial due to 8 people trying to get washing dry. Free eggs were amazing thank you so much and my granddaughters loved the hot tub Beaches, gin tasting and amazing seafood

A great base for exploring West Wales - friendly, accommodating owners too.. Eight family members and one dog very much enjoyed our stay in this clean and spacious accommodation. There were three good sized double bedrooms with spacious ensuite bathroom facilities and a compact twin room, but plenty of room on the landing for storage of cases etc. The owners were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, attending to a minor maintenance issue immediately. In a tranquil inland setting the cottage is ideally placed for visiting coastal towns and there are walks from the doorstep for canine friends. The owners dogs, Archie and Barkus were very friendly - eager to meet and greet. Lovely organic farm nearby for vegetables and, if in Lampeter, there's also a great store there that does all manner of gourmet and everyday produce and lovely bread - Watson and Pratts and Lampeter Bakehouse. Anyone looking for Welsh quilts and blankets might like to check out the array of vintage stock at Jen Jones (Llanbydder). New Quay offers paddle boarding, kayaking and dolphin watch boat tours (we were lucky enough to see them in the bay from the harbour side). Llangrannog (down steep twisitng lanes) also seems to offer surfing and surf kayaking - when the weather permits (maybe not during storm Francis which made it's presence felt during our stay) - and there is RNLI cover too. Thanks to Ray and Dawn for a great stay.

The hosts Dawn and Ray are lovely people, extremely friendly and helped us to choose a lovely place for lunch.. The facilities were wonderful and the hot tube really relaxed us all. The 2 lakes which you could walk to and take in the country air were a lovely surprise and the fresh eggs from their chickens were very tasty. If I ever wanted to do a group booking in future, we would definitely go back to the lovely cariad cottage.

Great cottage and owners were lovely.. However it said it sleeps 11 which is a bit of an push! It comfortably sleeps 8 with one main bathroom and two en suites. 11 people is massive squeeze consider seeing there is no place to put an extra sofa bed/single bed apart from the living room or landing area. The house itself was great and the hot tub was brilliant. Only recommendation would be for the hot tub or outside area to have some sort of cover and somewhere to put towels on a rainy day! Also the oven barely cooked any food so cooking for 10 people took forever - with a waiting time for a pizza of an hour! Needs a bigger oven and fridge to accommodate larger numbers of people. Rooms could do with a refresh - especially the beds and mattresses, which were creaky and lumpy! However we had a really good stay and the owners and the area was lovely! Just a few modifications and the stay would have been perfect. Need to advertise this as an 8 person house with the option of 2 spare beds. Don’t turn up with couples and expect them to sleep on the landing or in someone else’s room!

Excellent family holiday cottage with plenty of things to do within very shirt drive from Dolphin spotting, crabbing to coastal walks & BBQ on the beach.. With very friendly owners, Ray/Dawn, near by for any questions about “what to do?” Supply of fresh eggs from the free roaming chickens every morning & massive hot-tub to relax after a heavy days activity Go.. Relax & enjoy yourself!

Our stay at Cariad cottage was just perfect! The cottage itself is beautiful and no detail has been missed. The surrounding area is beautiful. The park on site and the animals was perfect as it kept the children happy! And the adults! We had the perfect family holiday and would 100% go back, and will be!

The cottage was beautiful and so relaxing.. We was in the hot tub every night and the location was perfect for venturing out with the children and dog. Owner were so accommodating and friendly they really helped us feel at home and get the most from our stay. We wasn’t bored once while here because there is so much to do for everyone, it’s excellent..

The cottage was well equipped for large groups especially the kitchen.. All furniture was comfortable and I felt completely able to relax in such surroundings. The hot tub was wonderful to this 51 year old granny and 57 year grandad as we have never been in one before. The rest of the family also enjoyed it too. The on-site owners were helpful and provided a supply of eggs from their chickens and also had use of their back garden playground area for our 2 year old grand daughter. Obviously the wonderful Easter Bank Holiday weather was a bonus and helped us enjoy the hot tub and alfresco dining during the evening's. Thank you all. The Alonzo Family

Arrived to a warm welcome from Ray after getting a little lost. Cottage is beautiful from the moment you walk in, easy access for my mum who needs a scooter to get about. Plenty of space for us all and our 2 dogs. Living room homely and spacious, dining table big enough for us all to sit around for a family meal. Kitchen well equipped for cooking all meals. Hot tub wall used by use all and situated in a lovely closed in garden for the dogs. Bedrooms beautiful and spacious, bathrooms very modern. The whole place was spotless when we got there and bedrooms all made up with towels placed nicely on each bed. We had a little gifts from the free roaming chickens, a dozen fresh eggs which were great for a first morning breakfast. Dawn and Ray made us feel like family the whole time we were there, nothing was too much trouble for them. They made us all feel very welcome. Even with Dawn having a horse show the weekend we were there we weren’t disturbed in any way. Myself and the family would definitely recommend this lovely little homely cottage and we all thank Dawn and Ray for their hospitality and kindness during our stay xx

The cottage was very much more spacious than we had anticipated and suited our family perfectly.. The three double bedrooms ( all en-suite, one with a bath) were a good size, clean and comfortable and for our daughter, husband and two young children the layout was excellent, as the children's room was situated next to a double and almost formed its own apartment. The kitchen was well equipped and communal spaces, excellent. The hosts were lovely, and even offered us a lift to and from our family event which was in a nearby hotel. Parking was no problem, even for our large vehicles, and when you know you are looking for a ship with lights, it’s pretty easy to find too. The grounds provided a safe play area and our youngsters enjoyed seeing the animals. We look forward to using this lovely cottage again sometime.

