This was our third visit to Capella Cottage.. It has everything we require from a holiday cottage. It is ideal for two but can easily accommodate 4. The cottage is well placed in Keswick and provides an excellent base for exploring the Lake District.

I have selected 'Met Expectations' however there were a couple of issues with cleanliness in the cottage.. Firstly on arrival (after a rough drive due to the weather) i took a cup to make a hot drink (first thing i always do) and the cup had a dog hair in it and tea stains on the outside so hadn't been washed properly... i came accross this with plates also and the wine glasses looked like they had been handled by people with greasy fingers. I therefore felt i had to wash all cuttlery/crockery before using, i washed extra that i didnt use because i felt i couldn't put them back dirty... The second thing i noticed was toothpaste around the wall just above the sink in the bathroom. This came off with a damp cloth (which i cleaned) so i can only presume this wasn't cleaned or checked. On a positive note, the bed was lovely and comfy and the property was warm enough and there was a good selection of DVD's which i made use of due to the wet weather. The road is quiet and i parked right outside and the wifi was great throughout. Key collection/drop off was easy - used the keybox on arrival as after 5pm and the lady was apologetic about the above when i dropped the keys off. I left a day earlier than expected but that was due to my little dog not settling so decided to head home. Would i visit this cottage again, probably not however there is nothing i havent mentioned that cannot be easily rectified for future guests.

We are frequent visitors to Keswick and stayed in local BnBs and similar cottages as well as camping pods.. For convenience this was possibly one of the best placed cottages we have stayed in. The cottage is based on a quieter road and even though it was Christmas it was still very peaceful. Walking distance to all amenities. The cottage itself is very clean and well equipped. My only recommendation would be although the two seaters are comfortable they would have been great as recliners if ever they are replaced. The cottage is ideal for a couple and small family. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Collecting and handing keys back into office was not too much trouble but would be better to have keysafe.

This was our second visit to this cosy, handily situated cottage and once again we very much enjoyed our stay.. I note that a couple of the issues raised in my previous feedback had been attended to but still feel more could be made of the yard, although it does look as though it has had a lick of paint and a tidy-up. It would be nice if a few low-maintenance potted plants could be put in there in the Spring to make it a bit more inviting. All in all, a comfortable and relaxed stay and we will certainly consider again, even though the workings of the central heating system remain a mystery to me, with the heating coming on in the middle of the night! I think this may be due to previous guests altering the programming but perhaps the cleaner could check this at the end of each stay.

Great little cottage, central location with no problem parking.. Log burner was a great bonus after a cold day walking. Kitchen was fully equipped and beds very comfy, a few negatives, no mat at the back door, was very slippy with wet boots and plumbing wasn’t the best also no logs provided, I’d have paid extra for a log store rather than paying £7 everyday for logs. (Little touches) We would definitely return

Having used Capella cottage before we knew what it was going to be like and we were not disappointed.. Very clean and tidy. Wi-if was excellent in all areas. There are plenty of good eateries and if your prepared for a ride out then the Snooty Fox in Uldale serves absolutely superb food. A walk around Buttermere lake is a must. In all,a great holiday

Easy booking system.. Cottage clean and well equipped. Excellent position in the centre of Keswick. Paying extra for dogs seemed unnecessary when being asked to leave the cottage as if dogs had not been there! We did the cleaning before we left!

Your staff was not helpful it helping me sort the problems I had all they could .... Your staff was not helpful it helping me sort the problems I had all they could do is offer me measly £20 gift voucher the cottage was not as it stated in the photographs it was so dirty it needed owner to close the house and have it overhaul with all the cleaning decorating especially outside you could not sit and have a drink in the dirtiest backyard

Overall the cottage was lovely, comfortable and clean.. It was a short walk from the town centre located in a peaceful area. The only negative aspect was the shower and bath. Every time we had a shower the water didn't drain away So you would end up standing in a few inches of dirty water. The bath would then be covered in dirt after water had eventually drained. I ended up having to clean the bath if i wanted to have a relaxing soak after a day of walking. This was the only disappointing aspect of our stay.

This was our second stay at Capella Cottage.. It is well located only a short stroll from the town centre. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We would highly recommend it.

The property was perfectly satisfactory in most respects and we enjoyed our stay.. It is comfortable and well-situated but there are a few aspects that need addressing. The back yard is described as somewhere you could enjoy a pre-dinner aperitif but in reality, you would not wish to spend time in there in its present state. It is shabby, with litter in one corner, leaves in the grid and green mould on the flaking walls. It could be made quite presentable with a little effort. In addition, at least 2 drawers in the wardrobe in the 2nd bedroom are coming apart. Finally, the central heating comes on and off at seemingly random times. What is quite annoying is that these 3 points were raised by a previous reviewer just prior to our visit but had clearly been ignored.

The yard area was shabby and neglected .. the wardrobe drawers were broken and would not open . the letter box was not fitted correct and front door wood flimsey . the inner door to the lounge was cracked . central heating erratic . no dustbin in yard , no re-cycle bag for bottles .

Spent a week here in February half term, lovely cosy little cottage which was in the perfect location for a short walk into town.. 2 adults, 1 child & our dog, we found the space comfortable & relaxing, the wood burner was a great bonus although the central heating kept the cottage toasty. The only thing we missed was a dishwasher, otherwise the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could need for cooking meals. Thanks for a lovely stay.

People who We picked keys up from were snooty and quite rude When I Called for clarification they were uninterested and cut me off.. I think some customer service training g maybe handy Don’t think they liked to do anything but stand and talk to each other
