We stayed for a week in Caha Cottage.. It is a beautiful house, one of the nicest holiday homes we have stayed in. The house is very spacious with large bedrooms and two sitting rooms and the kitchen is fully equipped. There is an enclosed garden and a patio area. Margaret and her husband were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. On arrival Margaret had baked goodies for us and the essentials like milk, tea etc all provided. The house is located in a beautiful area it is very quiet & scenic with lovely safe walks off the main road.It is situated between the village of Eyeries and the town of Castletownbere. It is an ideal house for anyone who wants to tour the Beara Peninsula. You can take a short ferry trip out to Bere Island or visit the town of Kenmare that is 40 mins away. Caha Cottage is a beautiful, clean, warm house with helpful hosts so I would recommend it 100%. K.Burke

WOW! We were very impressed by the building, the location, attention to detail, the incredible comfort and the very friendly Margaret and her husband who were there to help at the the start and throughout our stay.. We don't think we've ever stayed in such a perfect holiday home! STAY HERE - you will not regret your choice! Caha Cottage was a wonderful base from which to explore the Beara Peninsula...

Caha Cottage was brilliant.. Pictures were accurate, check in was easy and the little touches were thoughtful. There was milk in the fridge, some homemade bread in the cupboard and fresh fruit. The house is large, warm and inviting. Two fireplace stocked with wood ( although the house is warm enough that the a fire is not needed) The bed is extremely comfortable and the ensuite shower is a dream. The location is rural but Castletownbere is quick 7-8 minute drive where there is everuthing you need. This was a perfect holiday.

Firstly I would like to thank Margaret again for her incredible hospitality, along with her son Liam.. The communication and helpfulness leading up to our trip, the welcome and the support and advice during the trip, were all fantastic! The most beautiful location; where the house is situated, the towns nearby and the small stops along the coast on day trips out. Castletownbere is a lovely town - everything you need is there and it is only a short drive away. Supermarket with fresh produce, pubs and restaurants, small shops and extremely friendly people! We took walks along the country lanes around the house, the scenery and relaxed environment is brilliant. We went as a family of 7, including a toddler, for 10 days over Christmas and New Year. Margaret decorated the house for us for the Festive season which was beautifully done and very special! The house had absolutely everything we needed. Especially for the little one, there were games, books, a high chair and a cot! We were greeted with freshly baked bread and muffins, there was milk and butter and some cereal to start us off with. The kitchen is well equipped if you love cooking. It had all the essentials and more. And lots of fridge and storage space! The house as a whole was so clean and tidy. It was cosy and warm. The living areas have lovely sofas and the televisions are Smart TVs. There is also a DVD player. The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of storage space to unpack clothing. The beds were super comfortable and there was an abundance of towels and clean bed linen (and extra pillows!) The bathrooms well equipped - showers were lovely and there was also hand wash in each bathroom. Everything in its place. Beautiful home, lovely hosts and a perfect location. The warmth and hospitality made our trip! We will definitely be back.

Caha Cottage was an amazing house.. Very clean, comfortable and spacious. Had everything we needed and more.. Arrived to freshly baked wheaten bread, muffins, milk etc to start us off. Margaret even had games for the kids and cards to entertain us. Margaret went above and beyond. Very kind and helpful. The location was 5mins for Castletown bere. We had an excellent Halloween break.

We could not recommend Caha Cottage enough! It is a beautiful and very comfortable cottage where everything has been provided to a very high standard to ensure an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The cottage is situated in surroundings that provide amazing views of mountains. It is so peaceful that the evenings are incredibly relaxing especially if you use the wood burner! The cottage was also handily situated only 15 mins away from the local town. Our experience was made even better because of Margaret who looked after us during our stay. Margaret was very friendly and went out of her way to help us or offer advice when asked. We had a brilliant holiday - the Beara peninsula is an incredibly beautiful place which we really enjoyed exploring. We even had a few days further afield such as Killarney (about 1.5 hours away), Sneem (1 hour 20 mins) and Kenmare (1 hour). On the Beara peninsula we recommend Gleninchaquin Valley Park, Bere Island and, if you’re into it, a trek with Lios Lara riding stables (only 5 mins from Castletownbere). At the end of our 2 weeks we wanted to stay for another 2!