This was a family holiday with my three children, their partners and four grandchildren (under 3).. The cottage was perfect for us, plenty of room for the children to play indoors and outside. They really enjoyed the chickens and visiting the horses. There was the added bonus of the hot tub for the adults. The owners, Ray and Dawn were really friendly and helpful. A really enjoyable week.

The location is perfect.. The cottage made a large family including two dogs very happy! Everything was spot on and the rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The hot tub was a bit and the log burner made the evenings extra cosy. We could not have been happier!

We spend an amazing 3 days here as a large group of friends.. The cottage was beautiful, very clean and had everything that we needed. The kitchen was well equipped and had a few basic ingredients in the cupboards. We hardly saw the hosts after checking in and felt as if we had the area to ourselves. Ray was great and told us the basics about the house and area. Upon arrival we were also greeted by Barkus (lovely chocolate lab) and a cheeky chicken who kept trying to sneak her way into the living room. The hot tub was ready for us upon arrival and got plenty of use throughout our stay. There was also plenty of wood for the wood burner. We also visited the lovely horses and walked around he lakes. Most mornings we were joined in the garden by the owners dogs, it felt just like home. This cottage has everything you need for a relaxing break in the countryside. We would definitely come back again.
Miss Marsden, February 2019
February 2019
The cottage was just great- really spacious and well-equipped so the whole family had plenty of room to spread out.. We loved the hot tub, great kitchen and general comforts (like plenty of towels supplied, dishwasher tablets and other necessities that not all holiday cottages provide). Lovely hosts too! Our children enjoyed the playground and meeting the family. All in all, highly recommended as a comfortable base in West Wales. We would definitely stay there again.

Had a wonderful xmas the cottage was all decorated and looked great.. Ray and Dawn were very helpful and made us feel like part of the family. It really was a home from home and we couldn't have asked for a friendlier reception. Nothing was too much trouble! Great facilities for full time wheelchair user and brilliant setting. Outside space was amazing , didn't think our collie was going to want to come home. Already booked another stay!! Thanks for a lovely holiday

Beautiful cottage in a lovely part of Wales.. The owners went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and could not have been more welcoming. We had a great holiday and would recommend Cariad Cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful location, just a short drive to stunning coastline. Our second time using Sykes cottages and not disappointed.

It was a bit hard finding the place, however the cottage was beautiful, I don't think the pictures do it justice, its was better in real life.. very helpful landlords, pets overly friendly and seeing the horses was amazing. the only issue that we faced was with the hot tub, it was getting dirty so quickly I think there was a problem with the filter, and only advise is make to have a tent over the hottub or something. but other than that it was amazing I would definitely would be returning there with the family

May 2018
Lovely house nicely presented in a quiet location.. It felt private away from owners house meaning we could enjoy the garden and house without feeling overlooked. Dawn and Ray were very friendly and helpful and a lot of hard work as obviously gone into the lovely house. One minor observation was that the sofa/chair beds weren't made up for our arrival and that they are a little tired and not very comfy compared to the rest of the beds. Also the jack and Jill bathroom does not have a shower (despite having the fittings) which was a little chaotic with having 10 adults. We really enjoyed our stay and the proximity to the local beaches and the weather was perfect!

we had a peaceful xmas break , 11 of us in total when all gathered together . Dawn and Ray made us feel very welcome from start to finish , nothing was too much trouble , they went out of their way to make it an extra special break for us , and whatever we asked for they supplied gladly , we were never made to feel awkward in asking for anything . The cotttage is very homely and they decorated it with a festive feel including a xmas tree with all beautiful decorations when we arrived . All the rooms are very spacious and comfortable , the log burner was put to good use , a nice cozy touch to the stay in the evenings ..We made good use of the hot tub placed outside , would definitely recommend a stay here , winter , summer or autumn , we didnt take the opportunity to check out the location , we were happy to just have a cozy winter stay enjoying xmas with family and the kitchen was plenty big enough for large families .. thanks Dawn and Ray for your wonderful hospitality ,,,

We stayed at Cariad Cottage 3rd/10th November - we expected peace and quiet and got it in abundance.. The welcome from Dawn and Ray was lovely and nothing was too much trouble, it was as though we had known them for years. We were free to wander with our dog around the land and visited the stables to say hello to the horses. The cottage is warm, cosy and the wood burner on a chilly November night was fabulous. Everything we needed was there and the hot tub was a huge hit with the family even with frost on the ground !!! Despite being very peaceful you are only 15 mins from Aberaeron where there are lovely local shops etc. We are already sorting out our four busy lives for a visit next year !!!

Our very large family stayed here this week and had a wonderful time. We were greeted by Ray with a bottle of wine and an open invitation to the wheelchair friendly treehouse, swings and trampoline he had built in his garden. He also welcomed us to visit their stables and fishing lakes. If the weather had been kinder we would have made far more use of them. The large living room and spacious kitchen housed us all comfortably and had everything we needed to prepare large meals. The rooms were clean and well kept and the towels and beds made when we arrived was a lovely touch. Three modern bathrooms meant no queuing for the loo/shower/bath and the private decked garden with hot tub was amazing! We had daily visits from a gorgeous little one eyed cat named sooty who liked to bring us presents and a cheeky chocolate Labrador who's fond of crumpets and sausages! Despite being a working farm we were never disturbed by noise and the place was so well insulated and protected from sound. Thank you for a lovely week :-)

The whole family (11 of us ) ages varying from 13yrs to 70 yrs spent the bank holiday weekend here for an 18th birthday . The cottage is spacious , clean , beautifully decorated and the owners have thought of everything. The added extras such as the log burner and use of the hot tub made the cottage even more of a treat. The poor weather did not bother us at all because the cottage was so cosy and comfortable . It also has enough room so everyone can escape to their own space if needed. A wonderful retreat made even more special by the hosts Thank you .
