I stopped here with my wife and young children. We found the property to be spotless. The outside garden area is nice and tidy with hard standing for your car. Kitchen is new and lovely. Dishwasher, Microwave, Induction Hob, Fridge, what more could anyone need. Welcome basket upon arrival. Wood burner (local shop sells wood and kindling), electric heating throughout meant we were nice and warm our whole stay. Dining table we could all sit around if we wanted to - Smart TV with Netflix, Iplayer etc if you wanted it. Free Wifi too. Upstairs bathroom is clearly new and the shower is excellent. Washing machine and dryer provided which is great. Bunk beds in one room for the kids, nice soft double bed in main room. You can just see Brough castle in the distance from the main bedroom. This property is next to a working farm - we loved seeing the farmer backwards and forwards, cows and sheep are there too. If you want good country life, with the sights and smells of the country, this is ideal for you. We did some small walks right in Brough itself, which the kids loved. We visited Brough castle which is free entry. Ate at a cafe in Kirkby Stephen, ate out at the Black Bull in Nateby (which is highly recommended). You can easily get to Appleby and Penrith. We took a nice drive out to Highforce one day which gave us some magnificent views. Theres no doubt we will be back again as the whole house is perfect.

Enjoyed a comfortable stay in this well equipped cottage. Ideal quiet location with lots of local walks. Shop and bar 100m from cottage. Very clean with good outdoor seating area for warm nights. Main town 4 miles with Supermarket, bars, takeaways. TV with Netflix a bonus. Bed very comfortable. Would recommend for a tranguil stay with good location for exploring the lakes.

The location was spot on for what we where looking for.. I would recommend this cottage as it was really clean and well laid out, we sat in the garden looking at the lovely views of the hills of a morning and evenings as there is a table and four chairs in the storage shed. The large gate to the garden for car entrance has gaps between the bars so if you have a small dog it could get out however there was a roll of fine mesh in the storage shed which we tied to the gate which closed any gaps up and was fine. The kitchen had everything you could need and the bed was really comfortable, we will definitely be coming back.

Perfectly formed little cottage. Not a thing we would change. State of the art heating system. Log burning stove. Everything has been thought of for the comfort of guests. Every room tastefully coordinated. Love the small touches. Would recommend the cottage to anyone. Ps we have a three storey home in Oz but after staying here we wonder why we need all the space. Thank you Ruth and Andrew. We will recommend you to everyone

Overall a great cottage, great location, high spec, quiet spot, only let down by an uncomfy bed (too soft) and sofa (poor back support and not facing the tv).. That said these are down to personal preference. It's noteworthy the cottage has clearly been recently refurbished to a high standard and looks great. We struggled to get much heat from the fire, but that might be our abilities with coal!

My husband and I just enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Cabinteely. We found the cottage to be very welcoming. It was very tastefully decorated throughout in a contemporary style but still felt very cosy. I like to cook when away and so made good use of the kitchen. Clearly much thought had gone in to picking out all the necessary kitchenalia because I had absolutely everything I needed to prepare a nice meal. It was a lovely little kitchen and very stylish. Very nice induction hob too. We enjoyed a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed and I was very pleased to see that the bedroom mirror had been placed by a socket. A small point, but it makes hair drying so much easier. The bathroom was a very generous size for a small cottage, and again very stylish. We sat out in the sunshine in the garden for breakfast. In fact the garden had the sun all day. I found the local coutryside very beautiful. We took a walk up the lane and enjoyed some fabulous views. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is lovely and there's lots to see round about. We very much look forward to going back.

Extremley clean and tidy cottage.. Would reccomend. On the down side, the cost is approx £100 per day, you could fly to Venice, have a Cruise down the Mediterainian, all inclusive, for the same cost.

Spent a fantastic long weekend for our anniversary. Found the courage to be very comfortable and well thought out. It is small like most of the cottages in this part of Cumbria and that adds to the charm for me. The kitchen is a nice size and well equipped, it was very clean and tidy like the rest of the house. The living room is comfortable with wifi and an up to date tv which is unusual in my experience, it has BBC iPlayer, Netflix etc built in. Wee only used the main bedroom and I can honestly say it's the most comfortable bed I've slept in away from home. We did some local walks from the house and the scenery is stunning. It was nice sitting out having lunch and breakfast watching the rabbits, sheep, cows and birds (inc birds of prey). Taking a trip to Keswick is about 45min, Appleby was about 15min, so it's a good base for travelling. Would we come again? Absolutely.

There was a noticeable absence of a wall clock anywhere in the cottage, particularly in the kitchen, and a mirror downstairs would have been an advantage.. The white walls in the living room were rather cold looking and bare of any decoration. The room did not feel very cosy.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage.. It was clean, comfortable and warm. There was a log burner with coal but we didn’t need to use it. The bunk beds are smaller than usual but was absolutely fine for my 2 boys who are 5 and 7.
