Proper ventilation/extraction in the kitchen and bathroom would be a vast improvement.. Ideally it needs a porch to take off and store wet gear

Nice cottage in a very quiet location.. Looked to have had some recent improvements, as not as dated as it appeared in the photographs. Would benefit from a heated towel rail in the bathroom as towels didn't dry very well.

Cottage smelled musty, couldn't put clothing in the drawers as they all smelled musty too.. It was ideal for a family our size but the kitchen equipment really let it down. There were two frying pans, one had the non-stick peeling off and the otherwas so filthy we didn't touch it. There were ample saucepans but anything that had a non-stick coating was peeling and everything was greasy and had to be washed before it could be used, including the cutlery. Wooden spoons so old the wood was separating and sticky utensils. Also most of the symbols on the oven dials have been scrubbed off. As a family not planning to eat out every day it made it hard work. Also the view from the cottage, whilst beautiful, is not quite as advertised as there are other buildings and foliage in front of the sea so the photo on the advert must have been taken with a zoom lens and is misleading. There was an issue with the shower which the owner corrected very quickly. Shame the kitchen lets this place down.

The directions to the cottage were poor.. I arrived about 7-30PM in the dark and could not find the cottage. I used your post code to guide me to the cottage, it guided me to the junction of the A87 and A851. The map on your website had the same location. I then spent an hour in the dark and the rain trying to find the cottage. I was about to give up and spend the night in the car when I noticed the directions said drive past the sign for Armadale. Then I tried again, I drove up and down the unmarked single road looking in vain for either the cottage name or number 9. It was only at the second time that I decided this must be the road. still no indication the cottage was here, the cottage name is not at the end of the drive as expected. It does have a sign, its brown and even in daylight couldn't be read from the road. After a seven and a half hour drive I didn't a hunt the cottage game. Your directions could have been so much better. At the junction of the unmarked road and the A87 you are spoilt for choice as to how to indicate this is the road. At the junction there are 4 signs: Stone sign for Broadford next to black and white sign for Willowdale B&B and immediately before the junction signs for Driftwood B&B and a big green highways information board. You could also have said, if you pass the sign for Harrapool you have just passed the road to the cottage. questions: Why don't you use all the possible signs to indicate the unmarked road? Why isn't the cottage signed at the end of the drive? Why does your post code direct people to the junction of the A87 & A851? One or two other issues: Double bed not made, it took me a couple of days before I had time to sift through the bed linen for the right one's for the double bed. My car got stuck on the grassy drive (more grass than drive) couldn't see in the dark. I also found it difficult to see the numbers on the key safe even with a torch. Despite all the above problems the cottage was ideal for my needs and a perfect location to explore Skye. I appreciated the quiet in particular.

This is an excellent wee cottage in a great location.. Apart from being in a quiet spot there are a few good restaurants only a Taxi ride away. The cottage itself is very comfortable. However a few recommendations I would make are as follows: a new front door, the TV didn't work properly so I would recommend a new one and slightly bigger, and the bathroom could do with a few shelves. Although it has 3 bedrooms, the cottage itself is quite small so would only recommend it for a family. Having only one bathroom could be a problem if all occupants were adults but can be managed. My husband and I feel very much at home in the cottage and am looking very much forward to returning next year.

The location of Caladh Na Sith is superb, close to the Skye bridge for exploring the mainland, and close to Broadford with all it’s facilities, for exploring Skye.. It’s very well equipped very comfortable and clean, and Kirsteen was very friendly and responded very quickly. If we return to Skye, I would love to use the cottage again, thanks.

The directions to the cottage are misleading; when arriving, visitors need to pass the turning to Armadale (not just the sign), and take the next left before the small stone bridge.. It's a great cottage and a super location. We had a great time, explored a lot but still have more to do - a week is nowhere near long enough! Just a couple of notes to the owner: 1. We managed to lock ourselves out of the bathroom! Fortunately the window was open so we posted our grandson in and he opened the door - the door had been closed from the outside with the lock in the locked position. 2. The tank overflow is running constantly - not usually a problem on Skye, I guess, but maybe this summer there's less water then usual...

The cottage needs some TLC. A coat of paint on the front door would help the exterior. The handrail on the external steps is missing and really needs replacing (I'm a bit unsteady and found the steps difficult). There is no information book/pack or visitor book. We did find some product guides in the kitchen, but information regarding the area and local services (eg doctor) really should be there. There was a pile leaflets and printouts but that is no substitute. There was some evidence of damp - particularly in the bathroom. One of my gripes about many holiday lets is the lack of spare light bulbs and that is the case here. We did eventually find one in a kitchen cupboard but as two had failed we juggled bulbs. Storage: Bathroom - The window sill and top of the WC and that's it. Very poor. Bedrooms - Plenty of good storage space. Kitchen - For such a large kitchen there is a suprisingly small amount of available cupboard space. We found the carpets and furniture to be good and the beds very comfortable. The heating was also pretty good although it to a while to find the immersion heater switch. I would suggest that the owners of holiday lets should go and live in them for a while to find out shortcomings themselves. Generally we had a pleasant stay but it would have been better with attention to some of the above points.

We stayed at this cottage in August 2016 and had specifically chosen this one as we needed a downstairs bathroom for my elderly mother. The cottage was in a nice location and set in a large garden. It was not far from Broadford with easy access to shops and restaurants. However, it appeared that the cottage has not been maintained and the furniture was old and dated. There is a very small television with no dvd player. There were no books or games for the children to play with but more importantly the whole cottage smelled musty and had damp. There are damp patches to most of the ceilings in the bedrooms and a large damp patch on the low wall next to the toilet in the bathroom. The furniture in the main bedroom also has a musty smell. Outside the property, the outdoor steps have no handrail (as shown in the photograph), which made it difficult for my mother to navigate the stairs. The large garden is not suitable for children as it contains a ranshackle shed close to collapse and various pieces of farm machinery. Along one side of the property there was a collection of empty alcohol bottles. On the whole this was a disappointing let and I was concerned with the damp especially as I have young children and an elderly mother.

The cottage was very good and in walking distance to Broadford for shops, cafes and pubs. A good base to explore the south of Skye and the Cuillin Range. It was a well furnished and equipped property with plenty of room and heating if necessary.

While the location is good and the view out the sitting room window toward water is beautiful, we were rather disappointed with this unit. The stale smell when we arrived was strong. The rooms were clean, but carpet and furniture old and not very comfortable. Very disappointed that the little amenities like no toilet paper or paper towels or salt/pepper were provided. The notebook that could have provided info to help on our vacation was outdated and did not include anything helpful, which would have been a simple thing to provide.

ideal location for cottage, not far from village of Broadford, hotels ect.Cottage very clean, all amenities you could need. Few little niggles, that Im sure could be rectified , cd player in living room does not work, and an addition of a dvd player would be great. Perhaps dampness at end of hall, strong odour, small table with scented candles to mask smell. New shower unit in bathroom. With few tweeks this cottage could be that little bit better.Need a new key lock on railings for key store.
